Factory Exhaust with Headers and Cool Air Intake
What kind of note and power are you guys getting from this type of set up?
If the Cats are removed (for off highway use) does the factory exaust system come alive? Question update. Who makes an intake/airbox (not a Plenum) and full head back exhaust that works as a whole system? |

Get your own a funny guy, then you won't need cdrazic93's.

But semi seriously.
If I keep the factory exhaust (cat back) and pick up some EL headers and remove or ????? The cats will the exhaust sound good or is my best bet to replace the whole thing for best performance and sound? |

UEL headers might be more up your alley since they give a distinctive subaru sound while also providing more low-range power, which I'd personally prefer in a street car. |
Around 15 whp if you tune it. No tune... maybe 1-3whp. As for sound, yeah it does sound more alive. Anytime you remove cats, it's going to sound louder and more raw.

@JRCmx
Here is how my car sounded at cold start with catless UEL and stock everything else. Cold starts sounded like rattle cans and the overall note sounds restricted and a bit tinny. Here is how my car sounded at cold start with catless UEL and Resonated CBE. And how glorious it sounds driving away. In short, get a CBE or at least an ABE to open up the exhaust rumble and note. |
What about uel + muffler delete? That viable?

Take note that videos of header-only exhausts accentuate the rumble, or burble, of the system.. in person it's much less pronounced and sounds just like a buzzy tractor. Ask anyone of us who has ran this setup how we know..

people are trolling because this is something that is easily searched. there are a few threads, videos, etc. on this forum on the same topic already.
however I can give you some input because I have a similar setup. I have a catless header, and nothing else changed in the exhaust line. I have a k/n air filter and new inlet tube, otherwise stock airbox though. deleting the sound tube will add a slightly meatier sound in the cabin. you should also hear a little bit more induction noise. Nothing out of line for an OEM sound though. The header will affect your exhaust note depending on what type you get. I have a UEL (unequal length runners) header and it has made the engine noise much deeper and louder inside the cabin. externally, there is hardly any difference that I can tell with the exception of a cold start, which is pretty loud. |
Help a brother out.
Intake and full exhaust combos from the same mfg. Who's got them? |

Suggest you leave intake stock, just get drop in filter and maybe ilet tube if you want to remove sound generator (or just plug it up for free.) Have a read of link below http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=81493 You will need to budget for a tune else your intake/exhaust mods will be of little value other than sound. |

I need the car before the parts and tune can happen. |
