Your thoughts on CWP's potential?

Hello,

I'd like to introduce myself as a new BRZ owner from the Bay Area. This is essentially my dream car (excluding unaffordable ones) and I'm coming from a '14 Accord Sport in white orchid pearl, I'm just now appreciating the idea of having a 6MT as a daily driver and so far thoroughly enjoy having to take the car out for any reason.

I purchased a '15 BRZ Limited 6MT in CWP - I considered DGM and WRB and while I truly appreciate the colors in person, I could only appreciate WRB on some days, not permanent ownership, and DGM seems to only catch my attention when the sun's glaring at it and I'm nearby enough to see the distinction in the body lines.

So here I am with CWP, while having a BRZ in general is amazing since they all look great, owning another white car is slightly underwhelming as I feel the other colors hold my attention better when considering stock, even tho CWP is the safe choice no matter the angle/setup while I find the other color setups way too overdone. I obviously plan to tint it as well. In that regard, the compilation threads are full of great looking DGM/WRB cars while SWP is full of stock setups, does anyone have good pictures of how well white can look when the same amount of money is put in? I'm having a difficult time finding a configuration that really stands out.

Here's a picture of the BRZ, I've so far considered an STI front lip and not quite sure on wheels, blacked out wheels are great in person but there are very few 86s in my area and I only get ideas from pics which don't do justice -_-

I wish they still have SWP, cuz it's an amazing color. CWP is nice and all but it's obviously less pearl. Plus side is it's easier to paint match but it just doesn't glow like SWP.

Not a huge fan of showing too much pearl esp in pics, the glow in person is already significantly better compared to Honda's "White Orchid Pearl".

It's swp and not cwp, but close enough. Welcome to the club.

Thanks! Glad to be in. I thought '15s were CWP? Haven't been following quite as long as everyone else.
and haha no worries, it wasn't on the block xD

Turbo95eg6 03-13-2015 06:43 AM

Color has nothing to do with the desire to mod it or not... It's all in your head. And yeah, your bumper isn't gonna last long parking like that, above the block or not.

funwheeldrive 03-13-2015 11:48 AM

Lightning Red baby.

15s are cwp. He was saying his car that he linked is swp to give you an idea of white but to clarify his was not cwp

To be clear, the bumper is not on or next to the block in real life, lol. There's plenty of room in between. True, I was just looking for examples of how diff color combinations look on CWP.
This isn't my parking either if anyone cares I'm not in the lines haha.

Ah I should've interpreted it sooner.

kch 03-13-2015 04:51 PM

I feel the CWP looks really good if you go with the stormtrooper look (like the series.blue - white with black accents). If you don't want to go for the black lips at the bottom, then you could go with black wheels and a black vinyl-wrapped roof. Or even the TRD louvers! I bet those would look good.

I got CWP and don't regret it for a second. Also, it seems to attract much less attention from police.

meWant 03-13-2015 05:03 PM

I have a CWP myself and it won out between that and the WRB just barely, but I don't regret it. and like kch said, it does seem to attract less attention from the police even with the "mods" that I have done like smoked tails and gold wheels (plastidipped stockers).

I'll get you a pic soon. once I get the pics over onto my laptop lol

Goz 03-13-2015 10:58 PM

I'm a fan of CWP. I think i'm going to go TRD louvers. Nobody has them and even though 90% of people hate on them from being so old school, I think they will look dope. I think white is probably the only color car I would put the louvers on though.

Kerune 03-14-2015 02:30 PM

Thanks fellas,

I don't regret not getting WRB although DGM hits hard on the feels lol. It's a matter of how I want this car to look of course since it's stock, I just have a difficult time looking through the pics to get an idea of how to go about it.

Turbo95eg6 03-14-2015 03:01 PM

Damn dude, stop overthinking it. I still don't understand what you're tripping about.

Difficult to interpret on a forum. I'm not worried at all, initially I was just asking how white looks with certain contrast and some people provided responses. Still looking for ideas tho.
To be fair, idk how you can't understand it as there are tons of people in this forum that wonder what color they should pick and how they'd go about it.

hmong337 03-14-2015 04:58 PM

I regret not getting whiteout. The ultramarine is underwhelming. Plus the whiteoit would match well with my superwhite mr2.

people who are reasonable may just recognize louvers inhibit dirt from being effectively washed away from the rear area in which it covers.. haven't seen much hate on the TRD ones in particular except for complaints on the price tag (totally unfounded.. can only imagine the manufacturing and logistics/shipping costs of those things)

Besides being partial to white cars all my life, Pearl white is a color someone should own at least once.

You can use this image as an inspiration just like I did. Don't know how far I'll get but I'm keeping mine classy with strictly only OEM parts (minus that wing).

Much appreciated for this response. That's a type of picture that does the car and color justice. How far along are you? I'm considering the whole kit though not sure about the STI wheels quite yet, wish I could've just found a series.blue actually, it's a great amount of black on white.

Sick looking car.

Do you have the 17s or the 18 inch wheels?

I'm planning on eventually selling my 17s and getting 18 inch wheels from japan parts

Not very far, I've been taking my time. Just the STI springs, lip, exhaust tips and fender garnishes. I'm on the fence about those side skirts, makes the sides look higher off the ground... Might just rock mud flaps. I wouldn't be able to live with myself with the interior in a series blue.

Yeah I'm not a fan of black wheels wither, but they make them 18" in gunmetal or silver.

Ah alright, I've thought about a few of those such as the lip and springs. The skirts are tough since I feel like I'd have to get the whole set.

Honestly, pictures do not do this color justice, when I see mine in person it looks great but I can rarely find a pic that I like of the pearl white. Really difficult to see the wheels in em and man it makes it tough to decide haha. Are you going for a gunmetal or silver?
