My Offer on New 2014 Limited
Okay guys, want to know everyone's opinion. I have done a lot of research on this forum and looked up a lot of deals everyone else have received.
Here is what I have been offered for a 2014 leftover. Silver Limited Popular Package #1a Dealer added Paint Protection Dealer added cloth/Leather treatment . 25k Out the Door.... I know that seems pretty good, but I really wanted Black, so this is almost opposite color. Am I stupid if I don't take it? It's also the last 2014 they have. So do you think they have more room to work? What is everyone's opinions? |
That's a good deal. Assuming tax, etc. is probably in the $1500 area, that means you're buying it for $23,500. That's roughly $5k off sticker?

Yes I agree it's a great price. Do NOT buy it if you really care about the color....you will always regret it.
I guess on the flip side, you could take the money saved and get it wrapped in any friggin color you want? But in general, I wouldn't purchase if it isn't the color you want. |
Sticker with dealer options is hovering around 29k... It is a co-workers brother That is the salesman, so he's giving me a great deal.
That's what I'm debating. Silver was my last choice beside Red.... So if I get it will I regret It? That's an awfully hard deal to pass on. I might regret that more. |
That's a great deal. I got black when I wanted the blue or the 10 series color. I don't regret it. The color I wanted was almost 5k more.
I think the silver looks great. It may grow on you. |

Throw it in the mix, I'm leaving for vacation in 2 days. Wasn't planning on purchasing anything till next month.

I was in a similar situation when I bought mine. I did not want the rally blue color and according to the dealer that was all they had. It was easy to play hard as I did not want that color, I wanted the dark gray or at least something more discreet, but they would not take no for an answer. I got them down quite a bit then finally said no for the last time and walked out. Guy caught me as I was getting to my car to let me know they "just received a dark gray limited"... I was pretty pissed after them wasting my time but after I saw the car everything was fine in the world. When all was said and done I had to pay around $1000 more but got the color I wanted. No regrets.

That sound very good for a deal. But like other people mentioned, if that's not the color that you want, i would not take it (but what just me)
Something similar happened to me when getting my series blue, for example there was a dealer that offered me the car in WHITE for 28K, i really wanted the WRB so i paid the extra $500 in a different dealer and got what i wanted. |
When I was looking for a 2014 Limited, I really wanted blue, but the dealer gave me a deal on a silver I couldn't pass up. Now I really like the silver. Dark colors are so hot in the summer in North Carolina, and they are harder to keep clean. When you put the silver in the sun, the curves on the car cast shadows on the silver paint that really show off the car nicely.

Seems like a ok deal if you don't care about the color. I only say ok, since when I'm dropping 25 large on something, I'd like to get exactly what I want.
Try a website like true car to see what a 2015 in the color you want would cost and then decide what color is really worth to you... Probably cost 1500-2000 more for black and the extras that come w/ the 2015's over the 2014's (sharkfin, exhaust tips, dash trim, keyfob). |
silver on the BRZ looks awesome, makes me wish i waited 3 years!

That's an amazing deal, I'd take it right away. I looked into getting a 2013 BRZ last year, and the dealer wanted a few hundred dollars over the invoice price even though it was sitting on the lot for a year!
As for color, I once really disliked silver. However, a while back I found a silver RSX-S in really great condition. The car was so good that I bought it even though it wasn't the color I liked. However, the silver really grew on me and I started liking silver on cars. No regrets on that purchase. |
i would not buy it. some people do not care about the color of their car, but it sounds like you do. i think it will bother you

The more and more I look at picture of the silver, the more I like it. It really defines the muscularity of the lines well. I think I disliked silver because most cars on the road are silver, and I Like to rebel! Lol going to try to talk him down another grand and a half.

I wanted to buy a 2014 World Rally Blue, but the dealer couldn't get me one, so I ended up getting a Dark Grey Metallic instead. It bugged me at first, but then I started to like the color, and now I love it and I'm very happy I got this instead of blue.
It would have bugged me a LOT more if I paid extra for a certain color. |
I wanted a DGM but settled for SWP so I didn't get my preferred color. I regretted it at first but I really grew to love the color and I'm happy with it. You might grow to love silver but do what you feel is right.

Well I put $500.00 hold on it and have the delivery scheduled for the 30th! Getting excited, will let everyone know when I officially become family! The deal was just too good to Pass up.

To make you feel better, a dealer down here in FL told me he had a great deal on a used 2013 with less than 10k----only $22k.

Good Morning everyone! Today is delivery day, are there anything specific I should look for? Read a couple common issues, but think they're on older models, ie. Plugs, alarm activation, small stuff like that...

I've not had this issue here in NC. -Some early cars had the tail light condensation issue crop up. Not sure if that was cold weather related or not as well, but I have luckily not had the issue. There is a service bulletins on it and dealerships will replace if that happens. My advice: I strongly suggest getting clear bra for at least the front end of the car. These cars don't have great paint, and they are very low to the ground and take a beating from debris. The front of my car looks like I sprayed it with gravel. In hind sight, I really wish I had done this within the first week of ownership. My two cents: drive it stock for 4-6 months. Then upgrade at least tires to more grip (consider lighter wheels as well); do a drop-in filter; consider openflashtablet or some other tune solution. For me, the drop-in plus openflash transform the car and give greatest bang for buck. Post up some pics! |
DO NOT buy a new car, in a color you don't want.

I was originally going to get black but went with silver for a change after I saw it in person, 2 years later and I don't regret it.

Took delivery around 2! Had a couple of hiccups along the way before actually signinf. But finally accepted! Getting dark but manaaged to snap a few pictures!
