Matt Farah drives a Vortech Supercharged BRZ

I'm sure by now it's been posted and re-posted, but just in case you haven't seen it, Matt Farah takes a Vortech Supercharged BRZ up to Angeles Crest. Makes for some pretty good entertainment:

Anyone else really annoyed with how he keeps calling it a "burz"?

yomny 01-27-2015 05:24 PM

he's trying to make it stick.. like that "so fetch" crap from mean girls.. sorry my wife was watching it yesterday.

tahdizzle 01-27-2015 05:29 PM

What I always found odd was why the GTO is called a goat :P

Whomever started that, definitely got it to stick.

But back on topic. How many twins has he driven? We saw the one with an ecutek tune, now this one.

He drove the Crawford turbo gt86 as well. In this video he often insulted the cars inability to work well during the test drive which I found comical

M23 01-28-2015 12:35 AM

He looks like he loves to eat lots of burgers and donuts; and, jacks off all day.

Can't blame him. So do I.

ronboogieon 01-28-2015 02:59 AM

Great...Now I'm not the only idiot who calls them Burz and Furs.

Pat 01-28-2015 10:56 AM

"Willwoods are like that. They need to be warmed up."
Yeah....OK, Matt. He doesn't even know what compound the pads are. One can't know if they need to be warmed up without knowing the compound. How is this guy even a thing?

BrianJ 01-28-2015 11:20 AM

I kinda like the "burzz" but he is definetly trying to set a trend.. he is an ass but a fairly knowledgeable one at that.. I've been listening to him for a couple years now and he has driven some wicked cool shit.. and don't forget he is driving someone else's car with the owner next to him.

Yes, he's driven a lot of cool cars. And I expect someone to know more about cars with that kind of experience. I've seen his videos for a few years and they have improved dramatically. But the guy talks like he knows cars much better/more confidently than he actually does.

BrianJ 01-28-2015 12:36 PM

I can understand where your coming from but what more do you want him to know. He's not a racing driver, but he can wheel better than probably 90% of people. And he's not a mechanic/custom car builder, but he has some knowledge of those thing. But he is a journalist/on screen personality who knows how a peticular car should drive a lot better than most in his field.. I think most people expect him to be a dictionary of cars and he isn't. He is over confident, but you can't act nervous when driving others insane cars worth Lotz of money and/or someone's pride and joy. That would make said car owner nervous with him behind the wheel. Plus it doesn't really make for good video.. Idk I just think people expect too much when in reality he just another guy with a pretty cool job we would all love to do. Apologies for any bad grammar/punctuation, I don't proofread.

He seems pretty cool to me. From his videos, I like that he can appreciate various types of cars, from pony cars to BRZ's to his own C5 Corvette. He even liked an owner's modified GTI.

He also said that the car is bumpy because that always happens on a lowered car. I think he even said it is because of the rebound on the springs...

wow...

But his videos cater to 95% of the population who don't know much about car mechanics/dynamics so it works. The other 5% can't stand him.

BrianJ 01-28-2015 05:10 PM

Since I am not a suspension guy.. what does cause it?

The rebound damping abilities of the shock absorbers are primarily accountable for being able to smoothen the ride on cars with lowering springs. Stock shocks are usually lacking in this area and you get a harsh bumping ride on anything less than smooth road.

Which tires is he running? I could barely hear him
