Just as it states guys. I'd love to host an event at my shop with a cruise involved down a scenic twisty rd we have.

-All food would be covered
-Free to Roam the shop and look at what we have going on
-Dyno will be available at a practically free rate to those interested
-Discounted prices on all parts to club members
-Discounted prices on proprietary parts picked up that day


Not sure about a date. Open to suggestions.
Even if you do not own a brz or frs. We are car guys, anyone is free to join.

I split time between Akron and Detroit so I drive through Toledo 2x a week. I haven't been driving the BRZ, but that might give me an excuse to make the trip.

I just have to convince myself that my apartment parking in Detroit is safe enough to park my car overnight.

Depending on the date, I would love to participate. I will bring my 2ZZ Spyder. Only weekend that is totally out for me would be around July 15th. I will be in Savannah, Georgia Thurs through Tues that week. Any other time and I will make the drive up from Akron-Canton.

Depending on the dates as well, I'm leaving the country for a month on 7/6 so I will probablly miss the event.

I'd be up for it, but our regions autocross schedule is ridiculous heavy the first part of July. I won't have a free weekend until July 21st.

According to Google Maps I'm only 1:29 away from you guys. I'd be up for visiting your shop and seeing what you're all about. After July 4st preferred for me.

I know Don is extremely busy building exhaust for customers right now but I hope this meet is worked out and a date finalized. Looking forward to meeting some more FR-S/BRZ guys and seeing what types of upgrades are being done to the cars.

Yeah, I've been following the thread, waiting for a date. I'm sure bmf and I would probably both drive up together.

I would be happy to make the trip, if we could have the meet start on a saturday. As it stands right now, I work on sundays, but may be able to take a vacation day off to stay for the extended weekend

We had a little "meet" yesterday at an autocross in Cleveland..
4 86's were in attendance.
2 Red FRS
2 Blue BRZ's

Unfortunately, there is no perfect date for every person.. so you just have to set a day and go with it and hope as many people as possible can show up.

Was this the charity event? Laps for Tina>?? --- I wanted to head to it but had a father's day gig with the family. Either way would be awesome to do some kind of get together at AP. In pending the date :)

I didn't participate with my car as I'm still being careful with it during the break-in preiod. I'm at about 450 miles now.

Another BRZ owner was there with his blue limited. He got at least 4 runs in.. Looked like he was getting pretty quick his last couple runs. I didn't catch actual times... but I was watching and I was impressed with how quick the car seemed to turn from a distance.


I got to ride along in one of the FRS's. The owner is Andrew Pollatta.. I'm not sure if he's a member of this forum or not.. I'm told he won nationals in a class for SCCA in 2010.. so he's fairly well-reknown. It was a thrill to ride with him.. Obviously he's an amazing driver and I was incredibly impressed with how he handled the car.. especially on stock tires, having only owned the car for a week and with my added weight in the car with him. It was neat to see what the car do in capable hands.

I was very impressed with the balance of the car... it doesn't really have any bad habits. The lack of overall tire grip and front camber is noticeable, but for the most part, understeer is pretty minimal. If you keep the inputs smooth, the car will stay tidy, but it will also respond well to a quick lift and a flick of the wheel. The only time you can really get it to push is if you try to brake too much going into a corner, or try to carry too much speed, or be too aggressive on your steering inputs, but those are all driving mistakes - aside from that it's extremely manageable by throttle and an overall complete joy to drive. It's a good car and should be even more so with a couple of tweaks. In fact, I think a lot of people jumping in and modifying the suspension right off the bat are taking a step backwards, and I feel that in a lot of cases the car is going to end up handling worse for them.

Anyway, that's just my .02... as for the topic, I would probably also be interested in a meet of some sort, somewhere around the Toledo area would probably be as far as I would go, though.

Don asked for suggestion on dates so I would like to throw out July 7th or July 21st as proposed dates. Maybe by then he will be starting to catch up on orders and have time to breath again.

August works for me as long as it is not the weekend of the ALMS race at Mid-Ohio and/or I have not relocated to the Carolinas by then.

Depending on the date the wife and I could make the trip up from Indy! I have family that lives both in Toledo and SE Michigan (Adrian). Would be a good excuse to go visit.

The ALMS/Indy race at Mid-Ohio is August 3-5. It is a family tradition that my boys. grandson and I attend this race yearly. If the Get Together is the following weekend August 11 or 12 then I would love to attend.

I spend a bit of time on particular weekends down in the Toledo area and would be willing to stop by if it happens to fall the same weekend as a NWOR event.

August 25th would be a great day to hold it! :)

I'd be game as long as it isn't the first weekend in August... Thats the Solo National Tour in Peru, IN...

Not to butt in on Don's plans but i myself is planning my annual Toyota/scion meet at maumee bay state park for late August or early Sept. If we could tie the 2 togather, that would be awesome im sure the celica and Supra owners that come down for my meet regularly wont mind.

Let me know Don or Russ, and i can stop by the shop. And talk details.

Don and i will be working on combining our meets togather BRZ and Fr-s owners welcome.

Well things have changed a bit to accommodate some of the celica members.

New dates aug 18 and 19th.

Look forward to coming to the event. It will be a nice drive I live in Shaker Heights.

Bummer, the 25th probably would have worked well, I'll be in Oscoda for the 2-day detroit region SCCA event on the 18-19.

Ouch, no longer works for me.

Although this could just go back to a FRS/BRZ meet instead for the 25th/26th.
