Nice i think the burnt exhaust would be choice for an ultramarine. Can't wait to see some more footage! Congrats on the new FR-S:w00t:

yayforaddison 06-12-2012 12:13 AM

I like. Any sound clips of the exhaust?

Godzilla35 06-12-2012 12:22 AM

weight savings? that muffler section looks pretty big. and the tips don't look straight (?) is that the angle?

kinryu 06-12-2012 12:26 AM

My frs is still at tanabe for r&d.
Check out the link

For more updates :)
The material they use is much lighter than oem and stronger

Fish 06-12-2012 12:28 AM

I'm liking that exhaust.

Calidrifter 06-12-2012 12:33 AM

I like all the updates, but did you seriously have to post it like in every thread? Lol

kinryu 06-12-2012 12:36 AM

Yes the burnt tip does look good!
Hopefully they make it to production. If we all ask for it maybe they can !

kinryu 06-12-2012 12:39 AM

Aha well it got moved so thought "might as well!"
Tanabe has been a great product for my other cars. Always trust their products. High quality and beautiful just looking at them

Same here. Used Tanabe lowering springs on my xB. Followed that up using one of their catback exhausts and downpipe on my Evo. I'm looking forward to more stuff from them.

Dont get me wrong, I had a ton of tanabe stuff on my S14 and love their springs just making a observation. But congrats on getting to be the test mule.

raphymartinez 06-12-2012 01:09 AM

I love the drop. Not too severe.

Hi! How you like the brz? Saw mine when you dropped it off?

BRZer86 06-12-2012 02:11 AM

Tanabe has one of the best quality products. I had it on my IS250 and put over 200,000 miles on the exhaust and 80,000 miles on their springs. One big plus is their pricing is fairly reasonable.

sounds a lot better then how they did it....I'll post a video tomorrow on better sound clips...the guys at tanabe sound like there holding the exhaust tone at 3300 rpms or higher...trust me it sounds very clean...

jumbaco 06-15-2012 09:06 PM

damn you guys are lucky!

kinryu 06-18-2012 04:02 AM

So got the car back Friday but barely got to drive it since I work 24/7. Cars in the garage while I use my daily tsx. But let me tell say that "maaannnn, car handles like its on rails!
I got the car back with front and rear tower bars, front and rear sway bars, downpipe, gf210 springs (grip performance, great for track) and a new product that let's you adjust the brightness and sequence of how the turn signals flash (actually pretty cool once you see it in person).will post a video.
There was a brz for rd but he got coilovers and exhaust. (Wish I was able to get atleast once of those since they tested that on my car as well , but nope)

The gf210 springs are 30% more of a spring rate with a 1.5inch drop. So performance wise, these are the best tracking ones they have. Put that together with sway bars and tower bars and you basically got a go kart feeling frs!
The sound with the new front pipe gives it a deeper tone even with a stock exhaust.

Will post pix tmwr!

kinryu 06-29-2012 01:48 PM

Hi folks!
So a few weeks past since the time tanabe worked on the car. Car runs soliddd...like its on rails. The sway bar installed in the both front and rear. The tower bars make the car feel soo much more rigid. I feel less body roll and there's was barely any in the first place.
The front pipe makes the car sound more aggresive and I can feel the gain on the top end. Feels like it can breathe a lot better. The front pipe stock consists of the cat and resonator, the tanabe front pipe deletes that with a full piping. Def' a good upgrade.

kinryu 06-29-2012 01:55 PM

As for the front pipe- I might put my stock front pipe back on the car for safety reasons and personal lipreference. Will part out so just shoot me a pm and i can do something locally.

kinryu 06-30-2012 02:29 AM

Thanks for the pms. Sorry but I'm only parting out the front pipe.
