My '15 Halo Build

Well, where to start?

At the ripe, young age of 18 I first saw the 86 come into the world. Since then, I eagerly awaited it to be released. When it came out, I just couldn't afford it due to school and only working part time. Fast forward to 9 Dec 2014 when I picked up my new FR-S. In the past 2 and a half weeks, I've put about 1500km on it and have been steadily modifying it.

This is my first car that I've put any actual mods on. And have been doing everything myself, in the comfort of my garage. Lucky it's been a very mild winter so far up in the great white north.

As for a parts list, here's what I have so far:

Interior:
Weathertech floor mats
LED dome light
Black interior pieces

Exterior:
Tow hook plate holder
Switchback LED front turn signal bulbs
Window Visors
LED plate lights and Reverse lights
Clear side markers

Engine:
OFT (stg 1 91oct rom)
Nameless Axle Back (5" mufflers, blue/gold tips)

Suspension and Wheels:
DSG Performance Special Edition Fortune Auto 500 Coilovers
Powered By Max lower control arms
XXR 527 17x8.25 +25

Please excuse my pictures, just taking them on my phone for right now, until I can get a proper shoot done in the spring with everything finished up. Now onto the good stuff:

Some new pictures from today with the summer wheels on, VERY happy with how they turned out although the poke in the front is a bit much for me.

This! Might be a nice rim to replace my steelies with for my winter tires :)

Still have to go and pick up my summer tires. The rims are currently still just sitting in their boxes. If you're curious what they look like mounted, guerilla racing has them on their website and have a few pictures of the wheels in the same size and offset as mine on their FR-S

Bergen23 01-08-2015 09:08 PM

Got the tires mounted. Needless to say, being 2500 km away from the car, and it being winter really, really sucks.

I'd like to paint the "Bridgestone" and "Potenza" labels. What's the best way to go about that?

I wouldn't do it. It starts to rub off over time and looks like shit.

Update:

Car is currently in the shop getting the coilovers and LCA's installed.

Big thanks to @jamies31 for the few pictures of it before they start tearing it apart.

No can do. Live in a quiet residential area. Neighbours have already complained politely once. Plus, I have no desire to listen to the drone as I do a lot of highway driving.

Bergen23 02-04-2015 11:27 PM

And, here's the "finished" product. Lowered about 1.5" all around. Will be going lower once spring comes around.

Made some more progress with this, installed some of the black interior bits. Fairly happy with how it came out, although the interior does seem a bit more "bland". Interior is dirty, don't care because winter.

You guys actually inspired me to get these wheels! Only reason I didn't buy from you is because of a combination of the Canadian dollar and what the shipping was when I went to check out on your website.

Edit: How are you guys dealing with the poke on the front end? I'm about 85% sure I have -2* camber (Can't be sure because my parents picked my car up from the shop after the alignment and didn't get the alignment spec sheet). It's pretty bad poke and I'm a little concerned about the fender coming down on the tire.

Awesome! I'm getting an alignment done this week and will come back, but I'm pretty sure we are at -2 also. There's no issues with rubbing or anything, but we also have 10k springs in front.

Looks awesome dude! I wish I could put my summers on. We still have snow up here :(

Still snow here, but the weather has been consistently above 5. Apparently my cottage is also pretty nice (Sauble) so I'm not all too concerned.

Not too impressed. Been having logging issues and the guys at OpenFlash haven't been able to tell me anything about it.

It's not paint. They're OEM replacements from the EDM and JDM cars

86_dion 03-14-2015 12:57 PM

Nice you have the link to it with the part numbers?

There's a DIY somewhere on here with everything you need.

Damn I'm sorry to hear that, I was going to buy it in the summer so I can get ready for my race against a G35. If you need assistance you can contact Steve999 or something like that, he is really helpful when it comes to OFT questions.

There's nothing to be done until the guys at OpenFlash release an update. In the mean time I have to log other parameters to be able to derive things like knock.

Quick exhaust sound clip:

Bergen23 05-06-2015 10:28 PM

The 60R is now gone, back to the stock exhaust for the time being. The 60R and OpenFlash header was just too much for me.

Got some new stuff since I last updated, wheels, suspension and headlights.

Not happy with the tire size I got. I didn't anticipate 205/40/17 looking so small on the car. I'll just deal with it for the time being, and when funds permit, I'm going to look into something in the 18x9.5 or 10 range, with something like a +15 or +20 offset

Must lose it's nuance and deeper meaning in English.
