OK, so Scion has given up on selling the car to driving enthusiasts, and is now focusing on...selling to pop culture?

I liked it a lot.

Speaks to fashion enthusiasts from the clothing and auto world.

If you pay attention to current music trends, things are quite trippy these days.

Scion commercials suck. They can do so much better.

I think the driving enthusiasts already own one or at least know about it. There's no point in making an advertisement for them so they try to sell a few more by advertising to other crowds.

This is possibly the worst way to advertise a car like the FRS. That one Japanese commercial of the BRZ (the one with the dad and son) was how it should have been done.

Like the Toyota ad for the Camry with the dad and daughter? Pretty sure that got them a boat load of sales for that target market.

If Scion would go more enthusiast route rather than hipster/youngster route, they would probably do a lot better.

OP, where did you see this ad running?

I tend to agree that it is for the purpose of getting the attention of the fashionistas. That could increase sales... keep the brand alive. I don't see that as a bad thing and who really gives a crap about a terrible ad? Are you really going to stop drinking your favorite beer based on a bad TV ad? Did you drive the car before you bought it? Do you like your car? Then stop bitchin'.

Besides, if the young and rich actually start buying this car in droves, its cool factor will go WAYYY up.

I was just browsing through youtube when it popped up, clicked on it. Interesting take on it. Do I think the video is awesome? no, not really. I do like the fact that they have actual Tuner brands that I would purchase like Vortech, SSR, etc.

I also enjoy the fact that SCION is taking different approaches with their creativity. The Toyota 86 brought alot of needed sales to the SCION brand. I hope they continue to see the FRS as a car they need to fund and keep around. Notice the increase in surveys the past couple years for current SCION/Subaru owners? Well, they are listening to an extent and are putting our opinions to work.

Can someone make that 86 crown a sticker? Thanks!

I'm not quite sure what I watched, but I feel like this is a dreadlocked Derek Zoolander meets Scion FRS. I like it, but I think I would have liked it more if it was actually Derek Zoolander; this comes off as a little too serious. Maybe the guy should have blue steeled the camera harder or something... Haha!
