RomRaider

Ok Ok :iono:

I've searched for the last hour. Can SOMEONE help me get my Romraider setup properly? I got it installed, but I can't get it to open anything. WHAT in THE blue hell am I not doing right?

Kodename47 01-31-2015 05:33 PM

Probably not added a definition file. First important question, tactrix or Oft?

itsjustdavep 01-31-2015 05:51 PM

OFT @Kodename47

DO NOT USE DEFS FROM ROMRAIDER GITHUB SITE WITH OFT TUNES

read tune tweaks post below

itsjustdavep 02-01-2015 12:55 AM

So do I load the defs, then open a map?

yes, you only need to load the one def corresponding to your oft rom calid

the definition tells romraider where the tune tables are located in the rom hex code, the locations are different for each rom type.

Standby. I'm new to this. I will say ty in advance because this is the first forum that's been nothing but helpful to me. When I was on ls1 tech they were mostly a-holes

no problem mate

just take it slow and get used to romraider and what tables look like before you start changing anything, if the tables look weird or corrupted something is incorrect dont flash the rom.

read here as well
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79152

then probably read the rest of the links relitive to oft below

Toyota John 02-03-2015 04:22 PM

You have to link the definitions file through romraider. I think it is in setup top somewhere.

itsjustdavep 02-03-2015 04:24 PM

I finally got it that night.

itsjustdavep 02-10-2015 11:30 PM

You upload the defs (XML files) from OpenFlash supplied in the folder, not the one that's in RomRaider's folder. Make sure the cal matches or it won't open when you use your original stock file. Load the XML def based on your CAL and then open it with your stock tune that OpenFlash Tablet has stored and it should open. Do you know your CAL ID number?

Do you go to the Orlando 86 weekly meets? (on facebook). I'm sure someone there could help you.

poolboy54 07-16-2015 08:09 PM

Alright. I'm using v2.08 xmls from openflash but nothing's showing up

poolboy54 07-16-2015 11:51 PM

Nevermind. I figured it out. Thanks!
New question though. I atempted to put my new tune on my car, it started up then died.... Is there a special way to save the tune before installing?

I don't. Sadly. Work prohibits lol.

I'm getting "ERROR - Checks failed" box, saying ROM image may corrupt or has been hex edited manually. The checksum can be corrected when the ROM is saved.
Is this normal or should I redownload the defs?

not all oft tuned roms are checksum corrected so you often get this error when opening.

romraider will correct it or oft\ofm will correct it when you load rom into oft

Thanks, Steve
I'll eventually get this thing working haha

Question on right/wrong defs. I'm working with @Wayno defs/tune for A/T cars. When I open the oft tune using the oft def, there are lots of missing tables that he modified. If I use his def for the same tune, the missing tables are there. Is this safe?
Second question. How do you copy and paste tables? I can edit okay, but I can't paste tables or large chunks of values.

i dont know which defs your using but if they match you rom calid and when you look at some known tables like OL FUEL TABLES and BASE TIMING B and they look ok you should be fine

the oft defs are a bit behind the romraider defs hence the missing tables.

However read the Romraider Tips link below

Due to the OFT definitions being older, I have created a compete set of G series (all based on A01G) and C series (all based on B01C). This is using my newer defs and I've added LC/FFS to them all.

OFT C Series Defs
OFT G Series Defs

I assume that even the old ZA1J700# files are still based on these newer files, correct me if I'm wrong and I'll update the zip files.

Because you're mixing the OFT defs with mine. None of the tables I modified are missing from my defs because I made them all consistent. The OFT defs have table name inconsistencies between regions and transmission types.

Ensure User Level is 5 Debug Mode

Select Edit > Copy Table
Paste

Thanks

as far as i know all OFT the G series roms 700/900/A00 and even A02G are based on the A01G rom

D00G is actually D00G 2015

700I/900I are acrually A01I

E00I not yet defined does Ecutek have a def ? 2015 auto Europe/australia/SA

700/900/A00/A01/B00 in C series are all B01C

D00C is D00C 2015

Kodename47 07-24-2015 05:16 AM

I've just made the D series defs in line with my C/G series naming. I've also confirmed that these now include:
Engine Load Limits A + B
Requested Torque Base (DBW)

These are OFT definitions but will also work with normal ZA1JB01D ROMs:
OFT D Series Defs

I've been set to level 4. Debug options always scare me a little because they often assume the user knows what they are doing and remove all safeties.
The odd thing is that I seem to be able to copy and paste tables that have two axes, but not those with only one.

Well, I just loaded the Wayno-improved tune and the car started, so that's a good sign, but I had to come in and won't drive it for a few hours. I'm having trouble getting datalogging to start, so I'm a little nervous.
I don't care about the startup noise so I ignored those tables. They don't affect anything else, do they?

Kodename47 07-24-2015 09:12 AM

If its just 2/3 cells then you have to highlight and then copy and paste that way.

Anyway, I have just added a couple of missed tables to the auto definitions and now included I series below:
OFT I Series Defs

This now means that you can compare across any of the 2 biggest markets (US & Euro/Aus/JDM), both Auto and Manual. I have also named the base definition file RR_CALID which means that that definition can be used on any opensource ROM, OFT_CALID are OFT definitions only. That was done to remove any confusion. If you downloaded the zip files before now, please re-download as they have just been updated. These are setup with my own categories, designed to make navigation a little easier.
