Who's tired of the "Pedal Dance" and wants to be in real control of their car?
So for those of us who track our car's a lot and start pushing the limits with tires and brakes have found out traction may be off on the dash but not inside the brains of the car holding you and your times back. When Autocrossing who has hit the first turn to realize you forgot to turn the darn traction control off and have now just thrown away a very important run? I know I have.... :bonk::bonk: Anyway this neat little box plugs into the ODBII port and disables the Traction/VSC completely. Leave it installed full time for the trailer queen race car, or plug in at the beginning of your fun filled day at the track or autocross. The 86 Traction / VSC Eliminator for the Scion FR-S, Subaru BRZ, and Toyota GT86 is the perfect track accessory. This will fully disable traction and VSC without having to do the famous pedal dance. This device AUTOMATICALLY places your vehicle into the famed "Pedal Dance" mode (without any dancing required). In this mode both Traction Control and Vehicle Stability Control are fully disabled. The device plugs into the ODB II port. To engage the vehicle needs to be stopped and the RPM at normal idle (not warming up) to dis-engage the VSC/TRAC. When the ignition is off the device draws minimal power and can be left in place. http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/imag...eliminator.jpg http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/imag...iminator-2.jpg |
VICTORY! Can you unplug it afterwards and it will stay activated?

Am I correct in assuming that when this is plugged in you lose the ability to datalog?

what is the cost of this unit

Not a bad price. I'll have to invest in this product for my first track day

Meh. So much data acquisition is based on OBD input (see data log question above). If this had a pass-through I might jump on it. Even better if it allowed my OBD reader to be hooked up and was a right angle pass though (the BRZ OBD port isn't in a very good spot).

I agree data logging parameters is important but you shouldn't need that every single event/session especially when time matters.
All tuning and everything else should be long sorted out before your important runs or session is made. |

I wonder of it could share the bus though... Y cable? C |
The elimination of datalogging makes this completely useless to any serious trackday or autocross enthusiast...
Does it eliminate the e-diff and EBD as well? |

This should be able to be configured with a pass through function.
Can this be brought up with the manufacturer? Furthermore, can this be built into the ecutek software? |

1) Pivot gauge reading oil temp and coolant temp 2) AIM Solo DL configured to read 4 parameters: real-time lap temp, delta vs best previous lap time, coolant temp, and oil temp The "when time matters" part is ESPECIALLY important to have AIM Solo or other real-time timing in place to help monitor lap times. I can't say how many people have the regular vs DL, but when I'm trying to push a personal best it's very useful to know which parts of the track I'm slower at in real time instead of downloading data in the pits. As mentioned already, a Y-splitter won't work. I bought one and now have a $20 paperweight in my garage. The pedal dance takes me about 10 seconds to do, 5 if I'm fast. YMMV. -alex |

forum begs for device so we dont have to dance on pedals
after 2+ years, device presented. forum bitches it doesn't make coffee lol...at least we're going in the right direction |
<rant>
Unfortunately, the incompatibility of this product with the most common forms of data logging means that this product is unlikely to be used by the people who are justified and qualified to make use of it. I fear that this product will end up being a tool of the idiot who imagines their street car to be a race car after they slam it to the ground and do other inadvisable things to its suspension and then starts stuntin and splodin it on the streets. </rant> |

Can we get a "stuntin and splodin" official subforum or maybe just a t shirt Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk |
Very nice device and great price!
However.... countdown to reverse engineering ... 5, 4, 3...... (if I had my hands on one we would be at 0). There is a unit available in Japan for $350 that was probably rev-engineered for this one (just a guess). Once we know what OBD commands it sends/responds to, we can make a tactrix do it relatively quickly and would likely be able to continue logging. |
Or you can spend 2 seconds and do the pedal dance. Gawd...I hate moving after working out just my right leg and right arm.
|
I HAVE to be able to use the solo DL. Can't use this thing.

Am I correct in understanding this device also still leave ABS functional?

Most of the time I start up the car 5 minutes early and drive around the paddock to make sure everything else is warmed up. I have a LSD too. ;) |

For:
1/ Saves time doing pedal dance. Yay! I have an extra 10 seconds to play with! 2/ Reduces weight of wallet therefore increasing power to weight. (Ok, I know strictly speaking it's power to mass.) 3/ Has bragging rights before the prang on the street and automatically disappears from conversation after. Against: 1/ Can't use Aim OBD connection. 2/ Of limited practical use to me given the expertise I have in pedal dancing. To become as proficient as me just watch some Riverdance clips. Music is optional. 3/ Device doesn't come in colour options so there is little chance of getting it to match my racing underwear. You know the ones? Its the type with the brown racing stripe down the middle at the back. |
@FT-86 SpeedFactory will it work on AT transmission?

It was already said in this thread that data loggers don't work with OBD splitters. Quote:
