Hey Everyone!

New here and just wanted to share my excitement as I just purchased a 2015 Series.Blue in WR Blue! Any words of wisdom from past owners?

Stang70Fastback 02-19-2015 05:42 PM

I have the same car! Whooo!

Ethereal05 02-19-2015 05:46 PM

*High Five*

swarb 02-19-2015 05:47 PM

auto or manual?
advice- read more, search more, don't post before searching.
too late, they already drilled your front bumper.

Ethereal05 02-19-2015 05:55 PM

Manual. This was simply a "I am new to community" post. As for the second part, I am a tad confused by what you mean? For the license plate?

Strife26 02-19-2015 05:57 PM

Also same car! Anyone know if there is a number for the series.blue Subaru support said they didn't track them. Very lame if true

Ethereal05 02-19-2015 06:05 PM

I was thinking the same thing. Something to indicate which number it is? Would have been a cool little talking point.

Stang70Fastback 02-19-2015 06:09 PM

I've tried to find some definitive answers to that question, but couldn't get an answer.

Kabong 02-19-2015 06:26 PM

Congrats on the purchase! Where did you end up finding one? The only Series.Blue I can find are all on the east coast

Ethereal05 02-19-2015 06:50 PM

Well, I picked this up at a local Carmax in Southern California. From what I can gather the car had been available for only a couple of days before I walked in and immediately had it transferred to my store (it was about 30 miles away). Funny thing is I was there simply to get my car appraised right after test driving a BRZ at a dealer. Three days later I drove this beast off the lot.

Eski 02-19-2015 06:51 PM

where in cali? i bought the white one! almost bought the blue one

Strife26 02-19-2015 06:56 PM

When I got mine in San Diego (vising gf) series.blues were everywhere here on the lots. I was considering the wrx and saw the series.blue and it was to sexy to pass on

Turbo95eg6 02-19-2015 06:57 PM

Never let the dealer wash it.

Sylvas808 02-19-2015 07:21 PM

If you don't want that CarMax logo on your car get it removed asap otherwise the paint around it will fade and then it will always be there, same with any other badges.

Alltezza 02-19-2015 07:47 PM

Please take that car max off. I don't know why dealerships always put that BS on cars.

And god your car is sexy, I wish I waited a little longer and bought my BRZ.

NyC Zn6 02-19-2015 07:54 PM

Nice ride..how are you liking it?.I personally requested the dealer to not drill holes for plates in the front, ruins the look for me.

ripper 02-19-2015 08:07 PM

man oh man how i love this color.

congrats!

Ethereal05 02-19-2015 08:13 PM

Thanks so do I! Had to have it in blue. If I am not mistaken, I believe they updated the paint for this year? Anywho, its breathtaking and I can't wait to clay and wax it.

I plan to and thanks for advice! Just haven't got around to peeling it off as well as taking the license plate frames off.

Yea, I would have preferred it not to have a front plate at all but it was already there sadly. So far I am absolutely loving car!

I am in the Inland Empire area. Sweet man! I don't know why anyone would get rid of this trim but hey, better for me and you right?

Jfheisenberg 02-19-2015 08:39 PM

Looks great! I have the same car in the same color, i had this car for about 3 weeks now and I'm loving it.

However, mine is very dirty because of all the snow and shitty weather that jersey it's been getting :( . I can't wait for the spring to wash my car and make it shine!

All Series.Blues are manual. Yeah, and shame on the bumper :(

Yeah, screw those logos. They're just vinyl stickers and will peal right off, but they tend to wear badly as well if left on.

Probably too late, and I wouldn't let CarMax touch any car (very long story)

FT86POWER 02-19-2015 09:04 PM

Words of wisdom. Def buy an Openflash tablet as its the best bang of buck performance upgrade you can get.

:D

Awesome man! It's only been a few days for me but it's amazing coming from the cars I have been driving. Was so happy to find this trim, love the blue interior. Oh, I feel for you all on the east coast. Things are getting pretty bad over there. Stay warm!

BlueSky 02-20-2015 09:46 AM

Congrats man

Do you plan on doing anything to it?

My gf mocks me cause I state at it as we walk away after parking. It's too damn sexy. Thanks Obama!

Thanks! Not planning on doing anything to it. I am one of those guys that is completely fine with stock. Just going to keep it as pristine as possible.

ScoobsMcGee 02-20-2015 02:51 PM

One of us. One of us.

Congrats on the purchase, and welcome!

kch 02-20-2015 04:19 PM

Words of wisdom: the wheels are a HUGE pain in the ass to clean. They also look dirty fairly soon after you clean them. But when they're clean, they look reaaaaaallllly good.

Don't worry so much if you scrape the lip a little bit. It happens to everyone. Any damage caused will be on the far underside and won't be visible unless you're under the car.

Get some PPF on the front of the car. I didn't and I regret it--there are a couple rock chips marring my otherwise-pristine car.

I know you said you're fine with stock, but look into replacing the lighting with LEDs (DiodeDynamics is great). I did fogs, turns, side markers, dome, trunk, reverse, and puddle lights with 6k LEDs and it makes the car look more modern and sleek.

I always get jealous every time I see a series blue, well I mostly just want the wheels lol but superb choice OP have fun!

adamg 02-20-2015 05:02 PM

Welcome

chaoskaze 02-20-2015 05:03 PM

Congrats! If you plan to keep it bone stock. get the new DRL alway on kit, Basically the only mod I would do to complete stock brz, it completes the look.
* and maybe cat back (cuz it won't touch ur warranty) lol have fun!!

Ridgerunr 02-21-2015 11:17 AM

Congrats... I have the white Series Blue, and are loving it.

Extreme86 02-21-2015 12:04 PM

1) Two words: WHEEL WOOLIES! Makes cleaning them nearly effortless.

2) It's an expensive piece and it sucks, but at least it's not the bumper itself taking the hits. I'm going to buy an extra genuine one and possibly a urethane knock off for future use if I do ever lower my car.

3) I agree on this one, but not everyone can afford it :( So far mine is clean...

4) First mod I did was to change the fog light bulbs to Nokya yellows. Factory bulbs are ugly as hell...

Kkobe2 02-23-2015 12:37 PM

Opti coat the front of your car, in WRB the small chips are very visible.

Thanks for the advice! I have been thinking about getting some PPF for the front end. The car has low miles on it and the front has some impacts but nothing too serious. I'll also take a look into those LEDs.

Stang70Fastback 02-23-2015 01:22 PM

Series.Blue owner here. My first three mods were PPF and LEDs for everything, lol.

If you replace the vanity mirror bulbs, get the DIMMEST bulb Diode Dynamics offers. I got the next step up, and my girlfriend opened it the other night to look at something and it pretty much blinded the crap out of her, lol.

Koa 02-23-2015 01:22 PM

or just save up for a real paint job when the factory paint dies off in 5 years or so.. no use opticoating a piece of crap that is the factory coat

my WRX is wrb and I'm so glad I didn't opticoat it.. a mate has his opticoated and it basically looked the same as mine after 6-7 years. The new method and materials for OEM paint just doesn't hold up. Thank stringent environmental regulations for that one!
