nitrous

Would the boxer handle nitrous well

old greg 06-10-2012 07:47 PM

Well, there are no welds on the intake manifold to blow, so that's a good sign.

:laughabove:

RWD-boxer 06-10-2012 08:49 PM

You'll blow yourself to pieces.

the_3d_man 06-10-2012 10:52 PM

You'll shoot your eye out. Wait... what are we talking about?

slow_frs 06-10-2012 11:01 PM

Okay guys bashing this guy for askin bout nitrous is downright wrong, yes te motor will handle a small shot about 50-75, 75 being the most is do, HKS ran it, only problem is the Ecu will notice the increase in torque and will pull timing and dump fuel because it has a torque limit on it so once the Ecu can be tuned then yes nitrous will be a good route

slow_frs 06-10-2012 11:03 PM

And for those of you talking bout te plastic intake manifold.... That's complete bs, I've ran 125 shot on both my tc,s before going turbo, also on my buddies ls1, so long as the nitrous is only used during WOT and above I'd say 3500 rpms, it will be good also letting off the spray between shifts

Move along, nothing to see here.

TMayes86 06-13-2012 01:57 PM

Nitrous is just silly...

Saber_TRD 06-13-2012 04:05 PM

As my friend always says, "No bottle, just balls and throttle.".

Zardoman 09-14-2012 03:30 PM

I like the idea only use it when I need it, keep my gas mileage and daily driving normal.

Does anyone ever really "need it?";)

Should be fine if you keep it small.

There is a lot of people that do not know what they are doing and if they see a 50 shot kit for 400$ that's all they think they need.

ModBargains 09-21-2012 04:03 AM

The stock motors should be able to handle at least 50 shot of "nozzzz" easily. However, I would recommend upgrading the internals if you plan to go any higher than that or use it more often. Sure, sometimes people get away with using 150 shot of "nozzzz" on a stock block. But every time you press that button, you better be prepared to shell out money to rebuild the block because there's always that chance.

I use to own a sohc civic '92 and go through a bottle a week for 3 months straight without any issues but it ends up being expensive... Never had any issues just do it and let us know how much fun you have!!!!!
