Luckily where I am there isn't too much snow (maybe 2-3 feet, the snow banks along the streets are higher). It just cold as ______. I feel bad for the people who have 86's in the Maritimes :(

I'm in Cape Breton right now, and its not too bad. Really glad to escape Halifax this week considering all the flooding and ice.

I move to Saint John in the summer and I'm afraid for future winters. They have over 200 cm on the ground right now IIRC.

This is a meme being shared around a local Facebook group. The car is on a road.

https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.n...bfb3aa9ccf963c

There were 3 cars stuck on the 1 series highway in view so me and a couple friends snowshoed up in the blizzard to see if they were ok. Everyone was gone and they were abandoned. Just as we were leaving a snow plow showed up plowing the way for some emergency vehicles. The plow stopped, waited a minute, then plowed the cars off into the ditches to make way for the emergency crews. My road still isn't plowed in one direction as there is literally a 12 foot high drift that spans a good 50 ft. of roadway.

Were all good though ;)

.

The first person in history to use the words "In Cape Breton" and "not too bad" in the same sentence!

I don't think thats fair, depending where you are in CB

Full disclosure: I grew up in Cape Breton and you're right it blows...

I'm in Halifax and it's been a nightmare driving this winter, my car doesnt clear the packed ice on lots of the roads. I'd hate to see what the bottom of my car looks like now.

Ya we are headed there in June to visit my wife's brother. Wife refuses to go in my car so I told her we are taking two (for that very road you showed).
Gonna try to meet up with Thorpedo for a run.

Be very careful as you will not want to leave. I have travelled to many places and San Diego ranks right at the top of the list. Coronado beach is spectacular and only one of many outstanding attractions in the area. Playing golf at Torrey pines, having dinner in the Gaz lamp district and taking in a Ball game also didn't hurt the cause. Beautiful area.

You will probably never experience the joy of a virgin iced parking lot, practising figure eights and other shiny manoeuvres until you and your car perform an ice dance so elegant and graceful that you can hear snow angels cry with joy.

Although very true (at least when you do it on purpose).

I was going for "poetic", this is my "sentimental":
If you have perpetual summer, you'll never experience that magical first day of spring when the snow has melted and the roads are thawed and dry for the first time in months; when you put your summer wheels back on and go joyriding.

headlikeahole 02-22-2015 07:47 PM

Friend of mine sent me this earlier today. He said 4 or 5 car had to be towed out and this 86 didn't fair so well.
