Toda 2.3 stroker kit

1 Attachment(s)
Got my latest edition of Hyper REV vol 109 and was surprised to find Toda advertising a 2.3 stroker kit! Anyone have any info on this as Toda's website doesn't show this kit. I am also very interested in the specs of the Toda cams!

Might as well go $70000 Jun 2.4 V8! Go big or go home. Funny is how the car is $25k brand new... Then spend another $40k in mods. Better o just get a C7 Vette or Caymen lol.

For sure! But when I saw the $70k price tag on the JUN, instant limp. The Toda isn't going to be any better for just engine internals. I guess that's the price we pay for pure JDM awesomeness. Thank goodness we have credible builders and tuners here on this side of the pond that'll void having to go overseas.

The only problem is no one is willing to put in the R&D into a mold to cast their own block with a closed deck  I'm sure you could get the same stroke & bore though.

xwd 03-22-2015 06:57 PM

Afaik only one company did a bespoke closed deck block for the EJ series and they were in New Zealand and it was billet, and that platform has a ton more sales than the FR-S/BRZ. Also a ridiculous amount of money.

Wise 03-29-2015 10:30 PM

This kit with a Sprintex 335 supercharger.

Just jizzed.

1ofaKind 03-29-2015 10:42 PM

Toda FTW

Brzerker 03-30-2015 05:30 AM

Wow this is sick. If I had the dough, i just might!

I'm glad they they pushed this product out, more options for everyone!

cyde01 03-30-2015 06:17 PM

an frs plus this kit would be my dream car, i'd rather have this than a cayman for the same amount of money, but i guess i'm weird like that. bummed there are no specs on the cams.

Assuming you could find low compression pistons. 13.5 compression ratio with fi doesn't look health to me.

chaoskaze 05-17-2015 03:46 PM

Looks more like a track motor, 13.5 comp. on the street you'd need 100 Octane to keep it running properly. May need to do drievetrain and diff upgrade for the extra torque and heavy Duty axles. if I had the money I would get it. But it's a new product and thats where i get nervous.

celek 05-17-2015 06:49 PM

I called them 2 months ago, its in the works but don't expect anything until the end of the year
Ordered my HKS crank right after I got off the phone with them.

What's the clearance of the valves on the stock cam with the pistons? I don't remember where, or when. But I think I read that stock it's already close and big cams may be an issue.

Sent from my toaster

You won't be running stock pistons with the 2.3l block. But even then what it really means is your variable valve timing is restricted a little.

GT86_PRAGUE 06-03-2015 11:09 AM

Can someone explain to me what closed deck mean?
Also what is the difference between this and HKS 2.1 kit on N/A car?

Curious dummy.
