Finally got to install the BBS CH-R, silver, 18x8 +38 offset with Michelin Pilot Supersports. 245/35-18. We also installed our Racecomp Yellow springs and are playing with and testing some rear sway combos and hypothetical front sway sizes. At the same time we installed Whiteline Com-C front mounts which are supposed to add half a degree of caster and front camber. Will verify shortly to the actual gain on the BRZ.

This is such a HUGE improvement over the stock tires. The amount of grip is insane. Haven't had tome to really spend in car. Left work and took wife to dinner for birthday.

At 44years of age I stuck with silver. These come in Titanium color and black. Overall wheel weight is UP by 1/4 lb per wheel measured. I will def be doing a super light weight setup that is 5-6 lbs less per wheel but I really like this wheel.

PERRIN_Jeff 06-05-2012 11:26 PM

18's at for sure the way to go, they fit those arches perfect! Love it!

Nardi330 06-06-2012 12:06 AM

very very hot. i hope u will sell the spring and alignment products as a kit.

how much drop is the yellow springs?

can wait for something similar released for FRS.

Asterisked Accolade 06-06-2012 12:14 AM

Those wheels look great. For some reason though, the spoiler really put me off. But overall i think it looks so wonderful, the FRS/BRZ is very good looking to begin with.

Koji_Online 06-06-2012 01:29 AM

245/35-18 will be 2-3mm taller. Practically no difference.

nix 06-06-2012 07:50 AM

Nice work it looks good. Drop height / rates info on springs?

I think the front could use a further 10-15mm drop, hopefully it settles a bit.

MattR 06-06-2012 07:52 AM

Any way we could get a photo looking down the side of the car from the front? I would like to see if there is any wheel/tire poking out of the fender.

Thanks for the pics!

SUB-FT86 06-06-2012 07:57 AM

I love how all you need is a rim and a drop to make the limited model BRZ look perfect. I wouldn't change a thing on the outside after this. Well maybe try to find the JDM exhaust tips.

it was like 24.5 vs 24.4. (ROUGH NUMBERS). The 235/40-18 weighed more and was .5 taller.

Yes exhaust is next and Stoptech Trophy brakes.

Hrm I have some 245/40/18 wheels/tires @ 18x8 +45 offset I'm going to try when we get our BRZ. The speedo will be off a little bit but the tires are way better than the Prius tires. Hopefully they work nicely.

Car looks great btw Myles. A set of springs from you guys + sways will be the first items on the list. Already have wheels/tires obviously.

I look forward to seeing where your car goes in development!

Thanks ! I will tell you that the 245/40-18 is a VERY tall tire compared to the 35 version. The OEM tire from the STI btw is on average MUCH taller than other 245/40-18's. Keep that in mind.

Want those springs........

colHolm 06-06-2012 10:10 AM

looks tight.

ant08 06-06-2012 10:25 AM

Looks great! Thanks for posting. I have CH's on my M3 and was always curios on how it would look. Where did you get them?

Klinn 06-06-2012 11:38 AM

Great job! Perfect way to set off a wonderful car.

Noticed any rubbing yet with a 245 at the front? Eg. at full lock and/or over bumps?

The tires I'd be using are used Bridgestone RE760 Sports. Looks like the speedo will be off 3mph too slow @ 60mph but I'll give it a go. If things don't feel good I can always switch back. They're just what I have available. I'd much rather have properly sized star specs on it. :party0030:

Not worried about any sort of a performance hit with the 18s?

I'm undecided between 17s and 18s... lots of variables! Tire selection, performance, ride, weight, etc etc.

OrbitalEllipses 06-06-2012 06:55 PM

So, are you a retailer for BBS wheels Myles and co.?

Nope, it tucks perfectly in the rear. I went ballz out today on a back road with a friend in a chase car(not suggested) and with the added grip you DO notice the bushing flex in the chassis. So like I thought, let the games begin !

Any feedback on the Com-C setup? I am doing a very mild -20mm lower spring setup myself to start and was interested in this kit.

They had some issues with durability IIRC. Not sure if those have been sorted or not. I have always liked the concept more than camber plates on a DD.

Exactly what I was thinking, I hope to hear more. Maybe on this car due to it's lower mass the issue will not be prevalent, or maybe it has been addressed. Time will tell I guess.

Calum 06-09-2012 08:15 AM

god, I can't get over how perfect that looks. I actually really like how tight the stock suspension is, but that just looks fantastic.....

ultra 06-09-2012 08:29 AM

@RCE When will you guys be releasing your Yellows + C comps + sways combo? :)

Seems like an ideal entry setup.
