Which dealer to go for transmission warranty

Recently I experienced grinding when shifting from 6th to 5th at highway speed and I notice this can be cover under warranty.
Any of you had your tranny replaced and where did you go?

I have this same issue. I can 100% of the time circumvent the grinding by revmatching 1000k over what I would normally rev. Well it only exists in the morning when parked outside (or inside a parking structure overnight since I work graveyards). However, when I use the car after it's been in my garage, I have no issues. Is there more discussion on this?

EDIT: Just read this article on Southcoaste Subaru, they're the closest to me too :/ http://carbuying.jalopnik.com/subaru...ter-1685161385

This actually happen after I drove the car all day long in the middle of the day. Cruising on 15 fwy and needed to downshift because of incline and grinded everytime i downshift from 6th to 5th. I even make sure I step on clutch hard to make sure it is all the way in

DO NOT go to Quality/Larry H Miller Toyota in Corona. Perhaps try Longo, I've heard good things about them!

I realize my area is way out of your way, but I have had very good service at hollywood toyota. I have not had any major issues, but theyve replaced everything Ive ever complained about.

Also, Santa Monica Toyota is incredibly bad.

I've had good luck at DCH Torrance.

longo fixed mine. no problems ever since. DO NOT LET THEM WASH IT. YOU WILL GET PAINT SWIRLS

You think I'll have problem if I have my shift bushing on?

most likely not, but I really wouldn't chance it...Just not worth the massive headache it would cause if a note gets entered in the system or what not

When someone asks me for a dealership recommendation, I say South Coast Toyota, I have had a very good experience every time I've been.

hapa_kcm 02-12-2015 08:40 PM

I would go with Longo

TougeSlug 02-12-2015 09:22 PM

depends if the shift bushing caused the problem. if not, then you are fine. if so.. prepare to bend over

i had a bad experience with longo. they over torqued some bolts with accessing my tranny and didnt bolt back my grounding wire

did you take it back? give them a chance to fix it? My uncle, who has been a service manage with toyota for 25 years recommended i go to longo to get repairs. hes at a different dealer in socal and doesnt recommend his guys to work on my frs. he says they are too new for the twins and knows how picky (read anal retentive) i am about my car. so do what you will with that.

i live an hour away from them so it was not worth my time to have them check it out. my buddy owns a shop so he bolted the grounding wire back on. it seems contradicting that you tell me to go longo when you uncle says he doesnt recommend his guys to work on the frs.

oops you misunderstood me. my uncle doesn't work at longo. he works at a different dealership and told me to go to longo

ironsurfer129 02-21-2015 03:16 PM

FYI all, I took the car to longo and they replaced my transmission after testing my car out.

I have perrin and whiteline bushing on car and that didn't void any warranty.
Be prepare to leave your car for over a week.
