You didn't say it was limited to 86s, does this mean you'll help me cut the springs on my SAAB? Someone told me my current lowering solution isn't "safe" :D

Thanks, sent him an email :party0030:

DarrenDriven 02-21-2015 02:18 PM

I can't get hooked up on RCE, but that CL ad looks like a great deal. I contacted him as well, to buy those if you don't. :)

I've got both of you guys on the list... let me know if you want to get pulled off of it.

DarrenDriven 02-22-2015 12:40 AM

Picked up the RCE Yellow's for @Andrew025, so they are here at the shop waiting for his car -- assuming it doesn't tip over first. :)

...cause it's so tall. Get it?

Depends on how many people we get signed up. I want to do just springs because they are faster... with coils you have to install them, remove the jacks, measure, throw it back up and adjust the coils, then you can call it complete. If we don't get too many people on the list then I would consider some coilover installs, too.

DarrenDriven 02-23-2015 07:39 PM

I currently have these springs on the shelf ready for install:
$220 NEW - Tein S.Tech 1.3/1.0 springs (part SKQ54-AUB00 / $295 retail)
$240 USED - Swift Sport 1.1/1.0 springs (part 4T909 / $399 retail)
$260 NEW - Eibach Sportline 1.4/1.4 springs (part 4.10582 / $323.10 retail)
$280 NEW - H&R Super Sport 1.2/1.4 springs (part 54408-77 / $369.00 retail)
ON HOLD - RaceComp RCE Yellow (part RCR-BRZ-YELLOW / $349 retail)

thehapaone 02-23-2015 07:51 PM

I have some Eibach Pro Kits on stock struts if someone wants to just swap out stock for lowered unless Darren doesn't want that in which case PM me or you know I can have Darren Remove them and install them on your struts ;)

Aztec 02-23-2015 07:53 PM

What about getting some tails sprayed red while lowering ;) would love to come out to hang and that gives a good excuse

Brandon, do you want to store those at my house with a For Sale tag on them? I will definitely be able to move them for you... then I could return to you the stock struts that came off the noob's car.

I won't have any time to spare during the lowering process. I had to force myself to take a 30 minute break in the middle for pizza during the last marathon install.

I don't mind spraying some tails for you some other time, though. PM or text me!

wrohdejr 02-23-2015 10:04 PM

I missed the last event. I would love to attend this one to hang out and meet the new kids on the block!!

I'm thinking I'll do the same thing if I'm not busy that day.

NO

I'm thinking about driving down for this to get the RCE Yellows installed.
Would you guys be able to install the rear camber adjustment bushing kit as well then?

DarrenDriven 03-05-2015 04:35 PM

Is it the RCE rear camber bushing kit? That requires removal of the upper control arm... not something I want to tackle on a day where we are doing many installs in a row. We could do that some other day, probably. I haven't installed one of those yet... does it need a press? I don't have one.

It is.
Sounds like it needs an air hammer.
I'm still not sure I really want/need that camber kit.

Alright, I think I will be coming to get just the springs installed.
Please add me to the list.

Chen 03-05-2015 09:00 PM

Lol people look like they just want an excuse to hang out and booze.

Yotamansteve 03-06-2015 12:26 AM

When is this event?

DarrenDriven 03-06-2015 01:39 AM

This event doesn't have a date yet, depends on getting at least eight people signed up for getting their cars lowered.

Chen 03-06-2015 03:50 AM

At this rate. People might end up making their own time slots and seeing you Darren

If I remember correctly the upper control arm and the toe arm both need a press to remove the existing bushings. Same with the front. Most other non-suspension bushings don't need a press, like differential and steering rack. I have all the bushings, and while cheap to buy you pay a little in labor. This is why some people spend more on a new adjustable rear control arm and install it themselves. Costs about the same either way, unless you have a shop install the rear control arms then they cost more.

stockysnail 03-06-2015 11:47 AM

I'm in for the BBQ portion if this thing happens. I can help people with installing stuff as well since I've installed everything but my supercharger.

digital_assassin 03-06-2015 12:13 PM

I haven't been over in ages so I'll make it whenever this happens.

DarrenDriven 03-06-2015 05:38 PM

Yeah, either way I will throw a BBQ in Spring... it would just be fun to time it with another lowering day. I had a good time last year.

ipsum 03-14-2015 01:58 AM

Let's schedule this soon.
My springs arrived today :)
