Wasp Composites Front Splitter

If you're looking for a solid front splitter that won't break the bank for your FR-S or BRZ, I would highly recommend Wasp Composite's Chassis-Mounted Front Splitter.

I was introduced to Wasp through a fellow enthusiast, Devin, whom I met at an AutoX event in Chicago this past Summer before I moved to LA a few months ago. Having participated in several AutoX events, I wanted to take my driving experience up another level so Devin and I got into a conversation about his track experience. He showed me his S2000 front splitter and I was immediately impressed by the quality and craftsmanship of it. I proceeded to do my research on numerous alternatives but when Wasp, soon after, came out with their FR-S/BRZ front splitter, Devin let me know and I ordered one right away. Wasp offered the best price for the quality (Retail: $600. Was on sale for $550 shipped one time since I was one of the first three to order).

I recently brought in my FR-S to Wasp Composite's shop and I couldn't be happier with how my front splitter turned out (I opted-in for their 3" chassis-mounted front splitter). Customer service was impeccable. Bryan and his team at Wasp did an amazing job creating my product, keeping me up-to-date the entire time, staying in constant communication with me, and providing the level of customer service that they did before and after my purchase.

The front splitter is super light at just under 6 lbs., very strong (mounted to 6 points on the chassis), and has been tested on an FR-S at the track (with the splitter both on and off the FR-S). They offer installation at their shop for anyone in the California area and include installation hardware for those who order their kit. After having an opportunity to speak with the guys at Wasp, I also learned that they are very well educated when it comes to aerodynamics. I found out that they work with top winning teams in Redline Time Attack with drivers such as AWD Street Class Winner, Mark Jager.

Here are some before and after pics of my Argento 2013 Scion FR-S and my custom-fabricated Wasp Composites Chassis-Mounted Front Splitter:

Big thanks to Bryan and his team at Wasp Composites! Thanks guys!

Feel free to reply to this post with any questions or comments, PM me, and post your pics if you also have aero from Wasp Composites! Enjoy!

That looks legit. I think I'd go with black trim molding instead of the red. But either way, that's a nice piece of hardware

Thanks JoeC. I was originally going to get black trim but then got some ideas after scrolling through some other aero pics online. Thought I'd give red a shot. Asked the guys at Wasp if they could do it and they were able to pull it off, thankfully. Very happy with how it turned out!

Im extremely interested in their 5" splitter but concerned with I guess you would say fitment adjustability. Still haven't finalized my front end components(radiator[s], IC, bumper beam etc with my swap.)

OmarGC - Their 5" splitter was my original order but I decided on the 3" for now (at least until I get a truck and trailer so that my FR-S doesn't have to be street driven to the track). My FR-S front end components are all O.E.M. so they of course mounted my splitter based on a stock chassis setup. In your case, once you finalize your setup and if you want, I can get you in touch with Bryan at Wasp so that you can discuss possibilities of custom mounting locations with them. Let me know.

Interested to know if it clears either HKS or Jackson Racing's Engine Oil Cooler with 3" chassis-mounted front splitter.

Who do I contact to purchase one?

I've sent an inquiry to I believe Zach at Delicious Tuning but I haven't heard back from him yet. Is there a website that I can order off of? (Wasp's website?)

Thanks in advance and it looks great!

Wasp Composites Front Splitter

Interested! Looks great! +1 on the black trim vs. red. I'd like to see one with a FMIC before I go all-in.

@fx35s - I'll send you a PM with Bryan's contact info to ask about fitment and purchase. You can e-mail or text him as well but he prefers a phone call. He's usually busy making splitters so calling is the best way to reach him; otherwise, he will at least respond within 24 hours via e-mail or text but again, over the phone is easiest for him. I can also have him call you if you prefer. Check your inbox and let me know once you receive my PM.

@ecko04 - Do you already have a FMIC installed? If so, which brand/model? Or, if you don't have one yet, do you know which brand/model you're interested in getting? Bryan and his team can determine compatibility after you let me know.

Placed an order for Wasp Composites 3" Race Splitter for my brz.
THIS GON BE GOOD!!! :P

Talked with Bryan over the phone and texts for a few questions I had about the splitter.

I do not always pay for things (parts in this case), but when I do, I only pay for high-quality stuff that I can trust, and that way I hope good businesses sustain their role in providing auto community with high-quality stuff.

I am not sure when I will be putting my front splitter on my car as we are still in the winter here at East Coast and may see much more snow than what we have seen so far (we barely had any snow so far this year).

But once weather gets a bit warmer and snow stops, I'll be putting together list of parts I have now.

Will post more pics when I receive the splitter. :)

Good stuff man. Like I mentioned in my original post, Bryan's communication and customer service were excellent during my purchase experience and it seems like you are receiving the same excellent level of customer service from them.

Their product quality is what initially drew me into them and with you being an advocate of high quality as well, I'm sure you'll be very satisfied with your decision.

I know what that's like to have to wait for the snow to end since I used to live in Chicago but I (and I'm sure many others) can't wait to see how your BRZ Wasp Composites 3" Front Race Splitter turns out! Keep us posted!

Hahah yeah. By no means I'm rich to afford all the car parts I wish I had, but when I buy something I do not simply buy anything cheapest available in the market. I always try to shoot for something that's proven to be excellent (tend to end up with a product that many people buy over and over) and something that's unique... and still high quality.

I can't wait to put on the Wasp Front splitter in the spring!

@fx35s If only we could have an unlimited supply of cash to buy all the car parts we wanted at any point in time! Lol. Wasp's products are definitely unique, high quality, and proven to be excellent. I've found that their customer base is also very loyal so they tend to stick with Wasp and buy their products over and over. Glad to hear you made a purchase and it looks like your friend did too!

I can see 4 mounting points and infer the fifth (number 4 in the picture) but where is the 6th?

I think this thread should be in the chassis forum because this looks more function than fashion.

Great questions @Captain Snooze. Also, thanks for the feedback! The support bracket (number 2 in your picture) was actually later omitted since it was unnecessary. There are 2 support rods in front, 2 support rods on the sides, and 2 bolts in the back (mounted behind the radiator). The support rods are also adjustable. As you can see on my FR-S (3rd picture below), the front 2 support rods (mine were custom-painted red to match the red trim on my front splitter) were mounted at a certain angle to compliment the design of the front bumper.

Hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions!

p.s. - I would move this thread to the Chassis forum but it looks like most aero (functional and non-functional) is categorized under this Cosmetic Modification (Interior/Exterior/Lighting).

is there a website for these? I googled WASP COMPOSITES and it didn't have any information on the twins.

Might be swapping to a brz bumper this week... have they made one for it yet? Shape should be slightly different

I have BRZ and ordered front splitter from Wasp Composites.
It should fit both fr-s and brz unless you want different shapes for the splitter :thumbsup:

@OmarGC - For an O.E.M. BRZ front bumper, the WASP Composites chassis-mounted track splitter is the same as the FR-S, mounting points and everything. If you have a lip, like in the photos below, the design will be slightly different. The BRZ in the photos below has an STI replica lip:

Bryan said he doesn't have any photos yet of his splitter on a BRZ without a lip so if anyone has photos, please share!

@midnight23 got any pics of that oil cooler installed? The support rods are adjustable and there are many different ways to run them so there shouldn't be a problem.
