Anyone interested in the Griffon ? Aka The 14r60
Hello Everyone, as you all know, Toyota has released the latest (and sadly) limited edition 14r60, making us mainstream owners away from our reach. :( I went to my dealer and asked if it was possible to get it the body parts as spare, but it was nowhere to be found, as his system won't provide details on the JDM model, or any car in that matter. He then asked if I could provide a VIN number for such model, as maybe he could find it on the system, which also something which I couldn't get.

I mean, how is it not Beautiful?

Does anyone on the other side can help us? :mad0260:

Only 100 were produced and sold on a lottery. I don't think they would be creating extra aero parts for it.

According to @troek, you can get the wing and brake kit from a toyota dealership in Japan.

Does anyone know what the weight is per wheel?

Looks riced out to me |
I'd love to get my hands on that rear end, and the scoop looks good. Even though the front end looks slightly elongated, it does look a lot better than the Nismo 370z's, IMO
If start parts will be nearly impossible to get, maybe some Japanese can provide donor car for to make molds. I'm just so hobby for that aero... |
All of that and you only get the crappy base headlights?
|
Sales for the 14R Street edition started last month, parts from that car may be more readily available since its not sold in limited quantities like the 14R60 Track. We'll probably see the pieces on japanparts once these cars start hitting the streets.

I want the front canards from the track edition.

FWIW the only major differences between the track and street are the roof, front bumper, and the fenders. |
The 14R needs another spoiler, maybe 2 more actually
|
Thanks to the power of google, I have finally found pictures of the 14R in the wild.

it's beautiful
|
So I'm in Japan right now does anyone want me to check the local dealership for any of this stuff?
|
Ill take the wing, the front bumper, and the rear diffuser.
|
Love the wheels, not crazy about the huge spoiler.
|
i like the side skirts. thats about it

Rear bumper, diffuser, and side skirts please. hopefully you will have better luck than me, I contacted japanparts recently and they said they weren't able to get any info. |
That roof is just gorgeous, but that's too bad that the street edition doesn't include it.
|
Yeah I'll let you guys know how it goes, but I don't really know much Japanese so it will be interesting
|
Any of you guys have a pic of the underside? What to see how the center exit exhaust was designed. No luck from mr..google. thanks
|
If youre in Japan they have it on display at the Megaweb toyota universal car display (albeit its not raised so you wont be able to see clearly underneath). Took several pics of it from various angle. Man I love the diffuser on it

It's possible to get the whole 14R setup, front lip, rear bumper, real diffuser, side skirt, centered exhaust. Pricy but not hard to get.
The 14R60, on the other hand, is very very very hard to get(and very expensive, like 4000-5000USD for just the front bumper), but not 100% impossible according to the person that I talked to. To me it looks like the rear is identical between the 14R and 14R60, but the 14R60 got a unique front bumper and widened front fenders. |

In China you can get 14R.
The official TRD distributor from Taobao.com(Biggest online sale website) sell the kit. They need to be pre-ordered. The lead time is about 3 months. I am about 99% sure that they are not replicas because I know how a replica product (for example a replica rim) looks like on Chinese online sale store. These looks real, and the seller is the official TRD distributor. I am a little sad that there are a lot of replicas in the market but no one make any of these kit and sell to the United State. . |
Those wheels are badass!

And that's before any international shipping charges. As for selling these kit in the US...I'm sure anything is possible if there are enough demand and willingness to pay for these.. |
Wow, almost $1k per wheel. Yeah, I'll stick with my Enkeis.

With the info you shared im planning to buy from this site. How can i check if the seller is selling legit trd stuffs? Appreciate it |

Just to be sure.. i purchased first the valve cover
And here is where i am a bit suspicious... I forgot how to post pic, will try to find an image hosting site... but to share, the valve cover purchased on the link shared above came in a generic box... no trd papers or markings.... 2nd is if you look at the underside of the valve cover, i can still see the subaru toyota embossed... it seems if this is really a legit trd item, trd just sanded the top pf the valve cover and covered it with the cf trd label.... hope this is really orig Can anyone share a image hosting site so i can share the pics here |
