Am I childish? OR...

Am I the only one who walks past their frs/gt86 and wipes dirt off with their clothes? Eh it'll wash out in the laundry, but this could possibly lead to something awful squeaky squeaky squeaky

Does anyone else get f:bonk:king blinded by SUV's and other taller vehicles with their headlights in the rear view mirrors? I'm 25 yrs old and this is my first sports car, so try to just relate, maybe... And I'm not complaining, because she's my baby... Just thought it might make a good/funny topic
:laughabove:

cheers! hope everyone had a good day.

1. No, I don't. I usually leave it or get a microfiber if it really bothers me. Winter is a lost cause.

2. Welcome to driving a low sports car in America. Tinting your windows or getting a manual dimming rear view mirror might help.

Just flip the mirror down? There's a switch on the bottom that will tilt it so you can still see the headlights behind you but they'll be polarized.

Please don't use your shirt. It leads to swirls :(.

That's just me being picky though. I think everyone thinks about dirt on their car a little too much when they first get it. Eventually the newness will wear off and you won't feel as inclined to wipe dirt off every time you see it. Even dirty these cars look better than most.

I've been driving for years and I never knew what that thing did. THANK YOU!

WesleyG 01-20-2015 12:50 AM

my dad taught me about the mirror trick when i was like 10, It helps alot, but does nothing for cars facing you,

As for wiping the car with my clothes, nope dont do that, material and the sand and dust on the car will make nice swirl marks

Vincenttam 01-20-2015 02:45 AM

I carry three microfiber cloths in my trunk a long with some meguires quick wax and detailer.

SC10N 01-20-2015 02:55 AM

Sure they do. That thing has been standard on all cars for as long as I can remember.

dpesce 01-20-2015 08:01 AM

Whoa buddy

1) I always carry those super plush griots garage microfiber cloths and and a bottle of spray on "car wash" to hit little dirty spots. But I really only ever do so when, say I'm going out on a date and want to impress or something. Otherwise a wash every 2 weeks or so keeps me happy as a lark.

2) Of course I get blinded. Esp. the rednecks (or otherwise) who brilliantly installed HIDS on their lifted trucks and never had them aimed or thought about other roadgoers. It's just part of the life in a low slung coupe. However, I can zip away from these fools cause BRZ.

You need a haircut!

As for getting blinded, if I'm stuck at a stop light when the blinding occurs, I try to maneuver my side mirrors in such a way as to blast the driver behind me.

I have always wondered just why Han had that helmet kicking around the ship! What was it meant for? Same with the laser ball they used. What was it's practical purpose? Not like Obiwan and Luke brought a bunch of stuff with them so it was there already.

Really? Are your windows tinted?

Even when people have their brights on it doesn't bother me at all with the mirror and tint. But I guess to everyone has different sensitivites.

You tinted your window, I didn't, so it's not really a fair comparison.

The only reason I got the mirror is because it was already on the car at the dealers lot.

True but before I tinted my windows it worked fine I also have my mirror adjusted so I have to tilt slight back to use it maybe that helps.
And yea mine was a installed already when I got the car along with other dealer garbage they overcharged me for.

Ditto that. I also use a California Duster every few days to keep the car looking relatively clean in between washes (wash every other week). It works really well and takes no longer than 2 mins.

I usually only use the detailer to clean up bird droppings and/or other stains when I go out on my lunch break.
