Tigermack's SCCA STX BRZ

Bought my car from Max @blkwrxwag earlier this year in October. Drove it back to NorCal from SoCal.

It's a 13' Limited.

Car is prepped for STX (SCCA Solo) with some minor stuff needed to be done for full prep.

Bought the car with about 14k on it.

Here's the mod list:

Perrin crank pulley
Perrin engine mounts
JDM EL header ceramic coated (ex. JDL UEL Header)
Perrin Overpipe
Perrin mid pipe with high flo cat
Perrin 2.5 resonated cat back
Lightweight Lithium battery + charger
Moto East Ecutek tuned ECU with tunes for 91 octane and 100 octane + adjustable launch control
Radium PCV catch-can

Transmission

Kartboy short shifter
Kartboy trans mount insert

Suspension

Motion Control Internal DA shocks with #450 springs all round
Adjustable Perrin front bar (ex. Whiteline F&R)
Adjustable Mann rear bar w/ adjustable endlinks
Whiteline rear subframe bushing inserts
Whiteline rear differential bushings
Custom front endlinks
Vorshlag front camber plates
SPC adjustable rear control arms

Drivetrain
Weds Sport TC105-N 17x9
245/40/17
Extended lugs with 5mm spacers
OSGiken rear diff
Stoptech ST40 front BBK (rear rotors weighed more than stock, otherwise, I'd have installed it)

Interior

Sparco Pro2000
Custom aluminum seat base and slider

First pic after I picked up the car.

Picked up a set of new Weds before picking up the car, had my leftover Toyos from the BMW.

Car was filled with swirl marks all over... thanks to the previous owner. :)

Since then... I've been slowing de-ricing it.

Happy New Year, brother.

Happy new year man.

What part? My friend just moved to Tempe and he's selling his NA Miata. :(

It's true. I need more stickers to get more love, I think. Or maybe a rocket bunny kit.

Beautiful car, jealous of that mod list. The photographs are very well done too.

I'm up in North Phoenix... which is entirely non-descriptive considering it's a 45 minute drive to cross the city of Phoenix north to south, haha.

How do you like the Whiteline sways / endlinks?

tahdizzle 01-16-2015 01:17 PM

How do you like the r1r on 235 instead of 245 on a 9"?

They are cool. I didn't mess with it since I got the car and I haven't driven a frs/BRZ with other setup yet. That will change soon since my buddy is building his right now.

I only drove the 245 on street so far so I haven't had any experience on the RS3 on this car. The Toyo are just leftover from the BMW and have to use it up for the new season. The toyo requires more precision driving, hard to dig out more from them at limit. It's not as forgiving like the RS3, if that's what you are asking...

Thanks, Actually I was more wondering if you chose a slightly stretched 235 on a 9" because of sidewall or some sort of dynamic of the R1R that 235 on a 9" performs better, of course in your experience.

FYI, most people picked the 235 because its one of toyos special compound tires....that should be disappearing with the release of the 200 tw batch.

Supposedly, the stretched effect on the R1R provide better response from the tire with the sidewall stretched rather than pitched. And, the "special" compound...

Toyo is coming out with a new TW for the Toyo's so will see if it's anywhere close to these old ones.

tahdizzle 01-16-2015 07:44 PM

Off topic.

Enjoy your car!

tigermack 01-20-2015 11:52 PM

Installed the FXT OEM oil cooler in last night and did the first oil change since purchase.

Install was quite messy, made it a lot easier doing it on my buddy's lift. I couldn't imagine doing that on my back... that'd be a lot more F bombs flying.

Took some pics tonight after I washed the car, wiped down the engine bay through the long weekend, too.

Thanks!

Anyone have gunmetal RPF1 for sale? 17x9 +35...

tigermack 01-29-2015 01:49 AM

Stoptech BBK came in today. Pedal feels firmer from the stainless steel lines, a bit more clamping force compare to stock.

I got the car with the stickers. Car has close to 0 now, maybe 2-3 on the windows.

The 2015 autocross season started for our region yesterday. First event on the Hankook RS3 since I got the car, was running on the Toyo R1R 140tw until now. Also had alignment done last week before the season begins just to make sure everything is in spec. Turned out the alignment before was quite out of wack, toe was all over the place in the rear, camber/caster didn't match in the front and was off quite a bit. Thanks to @AutoRnD for the alignment, those guys are awesome.

Here's the video of my fastest run... forgot my GoPro remote so the vids are out of sync a bit, I tried to get them to sync but I got tired and gave up. I left some time out there... could have probably went flat in the slaloms but I am afraid of cone marks. LOL

Ran in STX, finished 1st and PAXed 7th.

Jealous of space and tire feedback. Our surface does not make the rs3 chirp at all, hard to find the limit until you are fighting the car back into position

What type of pavement is it? Asphalt?

Yep.
