Looking at the Brz limited '15. Help meeee

What's a good price for an Auto Limited '15 WRB color in Los Angeles area? Before tax + lic. Which dealer is good?
Help me out please. Thanks.

I was actually shopping around for that exact thing for my brother in November. (He ended up getting a 2015 BMW 320i.) The automatics are harder to come by, but you could probably get it for $27-28k. At the time, I was looking at inventories between Santa Barbara and San Diego, and I think only one had that in stock.

ARTBRZ 01-26-2015 12:13 AM

If I were you get pre-approved first at your credit union or bank. Since the price varies in every state or area of the state it's hard to suggest a good price. Also each car may have accessories added to them. Check out the the website of the dealerships. I was offered invoice price at one of the dealership in my area. You will get a better price if you're paying cash. Getting pre-approved first (not at the dealership) basically means you're paying the dealership cash/check.

Let me ask, why an auto?

Wilsonk227 01-26-2015 03:18 AM

depends what part of LA are you in and how far are you willing to drive? D:

Timmy_Jones 01-26-2015 11:40 AM

Get a stick. If you don't know how to drive a stick, this is the perfect time to learn.

iSnack0nEmoKidz 01-26-2015 12:07 PM

Probably because s/he doesn't want to clutch it thru LA traffic which is more than reasonable IMO especially if this is going to be your daily. if this is gonna be a secondary, then you should check out getting a stick. some dealerships will throw you in one of their other cars and show you how to drive a stick if you don't know how. At least in Texas they do :p

DeeezNuuuts83 01-26-2015 12:19 PM

Or maybe his lady is going to drive it too

Haha...if the wife asks to get the auto so that they can drive it, don't fall for that. That happened to the last car I bought and she drove it maybe three times in 4 years.

iSnack0nEmoKidz 01-26-2015 08:13 PM

Yeah, bad idea. Dont do it. You will regret like my friend. Lol

kdmBRZ 01-26-2015 08:39 PM

hit up Jin@Pacific Subaru in Torrace. He's my good friend. Tell him Steve with White BRZ sent ya. He can give you a good price.

or make her learn how to drive a stick by buying a stick for her next car.

DeeezNuuuts83 01-26-2015 09:33 PM

^ Personally, I'd rather not risk it. I'm already terrified enough of how my girlfriend drives an automatic. Maybe the OP is in the same boat haha.

iSnack0nEmoKidz 01-26-2015 11:23 PM

^woman drivers... Of course there is the 1% out there... I hope I find a 1% er :p

DeeezNuuuts83 01-26-2015 11:27 PM

The problem with that 1% is that many of them automatically think that they are a better driver than you because they know how to drive stick.

sweetkiwi 01-27-2015 04:58 PM

Thanks everyone for replying. I want an Auto because I don't know how to drive stick...and I'm on freeway 10 everyday so it's the pain.
IMO, I'm a female driver and living in San Gabriel Valley. RC from Timmons Long Beach Subaru offers me $28k,409 + tax + lic for the 2015 Limited Auto WRB color. How much more can I bargain? Lol

I'd suggest learning. Not to hate on autos, but I learned on this one and I drive 30 miles with mild to heavy traffic every day.

I'd say to get a limited from Heuberger motors and get it shipped here. I believe (don't quote me) the limited manual is 25600 and auto would be 26600 + TTL.

Plus shipping which shouldnt be much

sweetkiwi 01-27-2015 05:40 PM

Thanks ^
Who should i contact? I forgot his name from what people recommended before

That price is really good. It's about the same price I paid for mine. What he's talking about is the Internet price. Check out the website. They usually have an Internet sales team. I actually did what he suggested but instead of getting it shipped I drove to the state where I purchase d it from and drove it home.

I traded my BRZ in after 2.5 years because I was driving stick in heavy traffic (60+ miles round trip) every day, and I just couldn't stand it anymore. If the OP wants to get an auto, get an auto. The one used in the BRZ is still a very good transmission, the vast majority of the folks I've seen who drive one, are pleasantly surprised by it.

DeeezNuuuts83 01-27-2015 07:05 PM

Yeah, my cousin who is 40 went with an auto BRZ, partially because his fiancé was likely going to drive it every now and then. He came from an FC RX-7 that he ended up just garaging.

I totally understand you. I'm doing about the same, but traffic is heavy for maybe 10-15 miles of my 60 trip. People were discouraging me from getting a manual, but being as stubborn as I am - I got it in manual. I stalled it 6 or 7 times on my way from the dealer. I learned to drive stick on it, and I totally love it. It all depends on the person :burnrubber:

iSnack0nEmoKidz 01-28-2015 04:56 PM

Get what fits yourlife style. Cool points arent worth 30k.

Thanks for the heads up... will be sure to ask people what other cars they owned prior to buying a used BRZ from them :P

initialc 01-29-2015 01:36 AM

Is Heuberger prices + delivery still good w/o Clint? All the manual fans will disagree, but an auto in 3+ hour traffic from OC to LA is definitely worth it

People are always honest right? ;)

Also, I'd rather buy a car from a dude like myself, who stalled it 6-7 times the first day and 4 times over the next 5 months. And redlined the car maybe 2-3 times during that period. Than from a perfect driver that redlines the car daily

PandaSPUR 01-29-2015 01:59 PM

Pretty sure stalling it a few times doesnt even do any damage. cmon now.

Dont feel bad about going auto, I was tempted to, but I bought the car for fun (I commute with mass transit since theres no parking in NYC anyway).

My 2015 Limited BRZ Manual was 28.5k out the door, everything included.

Not sure how LA prices compare to NYC prices though.

donoman 01-29-2015 03:15 PM

It's not the stalling that damages the car ... but it's the learning process that wears the clutch, engine/transmission mounts, driveline, transmission.

Don't feel bad about your driving sucking. Mine used to when I started as well. But don't confuse that with "probably doesn't matter at all."

Just my old guy opinion.

It's okay. I stalled mine about 20 times the first day. Half a dozen times was on a steep hill :/ (i hate hills haha)

Managed to highway drive it and take it home afterwards.

carma143 02-01-2015 03:06 AM

I've driven my car since October and I still stall mine about once every other week; granted it usually coincides with loud rock music spewing from the grills:party0030:

I am also a girl in San Gabriel Valley. :D I have an auto WRB BRZ. I was mad I got auto before cause my mom told me she wanted to drive my car too but she rarely ever drives it and never now since I've lowered it. After driving it daily around here for 2 and half years, I'm glad I got it in auto now.

I commute from the SGV to the OC everyday. Stick with an auto if you're gonna be commuting OP. It'll come in handy for those days that you just want to get to work with no fuss. My commute is an hour each way, and manual mode does its job most of the time if I want to feed the squirrels.

P.S. Avoid south coast Subaru if you're not trying to be ripped off by shady stealership tactics. Their service department is bomb.com though.

Not sure how LA prices compare to NYC prices though.

Unless you buy hybrid or electric, CA charges a ton of fees and taxes on top of car purchases (9-10% sales tax + ~$300 in fees). If you get a BRZ for $26k, then OTD price is still at least $28.6k.

To the OP: I drive 37 miles each way for my commute in a manual on the 405 and 101, and it's do-able (to/from Thousand Oaks from LA).

DeeezNuuuts83 02-02-2015 07:42 PM

Where do you work in LA? Ironically my brother takes a vanpool from Thousand Oaks to UCLA, but drives from Oxnard to Thousand Oaks.

I just double checked my invoice. Car price was 25.8k for my manual limited. Fees + Taxes were another 2.7k on top :(

Nice price! I bought my car in DC but I was $28.9k OTD in July 2013. NYC prices sounds like California :confused0068:
