Outrageous beliefs about differences between the twins
Who's heard outrageous statements concerning differences between the twins?
All this from one guy. The BRZ engine placement is 4 inches back form where it is on the FR-S thus the reason there is a handling difference. The BRZ costs $4000 more than the FR-S. |
The most outrageous thing that has happened to me was when a pleb asked if that was one of those new "FRZ" type sportscars. DOES HE NOT KNOW ABOUT THE FRONT BUMPER DIFFERENCE??? :mad0260:
... okay for real no incidents to report yet on someone trying to quote differences between the two |
Guy's who drive BRZ's are better at everything than guys who drive an FR-S.
Thats what I heard anyway :P |

I concur. We are just so much better. |
I have talked to at least 100 people about mine so far. To date I have talked to 4 that knew what an FRS even was and 1 that even knew BRZs existed.
Oh, and the one guy looking my car over at a meet that told his buddies all about how good these new "Porsche Scorpions" are! Apparently "Scion" is now German for scorpion. |

I was getting such a chuckle I didn't have the heart to correct him. Probably made his summer! |
everytime is see my uncle. "yeah your frs is nice, but you should have got the brz. it has a turbo"
|
Sadly the "Information Age" has become more of the "Misinformation Age."
Happens all the time on this forum too. All the time I see people answering questions with hearsay, opinions, or flat out incorrect statements and stating them as fact. When someone does a search on that question, that wrong answer will still come up with that thread. If the person searching doesn't bother to look for multiple answers to that question (which we know many do not considering all of the posts asking the same questions), they can spread that bad information further. |
Not trying to start a manual/automatic debate, but this article from awhile ago kind of makes fun of the FR-S vs. BRZ differences. It kind of mocks the claims about one vs the other, should give you a nice little chuckle.

Because its a Subaru I've met a lot of people think that the BRZ is AWD lol.
|
Yeah I'v got the AWD comment b4, from my own brother (facepalm). An educated assumption I guess :)

Ya his buddies seemed to just ignore most of what he was saying. I was intrigued though as he explained how the special, ultra high boast, titanium, low profile, turbo fit under the cover that plainly says Toyota/Subaru on it! |

The other day someone was so sure that the BRZ came with valenti tail lights stock....I was like um no lol. I had to pull up the Suburu website

Oh wait I see what you did there! FR-STY the regular font is fine!!! Some jokes get passed back and forth but then the same happens with different colours of the same brand! Suppose there may be the rare person that really thinks there is a difference but most (on here) know they are really the same thing with some very minor changes. |

My 2 cents...
Subaru BRZ owners thinks all Toyota added to the car was the D-4 direct injection system oh wait a minute how did the boxer engine get the 86's > Bore and Stroke86.00mm x 86.00mm..?? http://i1011.photobucket.com/albums/.../whistling.gif That is all carry on. |
Because Nissan made the engine? The SR20 is 86x86 as well.
|
According to a Scion salesman, they put all the good engines in the FRS and the bad engines in the BRZ.
:bellyroll: |
Let's be honest, we all are driving Subaru's products. Literally produced in their facility. I only chose to go with the Toyota brand for convenience.
|
In 2014 before the STI edition came out, a high school owner said his was turboed, STI, and AWD from factory,..

As Albert pulled out of the lot, I mentioned that we were also considering the Subaru BRZ. "Those ones," he reassured me, "get the weak engines. They basically make the bad ones the BRZ. And you know why? That's because Toyota is more powerful than Subaru." I briefly envisioned two robots battling in Tokyo for the right to badge the more powerful GT86es as they rolled off the end of the line and onto the dynos    |
I had someone insisting that teh BRZ came stock with a turbo.
It didnt dissuade him when I told him I own one, I think I would know if it had a turbo... And a lady at work saw my BRZ and wanted to buy one. She bought a Lexus instead becasue the Dealer told her that the BRZ did not come in an Auto. |

At a car show I heard to young guys talking and the one pointed and said I want the FRS and his buddy said but the BRZ is faster. My buddy went to go buy a Forester XT and he saw the BRZ on the showroom floor and mentioned he knew someone with the BRZ and loved it. the salesman said oh your buddy is smart. when they do quality control of the cars the ones with higher ratings are the one that become BRZ. :sigh: |
I heard the BRZ drops panties faster than a FR-S.
Just what some random bikini model told me. In the FR-S's defense, she probably wasn't very smart. |

The ae86 didn't have a bore and stroke of 86mm. It is all something that they used to market the new ones :p |
Was pumping gas in the wife's Lexus and a BRZ pulled in. I asked him, "how do you like the brz?". The first thing out of his mouth were, "it's better than the frs!". What a tool lol.
|
wow are we in the BRZ forum?
FRS is getting stomped on by all the overpaying brz factory turbo'd owners lol |

Dat Subie life would cost $26 more per month for me |
When my friends think the BRZ is much faster than the FRS... Idk what to say about that.

FACT I: I've heared after you're done paying off the FR-S you'll be writing child support checks for all the women you impregnate.
FACT II: The BRZ is a Subaru. It's what makes Subaru a Subaru. Fact III: When I went to go buy my Lady's Crosstrek, they said the BRZ has a Rear Diff. And the FR-S doesn't, they said I should've bought a Subaru, I told them no thanks and went to another Subaru dealership. |
