These are much better photos than the wallpapers even. Check out the details. Toyota really paid attention to the small details with this concept car. Love all the CF touches everywhere, although they likely won't make production. Really hope the fit and finish of the production versions are equally good and that they keep at least some of the interior design, which is awesome! |

I hope they don't deviate from the exterior of the concept too much.

What a sick car and equally sick pixx!!
That interior is straight up Gundam and for sure will be overhauled for the production interior, but I hope they at least keep some elements of it cause it fits well with the car's overall look and feel. Outside of course is amazing. I think they really need to keep this front fender design, I think it would be one of the FT86's signature elements http://www.ft86club.com/forums/attac...1&d=1255224783 |
I hope the CF rear diffuser can make it to production, I think its a really nice design element, but I'm a little worried that it would get cracked and damaged in real world use..
|
Awesome photos thanks for sharing. They really used carbon fiber tastefully on this concept, really adds to the car's look IMO. Too bad very little of it will make production probably.
Finally we see what that plaque on the side of the car says... but whats the significance of this car being designed in Toyota's european design house? What other cars of theirs have been designed there? |
Best pix I seen yet I cant wait for the Tokyo show!! Just two more weeks

Front 3/4 view FTW to be honest..

Looks okay. Would like to see more production-ready stuff, of course.

Hmm, the last picture could be my wallpaper.

The more and more I look at the interior, I don't see why it couldn't be put into production. It does look like a super concepty interior at first glance, but if you study it, it doesn't use any out of the ordinary shapes or materials (at least the dash and display). It might be a bit polarizing for the average joe schmoe buyer so I could see them canning it for marketing reasons, but otherwise it would be a neat feture of the car if they kept that interior (i can dream cant i :)

No way that will ever happen on a entry level RWD Sports coupe. Wishful thinking though. I think that car is gorgeous, but unless its all printed or painted on, all that CF will never make its way to production, WAY too expensive to put work like that into production, even if it is all standard overlay. Anyone else think that the front end view of the car looks like an RX8, and a Genesis had a baby? just my *two cents* |
I wish they keep the bucket seats both front and back if they can pass safety regulations.

I predict black plastic in lieu of cf to keep costs in check. The general look of the interior will probably remain, but I doubt those really odd looking seats, the zippers or all that leather will make it.
What are the USB's for? ipod? |
it would be more appealing if they scratched the almost non-existent back seat and just made it a two seater
|
There's some leg room in the back if they use bucket seats or slimmer seats in the front. Small adults or children could probably fit back there for short trips. The Lotus evora can fit small people in the back and that car seems to have even less room in the back.
I hope they keep it as a 2+2 or an option for rear seat delete for those who don't want it. |
These pictures are probably the best I have seen of the car yet. I just can't get myself to decide if black paint looks better or red.

It wouldn't kill them to push the rear seats back and closer together. This would free up some more rear leg room. I hope the production model has decent leg room in the back or else I'll be tempted to go the Genesis coupe route. edit: Now that I think about it some more. I wish they extended the shape of the rear window and made the car a hatch back. That would have been interesting. |

I would love to see the rounded dials make it to production. My main question is this tho, does anyone think the headlights as they are on this concept will make it to production or will it be replaced with the usual crap rounded lights that production cars have? I think the headlights are one of the most important elements in car design, and these units are perfection, I really want them to make it to production but I have no idea if its production feasable?

God I want this car now! Look at those super short overhangs and proportion of the entire car. Gonna have serious blue balls in the next 2 years hah

The headlights at minimum will need to include side reflectors and turn signal if I'm not mistaken. I think that is doable with minimal alteration to the pictures above.
And will they need low and high beam unless they use bixenons? Not too familiar with headlights. |
Absolutely love it. Saving cash now for this beauty.

I hope they revise the front end and lights slightly and tame it down a bit in the production version. Rear of car is impressive, along with the interior. If they retain the hatchback setup it will be ideal.
Have my concerns about the boxer engine as it is a step away from the original and are not sure if it will have the same high revving characteristics. The engine was one of the standout points of this car in Japan and if it does not impress, it will not sell. In all, I am happy that the AE86 is making a return. :w00t: |
Those pedals need to be spaced closer together for heel-toe
