New XXR Wheels coming early 2015

http://www.nlmotoring.com/XXR-553-Wh.../553892022.htm

What does everyone ting about these!!?? I may hold off on buying 530s

ohnoitsthefuzz 01-07-2015 05:07 AM

I actually like them a lot. I have been on chromium black 18x8.75 +35 527 for the past year. I know a lot of forum members don't care for XXR but, it's not in my budget to spend 2k + on a set of wheels. Besides I daily my car with almost no track time so I don't need crazy light/strong wheels. Although they are on the heavy side (approx. 21 lbs a corner), I get nothing but compliments on them and the way they fit the car. I'm getting bored and those new 552s look awesome. The size, offset, and price are on point for me. I'm definitely going to have to pull the trigger on them when they are released.

VakaGT 01-07-2015 05:28 AM

I really like the 553s. The only thing that keeps me from a wheel with that much going on is cleaning them!

ohnoitsthefuzz 01-07-2015 05:33 AM

The 552 look a lot like the Cosmis Racing XT-206Rs that I have wanted for quite a while but they just don't offer them in an offset I like. They only come very aggressive or widebody needed agressive.

hmong337 01-07-2015 05:36 AM

Those look horrid!

Pkush 01-07-2015 08:17 AM

5-112, 5-120? Need adapters :/

Takumi788 01-07-2015 08:36 AM

I like the new 550's better.

The 553 weight around 25lbs, :(
They have +36 offset, they will poke out if you use 245/35 tires

deliroast 02-13-2015 11:23 AM

Pretty sure those 550 are a RS05RR knockoff

They are but at 132.00 a wheel it's pretty hard to pass those up.

deliroast 02-13-2015 11:43 AM

lol true. i got some real good prices on the real ones recently. but my xxr 527 have held up to a ton of hard driving

continuecrushing 02-13-2015 11:47 AM

theres almost as many lug holes as there are spokes!

I really wish they would start making these in one bolt pattern...I know making it universal helps with lower cost, but stil...

deliroast 02-13-2015 12:00 PM

My 527 are single drilled. Im sure you can find them but itll take some searching. Took some searching to find the single drilled 527

LOL, hahahahahaha. Good one, but are Rotiform extremely heavy compared to OEM wheels if you go 18"?

hmong337 02-14-2015 01:29 AM

552's looks bad ass! Too bad xxr's weigh a ton.

They don't weight a lot, do they?

2much 02-15-2015 12:05 AM

24 lbs? the setup will be taxing

Lol, The rotiforms for 18x8.5 come in around ~24lbs (forged ones drop about ~5/6 pounds per corner).

If you car about performance, those wheels are a no go, but in terms of presence BLQ's stop fucking traffic.... I can't emphasis how stunning they are in person (with a good color)

dtrop 02-15-2015 09:49 AM

Sold my unused xxr 527 and bought a set of xxr 550 17"+36 in chromium.

Okay, since I believe the 18x8.75 are 24-25 lbs according to their website

Can you post pics once you get them on? I'm thinking about picking these up as well

Sure. Two things though:

Not sure when they will actually be released (preordered)

I won't be putting them on (if I have them) until April (when snow is gone)

But after that, gladly!!

They're like 24lbs. Add wider tires into the equation and you're pretty much on steam rollers.

CBR600RR 02-16-2015 02:51 PM

24lbs per wheel!?!?!?! no thanks!

IMO, go for lighter wheels or stay with stock wheels (unless boosted)

Dreamers, dream on.

19.6lbs isn't "light" it's just not "heavy". Until it has been verified, whatever weights off the top of your head mean nothing. Lets keep this on topic to the specific NEW models at hand.

720form! Priced a tad bit higher at around ~$200/wheel (which is still cheap as fuck), and still 17.8lbs for a 17x9. Rota Titans are in this range as well. Those two wheels are probably the lightest wheels you can find with good sizes and offsets for the price.

A good rule of thumb for anybody wanting performance wheels is trying to not go heavier than the stock wheels ~20lbs.

ericmpena 02-16-2015 04:52 PM

552's = Enkei RPF1 but in Chromium Black. I want.

True. I agree that those wheels offer the best bang for the buck right now. I have been looking at the 720 form for a bit now.

But everyone has been talking about 18" sizes. @17" size, the price is about $75 more per wheel, 500 for a set vs 800 for a set, it is a (relatively) big price jump(60%) for those people with limited budget.

Always goes back to the 3, cheap, fast(light), reliable(strong enough).

Make it 17-25 ;)
There are 18x9.5 in the 17-18.. Enkei RPF1 for example. Many others, :)

dtrop 02-16-2015 06:52 PM

I ordered my set (xxr 550)Friday, and I got an email today saying they shipped....so they might be all available to order now.

D5TNKT 02-20-2015 04:24 PM

I want to get the xxr 550 but I don't know much about wheels.
They are available in 18x8.75 in +36 or +19.
I am not sure what offset to get them in. My car is lowered on eibach sportline lowering spring so it's about an inch and a half lower drop.
Thanks
