$11,000 Fr-S!?

Ok, sure it's automatic and that's a turn off. But "Warranty in place" vehicle has low miles, too. Are we really at this price point already? Glad I only paid $21k after all taxes, licensing, add-on warranties and gap

Salvage/rebuilt title.

I didn't even click on the link, someone will check the VIN and confirm.

Edit: I'm wrong, looks sketchy being listed at a bunch of different dealerships...

Edit: I'm dumb, looks like it was a demo car, sold at 177 miles, serviced at 4k and traded in at 12k.

You do realize how Ebay works right? They will just relist the car again and wait for the right buyer.

Turbo95eg6 03-03-2015 01:41 PM

Is this real life?

strat61caster 03-03-2015 02:09 PM

Worth noting all the dealerships I link want something like $22k, expect the reserve to be $20k.

nickmerronesucks 03-03-2015 02:11 PM

my anus hurts

Obja 03-03-2015 03:08 PM

i remember my first time using eBay

stugray 03-03-2015 03:14 PM

If you just check Cars.com for used, there is a 2013 BRZ, Manual with 6500 miles for $17K. (NOT Ebay)

pinski 03-03-2015 03:23 PM

Price for this car at the stealership is $21990.

Celadrielas 03-03-2015 03:39 PM

ok, so A) Not my first time using Ebay. B) I used the claim system at work to verify title is clean. C) It's being sold by a dodge dealer, but reserve is not met which I knew.

Yes it's real life, no I am not trolling, yes it is a talking point, and yes I already own a FRS which I paid less than 20k for before taxes and dealer add-ons.

Point of my question is surprise that "you" can now purchase vehicles for under 18k fairly commonly nationwide. Even for a Niche vehicle, $10 - $15k (depending on when you bought in 2013) seems to be a large depreciation for only a 2 years.

Turbo95eg6 03-03-2015 03:54 PM

Your point is still invalid, the FRS(!?) you listed is not being sold for 11K.

Let the thread die, suck it up and move on.

campy 03-03-2015 04:07 PM

If you look at the bid history, the starting price was $1.

adamg 03-03-2015 05:38 PM

$11K?! i thought these engines alone were worth $20k from the dealer

Watch out, there was a big flood in Daytona last September, never know.

The car MSRP is approximately $26k. Not considering tax, title licesne that's a depreciation of roughly $8k over 3 years, less than $3k per year or ~11%.

Some people would KILL for depreciation like that. If you accept the numbers above at 3 years we are looking at 69% of the value is retained (only two months away from confirming that), that's absurdly good for a sports car.

http://www.kbb.com/new-cars/best-res...le-sports-car/

And scraping the bottom of the barrel, there are cars out there that drop 30% in one year (although the timing of this article probably has an impact)
http://www.dailyfinance.com/photos/n...#!slide=982011

Call my numbers bogus, lets pretend it takes $30k to buy this thing and your down to $18k, you're still at 60% compared to the Camaro's 56% in the link above.

Maybe I'm crazy but the reality is it's not as bad as it could be and actually quite good if you're expectations are set conservatively.

dem00n 03-03-2015 08:03 PM

I rather buy one with hail storm damage for $14-15k.

Good track car right there...

You could probably get that one pretty cheap.

This helps me. So thank you for this. I'm ignorant, not stupid, and all too often people seem to think them the same thing. I suppose I didn't take into account the market factors. Again thank you.
