Fumoto Oil Change Valve Sale

1 Attachment(s)
I have no affiliation with Fumoto, but I like my oil change valve and I received the attached e-mail from them regarding a Valentines Day sale and I thought I'd share it with the forum. They're only offering 5% off, but for those thinking about getting one, it's not a bad time to buy. The code is 'Cupid15' and the URL is:

Can't recommend this valve enough. Have one on my FR-S and also my fiance's car. Great investment if you do your own oil changes and without the mess.

l0aded 02-09-2015 01:53 AM

Just installed this on my car today! Although 5% is hardly a sale, I wonder if it was supposed to be 15 since the code is Cupid15.

I don't think my "Wife will love it"

jdp530 02-09-2015 10:17 AM

I have the valves on my BRZ and F150 w/o any problems. It just takes longer for the oil to drain out since the outlet is smaller than the hole in pan.

I just go inside for an hour and let it drain fully.

kingnba6 02-09-2015 11:08 AM

anybody use these valves in areas where it snows and roads are covered with salt?

dem00n 02-09-2015 11:40 AM

I've been against these valves for three years now, I'll pony up and try one.

Sigh...

My bike has one in Minnesota for the last year. No issues to report.

How is the clearance with that 1/2 inch nipple?

gramicci101 03-17-2015 06:46 PM

It BARELY sticks out from the cover. Not even enough to fully protrude, just a tiny corner of it. I have the one with the nipple and I've had no problems.

x1UP 03-17-2015 07:13 PM

Curious. I might get one. This is because I do my own oil changes too. It'll be easier....

hardly sticks out just like gramicci, you'd have to drive over something that would scrape the entire underside to hit it. as it stands the resonator on my front pipe hangs much lower and i barely hit it.

i'm on RCE yellows so just under an inch drop.

best thing you can get to make oil changes as easy as they can get.

swarb 03-17-2015 07:36 PM

I might get one because it will make the oil changes I do myself easier. Curious.

Ridgerunr 03-23-2015 04:36 PM

I remember reading on the forester forum (traded one for brz) that subaru did not recommend this. Something about the flow being to slow and not being able to remove sludge or wherever from the engine... Who knows... I have been changing my own oil for 40+ years! drain plugs work for me.

Yep. Changed my oil a couple of weeks ago, no issues.

That's a load of crap, unless you just simply don't change oil at regular intervals.

Hey, at least my hands don't get dirty. I LIKE TO BE CLEAN.

Not to mention it takes additional time to drain since the hole is a lot smaller. I just go inside and watch TV and come back in a few hours.

Imrac 03-23-2015 11:43 PM

I have one with the short nipple, s version I believe.

I just jack the car up, take my 3 gallon used oil container, slip a 6 inch hose on the drain valve and dump directly into the container. Come out 30 minutes and refill.

ok im just salty, fumotos are awesome & I wish I had one

brandonblt2 03-24-2015 11:20 AM

You guys with the valve is it possible to change the oil without jacking up the car? Like how hard is it to turn the valve, I'm pretty thin and can reach the oil pan without lifting my car. I'm considering this if I can knock out one more step in changing my oil.

gramicci101 03-24-2015 11:22 AM

Actually turning the valve is easy. Fitting a drain pan and my arm under the car is less easy.

Until you lower your car.... Valve is super easy to twist. I have the one with the nipple for the clear hose attachment which makes it so easy to drain.

I'd say play with the valve a few times before you install it, so you know how it turns, but it doesn't really matter. Every 7500 miles I have to figure it out all over again.

HATED1 03-24-2015 01:35 PM

I have had mine on for 50,000 plus miles, car is lowered, drove through snow, 2 inches of rain, no problems. I'll changes done in 15 min.

robot 04-13-2015 07:56 PM

There is a short nipple version now: http://www.fumotousa.com/parts.php?p...&partnumber=46

dirtymax 04-13-2015 11:28 PM

fumoto valves are awesome. Have been on my Jeep and duramax forever with no problems.

I started this thread and they're having another 10% off sale now, so it's not a bad time to buy if you've been holding off for a sale:
