2014 or 2015 BRZ Limited? Price?
Hi all!
I'm looking to buy a new BRZ and have heard that demand for these have dropped since most people snagged them up when they came out. I'm debating whether I should pick up a 2014 and try to get a good deal or whether it's worth just getting the 2015 with all the changes it's had. After looking at some listings on Autotrader, I found a 2014 BRZ Limited in WRB w/ 219mi and 1b option package for $24.9k and a 2015 BRZ Limited in WRB and wheel locks for $25.9k. I'm using those prices to negotiate prices with dealers around me and am also trying to see if I can bring those prices down further since I heard that some of y'all got 2014s for $23.9k and $24.5k in 2014. I'm having a hard time getting dealers to come down on their prices. Any tips for negotiating further? And which year should I go for? Heuburger Motors quoted me $25.1k for a 2014 Limited; should I try to see if they'll come down on their price? Thanks for the help! |
Here we go again....
To answer your question, you will probably not find a better price than what Heuberger is quoting you. I bought my Series.Blue with them and they were the best price by far. They do a great job of taking care of potential buyers, it's hard pressed to find any dealer like them. Unless you get lucky and you find that your local dealer are just as good, then good for you. I would go for the 2015, especially if it's that little of a price difference. The fact that the 2015 has has a bit better suspension, sharkfin antenna, new key fob and etc. The WRB on the 2015 is a shade darker than previous WRB also. Otherwise, good luck with your purchase! |
They're selling the limited for 25k? That's pretty freakin cheap

I got my Limited '14 BRZ from heuberger not too long ago. Best bet with them and super easy to deal with.

Unless you are partial to the newer color, or feature there's not much difference between the two. So there are other factors to consider...
I selected a 2014 Limited over a 2015 because of the available Subaru financing. I got 0% financing for up to 72 months that was not available if I selected a 2015. My credit union and no other bank was willing to offer that rate. Unless your are purchasing the car out-right, factor in trade value (assuming a trade), finance rate, insurance cost, and you should always offer less than the price the dealer quotes you. At least, that's my approach to buying a car. :) |

Ended up getting a Sterling Silver '14 BRZ Limited for $24k OTD and delivered to my house (300 miles) from Grayson Subaru in Knoxville, TN. Delivery is supposed to happen today. Looking forward to driving it!!

Wow that's a great price. Good job! was this new? |
Yup. Brand new with 46 miles on the odometer. Also came with cargo tray and autodimming mirror.
|
wow, you got your car for cheap... I was sort of in the same situation, but I liked the extras on the 2015 way better than the previous years. not to mention I qualified for the 0.9% APR so it wasn't that bad at all.

Edit: minor changes to suspension, too. |
I believe the suspension has also been tuned a little differently for 2015

Dealer here in Queens, NY gave me my 2015 BRZ Limited (Manual) for 28.5 out the door (after taxes/fees). Wouldn't give me a lower interest rate unless I bought gap insurance to cover depreciation in case of theft, so total was 30k financed over 5 years with 2.9% interest. This was based on my credit alone as a 23 year old, no co-signers.

I'm just curious: Is the "sharkfin" antenna any better than the old ones on the 2013 and 2014 models? I personally think the "sharkfin" looks cheesy, so I'm just curious if it's somehow better electronically. Does it get better reception, etc?

i got my 14 brz for 23. but i looked long and hard for months to find the perfect deal before i bought mine. i wasn't going to buy anything until i found the deal that made me go "thats exactly what im looking for" with no doubt.

Doubt it's better. The OEM sharkfin is nicer than the aftermarket covers though as it's smaller and not as obvious. |

There's something not quite right about that new shark fin antenna. Maybe it's too big? The previous stubby antenna looks better IMO. Other improvements in the 2015 outweigh this minor deficit, though. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Also, 2015 interior for BRZ have the nice faux carbon dash panel, instead of the shiny aluminum thing. Much nicer in my opinion. |
Hey guys, I just bought my BRZ yesterday. After reading this thread and others I'm trying to decide if I got a decent deal or not. I don't think I got ripped, but idk if I got a deal.
2014 BRZ Limited (1 owner) 5,800 miles. I got it for 24,000 with taxes, handling fee etc I paid almost exactly 25,000 otd. |

You perhaps could have gotten a bit better deal, but I wouldn't worry about it. Just enjoy owning and driving an awesome little car.
For reference, I paid 25k OTD on a brand new 2014 in March. |

They were asking 25,300. I got them down to 24,000 flat. After local taxes, and dealer fee's I paid 25,000 out the door. |

Hmm this is "used" but had 5,800 miles on it. But you got a better deal, I paid 25 also.. I guess it wasn't the deal of the century but I didn't overpay IMO. thanks for the replies |

Just looked over the paperwork. 24,500 for the car. taxes, fee's OTD is 25,500. But they included a 7 year 100K mile bumper to bumper on top of the powertrain warranty. And 6 free oil changes. I feel ok about it. Car is a blast to drive |
