BRZ first mod?
I`m about to get my New Brz in about a month and i just wanted some recommendations on what my first mod should be ??
Openflash Tablet.
Exhaust for sure. The stock exhaust is way too quiet.
Fix the nut behind the wheel: go get educated on driving the thing quickly, AutoX or HPDE, someone with a good reputation for quality instructors.
The first and only mod I've done to mine was removing the noise generator tube.
exhaust

Exhaust for sure.
Camber plates and tires.
Engine swap.
+1 for open flash tablet.
Followed closely by engine swap. |
Heavy shift knob makes shifting butter.
Change out the piss water gas your dealer put in
No one answer for the question. It depends on the individual needs, tastes, capabilities and cash flow of the owner. Driving it as it is for a little while and getting to know it will reveal to you things YOU may want to change.

LOL, these questions are hilarious... everyone has a different opinion. Change exhaust! OFT! Driving school! Put a sticker on it! Immediately sell it and buy a RC-F instead!
OP, what do you want to do with your car? Can't you decide for yourself? If you can't decide for yourself, you need to let us know a bit more about what you goals are, budget, and experience... |

The guy doesn't even own his car yet, who says he'll still want/need a BRZ in a month? Until someone owns a car and posts an opinion about what they desire or wish the car had, there's no way I will give an exact suggestion. Although, engine swap is pretty good to start considering most people wanting to mod this car out of the box want power. Put in a powerful enough engine, they will stop wanting power mods. There, that's my reasoning. -alex |

Stereo. The base model one on the BRZ (non-satnav) is rubbish. That and the speakers are not much better either.

In the FT86 community, the obvious complaint is that there isn't enough power. In other communities, the stock suspension might be floaty, or part X might be a weak point that should be replaced if you plan on owning the car long term. Not everything is about high performance lol. I 100% agree that everyone could benefit from autox, but he asked about the car, not the driver. |

Many people mod to get more enjoyment out of the car, more performance, more connection and many people don't realize how many affordable options they have to actually drive the car at 10/10ths of it's capability just like on Top Gear or X movie. Besides, if there's the 1/1,000 chance that the guy tests out his open flash tablet and new exhaust at the track instead of blasting around the local backroad with all the risks associated it's worth the minor annoyance. As posted above we have no idea what the OP wants so he gets suggestions for tires, suspension, engine swaps and sound systems. :iono: |

Nothing.
I'm probably way in the minority here, but the thing that drew me to the BRZ was that it was purposefully built to be an awesome car with it's handling capabilities rivaling cars 2-3x the price, and I don't want to really mess with that. Stock seems to leave a bad taste in peoples mouth, but that only makes sense if you're trying to turn a Civic into a more of a track car; this isn't really a budget commuter car that *needs* to be modded out to be cool. IMO thinking about performance mods are a bit premature before you even get the car, and really get to know it as it was designed. Which only leaves cosmetic mods, which are really only personal taste. So, the ball's back in your court, OP :) |
