Bendy Bumper
 

So last night, I was pulling up to a parking space between two cars from the right side, I saw that the parking spot looked like it had no concrete parking block thing. When turned to the spot, I guess my car was too low to see it from my angle so I hit it(thinking there was no block, I concentrated on parking my front about the same length as the other cars around me.). :(

I was really bummed out cause I practically spent all afternoon detailing my car. Luckily, I was able to bend it back and I just have some scuff marks now. No paint cracked on my bumper or bend marks, so I'm glad about that. :)

Whoever decided to be cheap and use one block for two spots, you are evil to me! Now I will be extra paranoid for these things when I park. :cry:

Got lucky that you escaped with just a few scuffs from that. That bent a lot!


Be glad you're in SoCal. Everyone up here who has clipped the littlest things has ended up with destroyed bumpers. They get so brittle in the cold.

Can't believe only "some scuff marks" resulted from picture exhibit A... I'm amazed how flexible that bumper is! From the picture it looked pretty bad...

Yeah, when i got out of the car, I expected a huge crack on my lip. So glad just minor damage. It was pretty hot lately, so I guess I am grateful for the weather.

Yeah, I was very much scared to look at my damage after I turned off the car. I think my bumper would have popped off. My mechanic helped me fix that headlight clip problem I used to have. :)

Nope! That's why I never expected it there. If it was common, I would have been wary of this happening. It's usually one block for each spot or none at all.

Yeah, it was pretty amazing! I still need to check out my car though. I haven't really fully inspected it today. (I haven't left my house yet today. haha)

yeah! I should, thanks for the warning! :) My brother drove my car once and actually bumped the front on a curb when parking too! It hurt so bad when I heard it, but luckily it was just a little scrape on the 2 front points of the bumper.

Avoid del mar -_- that road north of valley is a roller coaster of bumps!

Well, I haven't really checked it well... yeah... it might have more damage. I'll check and try to take pics.
Not the first time my bumper bent like that. I have hit these kind of blocks before when I had a very cheap front lip and when I was not used to being lowered an how much space I had in the front. Now that I was used to being low, I got an expensive painted lip. This time was the worst I've seen it bent. :cry:
I don't think I will be fixing this anytime soon. I spent too much on my car to afford fixing it. :(

Oh my gosh, the part after passing Hawaii Supermarket, my coilovers make tons of noises there. >_<

I see quite a bit of 1 bumper for 2 spot in vegas, so when I park my car I parked it so my wing mirror only goes up to the B pillar of the car next to me. Give it a Try!:cheers:

But driving without headlights on is dangerous though! I've done the same and passed cops before. Then I realize I forgot until after I passed the cops. Never got a ticket luckily. lol
My husky hasn't shed much (only when brush him, lots of fur comes off). Maybe it's cause mine is long haired or maybe he just hasn't started shedding a lot yet. :iono:

I take del mar North to get to work, good thing I get on del mar after that part. I try to avoid there as much as possible. >_<

What lip is it? Poly-urethane? abs?

Lip is Greddy gracer, it's made out of urethane. (probably same material as oem bumper)

Don't worry, take your time. I don't imagine anyone being too excited to inspect closely for any further damage... XD

It just hurts too much, especially if you're OCD like me. Lol

dude you got lucky. i would expect the paint the crack given its thickness.
