First Hit BRZ? :(

Someone must've backed into my BRZ and drove off?

There's a good dent that has messed up the flush feel between the bumper and the side fender, as well as some paint scratches/dings.

This will be fixed asap. Although minor, it sucks bad. The other car was a red car as there was red paint on it before I sprayed detailer on it and cleaned it off to observe the damage.

That sucks! :(

Hopefully the repair won't be too costly or time consuming

Zadkiel 06-13-2012 05:27 PM

MURDER THEM!!!!!!!!!!!

dsgerbc 06-13-2012 05:41 PM

Ouch. Shouldn't take too long to re-paint the bumper though (might as well ask to paint the mustache with bodycolor). Could've taken longer if this was a new color like GBS.

Kimsey47 06-13-2012 05:43 PM

I HOPE THE PERSON THAT DROVE OFF BURNS! How Efffing rude?!

That would look really ghetto. sorry.

the_3d_man 06-13-2012 05:46 PM

This is why we can't have nice things...

Jayde 06-13-2012 05:47 PM

I dread this every time I go somewhere that I can't control the cars around me. Every time I get back to my BRZ, I walk around it looking for this.

I'm sorry this happened to you. If only the person who did this was honest and left you a note or something, but people are cruel. Hopefully it won't be in the body shop too long and you get her back asap!

Lonewolf 06-13-2012 05:49 PM

Some lame-ass did this and just took off...lovely.

I hope they get saddled with explosive diarrhea for the next week.

Murder would be to quick of punishment. I say you get rights to their first born.

Achpoques 06-13-2012 05:54 PM

It's not too bad, could've been hella worst but it's not good either.

The bumper is loose and not flush with the side fender so that poses a problem. Luckily, the headlight assembly is still good, HID still works and adjusts up/down still.

I'll post some better pictures when I'm not in the work parking lot like these last ones lol.

Cudgel 06-13-2012 05:55 PM

That sucks! Also, I have a feeling this might be happening a lot because these cars are so low that other drivers don't really notice until it's too late.

Hawaiian 06-13-2012 05:59 PM

Jealous co worker?

I think it mainly has to do with people being to frakking stupid not to know the corners of their vehicle.

Here's a question, how was it parked? Would they have been parallel parking or was the nose facing out of the spot and they hit it because they're stupid?

ashtray 06-13-2012 06:05 PM

I always consider which spot to park in based on the cars around that area - and I usually come back to the car to find other cars parked around me that weren't there before. So all my paranoid parking woes and speculation is for naught usually. That said, I've been parking far away from people as I can, when I can. Unfortunately at my work, the lot is full daily. Best I can do is find a friend to park next to - but after lunch there will usually be someone else in the spot. :(

Basically - there's very little we can do to control this if we choose to take the car out of its original packaging and play with it. :)

This.

Tbxgz 06-13-2012 06:15 PM

:bs: Thats what Im afraid of! Best of luck to you, thats really unfortunate.

Exhaust 06-13-2012 07:55 PM

Your not the first.. someone else hit a raccoon on these forums and has worse damage than you. I believe a cracked front end? I truly feel bad for you, i couldnt imagine owning one of these cars at the current moment. Between the condensation issues, idling issues, and the sheer worry of other drivers would be a bit too much. Keep us updated on what you decide to do.

86design 06-13-2012 08:15 PM

dang that sucks :( sorry to hear that...

Dave-ROR 06-13-2012 10:13 PM

Much worst than the damage from road debris I have. Sorry man :(

the_3d_man 06-13-2012 10:22 PM

I have a dash cam on my Legacy in case someone does something stupid while I'm driving. It doesn't have a park mode though. This one does though

http://www.blackvue.com.sg/new-full-hd.html

Thinking about getting this or something similar once my BRZ gets here.

Achpoques 06-13-2012 11:11 PM

Headlight assembly is cracked on the inside and there's a loose piece sliding about inside.

Plus, driving tonight, I noticed that the driver side (where the damage is) isn't level with the passenger side headlight. So the entire assembly will need to be replaced....damnit. :(

Lol, I actually came here to post that...and from Houston too! Must be something in the water.

OP: that sucks rhinoceros balls. Hopefully it was done somewhere like your home/work and you can find the culprit and return the favor. Dogshit underneath the door handles should suffice.

Turbowned 06-13-2012 11:51 PM

Wow. I hope the responsible party dies in a fire.

Motopythons 06-13-2012 11:57 PM

I know who's responsible: a jealous FRS owner

Second that..................There is nothing a hit anr run driver, but I have to say a notch higher than that is a hit and run driver who leaves a fake note on your windshield, that drives me insane with rage that hell hath no fury

That looks like a great camera... looks like they don't sell it in the US though.. wonder if there is a good way to go about getting one besides the shady listing on eBay for one...

ichitaka05 06-14-2012 12:09 AM

Oh dang dude... I'm sorry.

This is one of the reason, when I get FRS/BRZ I gonna install 2 way alarm, so when something is happening to the car, I can go there & beat the crap out of whoever messing w my car.

Anyways, hope everything get fixed to how it was... or better

Dark 06-14-2012 03:12 AM

Dang, that sucks. Last year, someone damaged the driver side door of my IS, and ran off. I really want to beat the crap out of that idiot.

Bristecom 06-14-2012 03:40 AM

Many Americans don't give a crap about driving or anybody else. That's why they want and need systems to drive for them. And they buy monster trucks which they can't see out of or what they are running over as long as they are safe.

^^ What this man says is sad, but true. Maybe all of us enthusiasts should found our own town about 5 mins away from tail of the dragon. We'll never have to worry about neighbors messing with our cars. We would also have a neighborhood watch type of deal, but only for our cars lol.

WRXGuy1 06-14-2012 10:15 PM

I hate when people do that! When I first got my WRX someone hit my bumper and left a huge scrape and actually cracked the bumper. Now I make sure to park far away from other people.
