2016 CTS-V

Love how the car keeps getting sleeker with each revision. Bring on a wagon version!

Quote:
Much as the last CTS-V was a big Cadillac with a supercharged Corvette motor, the new one is an even bigger Cadillac with an even more powerful supercharged Corvette motor. If it ain't broke... GM claims 640 horsepower for the CTS-V, a slightly downrated version of the 6.2 liter LT4 you get in the new Z06. Torque is 630 lb-ft.
GM also claims 200 miles per hour as the top speed, though we haven't seen that verified. The same could be said of GM's claimed 3.7 second 0-60 time.
Magnetic ride is standard, as is an eight-speed torque converter automatic.
Worryingly, GM did not seem to make any commitments about a manual transmission. Or a coupe. Or —deep breaths here— a wagon.
When Cadillac reveals this car at the Detroit Auto Show, I'll be sure to ask serious questions about the car's design and not just cry and pee myself and tear apart my shirt until they tell me what's really happening with the wagon.

Doesn't look bad, but I'm definitely more excited about the ATS-V and the new Camaro on the ATS platform.

Need more fender flare.

But I'll still rock one.

Should be AWD anyways...

I always secretly wanted a CTS V

My uncle has a 2011 cts-v. Definitely a nice car.

This is me. it was on my "short list" when I got the FR-S (yes I have odd shopping habits). There is just something about this whole package that makes me want one.

Tbh if I wanted something in the category it would be between this and the Tesla model s... Forget the germans

I struggle to get excited for anything that weighs 4200lbs.

ATS-V is more promising.

mark0006 12-23-2014 12:56 PM

Sounds mean.

from the article:
It was recorded by the Car&Driver magazine crew during the CTS-V reveal event in an enclosed space. While it's only a few seconds long, the audio sampler gives us an idea of what to expect when the car makes its full video debut in the coming days or weeks.

So the new Honda Fit must of made you orgasm huh?

Nitro 12-23-2014 05:01 PM

It's cool, but it still looks like a car that a middle aged banker would drive.

I really like the Honda fit. Plus I can actually afford it.

YOu should buy a twin. :) The hood line isn't that high.

Joakim3 12-25-2014 03:23 AM

Meh... needs more fender flare and angry vents

Still take the ATS-V over it in a heart beat

In most places in the world, being mistaken for a middle aged banker is a Good Thing (TM).

Jay Leno welcomes a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V into the garage

After checking out a multitude of classic cars and customs over the past few weeks, Jay Leno switches things up with a modern performance machine in the latest video from the garage – a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V. Leno is curious about Caddy's attempt to challenge the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S, and he takes a long, technical look at the sedan with chief engineer David Leone. Not content to just peek under the hood, Leno puts the CTS-V up on the rack to see what it packs underneath the svelte body.

Once he gets the lowdown on the Caddy's engineering, it's time for a drive. Leno also flexes his interviewing skills while behind the wheel and gets even more info about the CTS-V's capabilities from Leone. He seems fairly impressed, but Leno's most entertaining question about the 640-horsepower sedan is whether it can do a burnout. He provides a definitive answer to that at the end of the clip.

Watch What A Cadillac CTS-V Can Do After Hennessey Raises It To 757 HP

[ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=klZvfFnGng8"]750 HP 2016 Cadillac CTS-V in Action - YouTube[/ame]

Quote:

The Texan tuner drops an HPE750 supercharged kit into a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, turning it into a supercar-slaying machine.

Surely, a factory 640hp CTS-V is not in need of more power, but if you happen to feel like it, Hennessey is your man.

With the HPE750 kit installed, the CTS-V is now making 757hp/6400rpm and 782lb ft/4200rpm. This allows the big sedan to accelerate from 0-60mph in 3.2 seconds and complete the quarter mile in 11.2 seconds. Top speed is 210 mph (340 km/h).

The kit includes a series of upgrades like a special engine management calibration, an upgraded pulley for the supercharger, a high-flow air induction system, long-tube stainless steel headers and midpipes, high-flow catalytic converters and a high-flow air-to-water intercooler.

If you think this is crazy enough, you’re wrong: this is just the entry-level upgrade option, as Hennessey also offers the HPE800 and HPE1000 upgrade kits.
