NEW TO OFT
Hey every one. Im extremely excited my new OFT is waiting for me at home. Expect me to post alot of questions, sorry guys. :D im going to attempt to flash stage one in the meantime, while my OFH are getting ceramic coated. I run 93 octane.
I want to know what to look for to make sure my fuel is actually 93 and running smooth on the car. Also anything else i should look for? I am stock except for a TRD drop in filter. |
If it said 93 on the pump, then roll with it.
If your only other engine mod is a filter, you'll be fine at Stage 1. The first time I flashed mine I had the youtube video from openflashtablet.com playing so I didn't mess it up. I'd recommend that. OFT really is a great "set it and forget it" tool. Flash Stage 1 and don't worry about it until you get your header, then flash Stage 2. It's as easy said as done. |

Thanks guys! Came home and thanks to efffin USPS. They decided not to send my package instead hang on to it until tomorrow yet they had it "on the truck" but never reached my home. What a load of ishhhh ahhh so mad. Buttt they where able to deliver my regular mail?!!? I hate usps they always screw something up. Sorry needed to vent.
Tomorrow stage 1 should be in. Now tonight i must figure out how to get everything working on my mac |
No you don't. Basic stage 1 and 2 maps are preloaded. You only need OpenFlash Manager if you're updating your OFT, downloading specific maps like some of the more esoteric E85 maps, or doing custom changes to the maps.

http://www.openflashtablet.com/Autom...S%20v2.063.zip You'll use the appropriate BIN for your calid under the `Stage 1 - 93oct` folder. |
Flashed stage one 93 octane. I drove around the corner everything was fine. I plugged in my oft. Now i have the traction light on. Abs light on and a check engine cose p0462. Umm little help please?

P0462 is a fuel level sensor code. People have seen it sometimes when switching to E85, but no one's reported it with regular fuel.
Clear the code with your OFT and see if it comes back. If it does, flash the 91 map and see what happens. |
Awesome thanks! Just cleared it will go drive around now and see whats going on.

those codes due to you plugging or unplugging an obd device (eg oft) into car while ignition is ON. It can occasionally cause a glitch on the CAN buss which is used by car to communicate between ECU and traction/ABS/VSC computer, body computer ect. You can sometimes get codes after a flash as part of the flashing process shuts down ECU communications to other control modules in the car, they get lonely and upset and can throw a code, just clear them. If they keep returning then its an issue. Just use the diagnostic mode on your OFT to clear those codes and all will be fine. |
Thanks everyone. I cleared the code and went on to driving. After about 30 min. I got on wot. oMG this car is amazing. Everything ran perfect no problems. Just smiles as i ripped 1-4. Wooooo thanks shiv!! Now i need my OFH and put on my perrin exhaust.

read Tune Tweaks link anf Romraider Tips link :-) |
trying to save some changes on Rom raider but it is saving it as a file instead of a bin. a little help please? sorry for my noob tendencies with a computer =[
|
No offense, but since you -obviously- are inexperienced with IT in general and modifying ECU software in particular, I'd rather not mess with Romraider and doing something unwanted to your car.

I'm just changing the LC and just want to save it properly. |

eg LC4000A01CSTG2.BIN please read the romraider tips link below and check some tables to make sure your definition and rom are matched. |
THANK YOU STEVE THATS ALL I NEEDED =] wooooo!

@steve99 's signature was basically my encyclopedia and owner's manual when I was learning the ins and outs of the OFT. :word:
|
Considering buying an OFT soon but will be leaving the car stock for a while. How's your driving experience so far with just stage 1? Care to expand on some details, thanks :)
|
I had the p0462 when I installed my OFH headers. I had the stage 2 EL currently on my FRS and went back home after leaving the shop. I reflashed it to UEL Stage 2 and the p0462 went away. So far I'm loving the boxer sounding like a real boxer engine and have no regrets waiting after a month ordering the headers. Openflash tuning is good in my books.
