The Racers Line! Northern California's FT86 Parts Sales and Installation Specialist
[CENTER]http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...pspgfh9mwg.jpg
Current Hourly Rate: $169/h Hey guys, a little update for anyone that is interested. The Racers Line is no longer accepting appointments and all work is being pushed over to my other shop Contra Costa Auto Service. Many of you have already experienced my fantastic team over at CoCo, and they are looking forward to seeing more 86's! To be open and honest, this has been in the pipeline ever since acquiring the other shop, as I knew I couldn't handle the work load forever by myself. This injury has helped push me to the point of an early physical retirement. An old high-school-era, downhill mountain biking injury, which has reared its ugly head many times over the years, has turned into a much larger issue recently. I am having quite a lot of trouble even holding certain tools and weighted things and am in excruciating pain for most of the day. I don't know yet (from the medical professionals) that I'll be able to return to working on cars at this same level I have been, but I am not going ANYWHERE in regards to the car world, and my business. I may no longer be the guy working on the cars, but I will be around to estimate, oversee, guide and educate you all through the process of modifying and maintaining your 86, just as I have for the past 7 years. I will never be able to thank this community enough for the support, but I'll do my best to continue keeping these cars on the road and track in the best shape possible. I also will be transparent with the fact that Contra Costa Auto Service, will not be able to provide every single service TRL did. However, we will do our best to have a solution or recommendation for most scenarios and still have partners throughout the industry to get things taken care of. I hope in the future to still handle most of the FI work and track prep, while my amazing staff will diagnose, service and repair literally anything far above any dealershit level. In fact we already offer things that I couldn't before by myself, that they have already been doing over the past year (timing cover re-seals, P00A/P0018 codes, GDI servicing, etc) In this transition, I ask for patience with myself and staff at CoCo. The best way to reach me for questions will continue to be email! We are going to do our best to keep things running smoothly, but it will take time. I've got work coming your way soon buddy!!!

Is your new shop going to be located in Fairfield? When you say suspension adjustment.. Do u mean alignments as well?

Adjustment is for ride height with the coilovers. I don't have the equipment to do alignments at this time, but I'll be working with another local shop to offer the service. |
Neal, I'm very happy for you bro. This is Shaun with the whiteout turbo FR-S. You fixed some leaking on my oil plate, and attached the air line to my blow off valve at EQ. Funny how you shared that day that someday soon you wanted to get your own thing going. Great to see that already happening!
I'll be in contact with you soon. Still need to upgrade my clutch. |
Hey guys, it's taking a little longer then expected to get my forum name changed. For legal reasons I'm going to close the thread until it is.
Thanks! |
Apparently no one can get a hold of Hachiroku and it is taking quite a long time to get my name changed.

Thanks! Edit: Since this post was already here, I'll just put up what was done that day! Took a drive up the Ground Control Suspension Systems in Shingle Springs,CA. They had prototype parts waiting for the F80 M3 we brought them. The whole crew of guys there were fantastic. We got a tour of their facilities and got to take a look at all their amazing new products as well as watch first hand how the suspension systems were designed and tested. They have a fantastic product line for the 86 platform that we will soon be carrying as well! http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps3e920b0d.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps7e2a7df5.jpg |

Papers are done, Business is official!
Looking at bigger shops in the East Bay right now guys, hope to get a bit closer to a majority of my customers. Also, website just launched. It's very basic for now, as I can only work on it in my free time, and this is a one man show for the time being!(A pro will be jumping on the website soon, an ft86'r as a matter of fact!) www.TheRacersLine.com Lastly, I can't thank you guys enough for the immense support I have been getting from this community. Whether it be all these PM's expressing your support and congratulations, or just the amount of business I have gotten in just the last few weeks. Much love FT86 club! |
Congrats!
Hope you're closer soon. Im 8k miles away from needing my ATF done again. Though not sure if it requires a specialty tool to monitor temps. Lol |
Yes move closer to me! That is where the business is at. And we all know you down here.

Hey guys! Been a crazy busy week and it's not even Friday yet.
Been doing a lot of work to the website, feel free to check it out.(It is not perfect, but its slowly getting close) I'm adding new products hourly. It is a very time consuming process! Anyone local can save big on shipping and pick parts up directly from the shop as well. Any questions about pricing or installations, just shoot me a PM or Email. I'm a big fan of combining parts purchases with install deals! http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...psrxcnxdn2.png |
Website looks slick!

A little sneak peak for @BigFatFlip See you tomorrow sir!

Thanks again Neal.

Today brought me @BigFatFlip BRZ. He purchased the Ohlins through me netting him a great discount on labor!
As you'd expect from Ohlins, these are an amazing quality product. I played with the ride height a bit to get it back exactly to stock(customer desired), after setting the Ohlins spec'd pre-load. The road up to the shop is very bumping and made for a great quick test of the ride quality. On Ohlins' street setting, the car soaked up the bumps greatly while keeping the car planted and un-bouncy. The car will be used on the track as well, and Ohlins provides a guide to help with setting these coil-overs up. http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps2388c204.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps66181cdc.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps1320df29.jpg http://i208.photobucket.com/albums/b...ps37efbb7b.jpg |
Does this mean @BigFatFlip is going to make his way to an 86Cup event soon?

So much for staying stealth...Thanks for blowing my cover Neal :D
Driveway/ride-height test: SUCCESS! Attachment 110782 You can't tell, but there's about 1/8"-1/16" of day light left down there, no scarping! Quote:
Anyway, thanks for the quality work Neal! It was great hanging out while you worked, can't wait for your new (closer to me) shop. Although the instruction manual could have been a little bit clearer, you had it all figured out lol. Also, thanks for the Costco pro-tip! Quote:
