1. this is why any car (over a set hp #) should come with manditory HPDE days at a local track or performance driving school.

2. Anyone that young who can shell out that much cash for a P1 probably thinks their related to the Stig, i hope he gets his license revoked; but realistically he'll get a slap on the wrist.

AHHH come on there was a "wet spot" on the road so it was clearly not his fault. He will probably sue the state and get enough to buy two more.

That's an interesting spin on the subject.

lol stop being jealous. It's his money, he can waste it however he wants. If you want to make this an issue of safety, anyone can kill themselves (and others) in any car. More people have died in FRSs than P1s.

Yeah it sucks that one of the few in existence has been crashed, but what's the difference between getting totaled and sitting under a car cover for the next 50 years? Neither will be getting any use anyway. And this is Mclaren we're talking about. They repaired Rowan Atkinson's F1 after he practically tore it in half. They'll probably rebuild this one too.

The real news story here is "Man Drives P1". When was the last time you saw a LaFerrari, Veneno, or any other hypercar being actually driven?

Well I did expect more responses to the "wet spot" so I know how you feel!

The people who need to have it explained that there was "no pun intended" or even "pun intended" don't deserve the cleverness of the play on words. I was impressed by the fact that you didn't point that out in post #4.

Yeah, but she's pretty hot so that makes you the winner.

Tell you what we will split it down the middle. You can have the northern hemisphere and I will take the southern!

Only if you think of north and south as up and down which of course they really aren't as there is no perspective in space to say which is which.
Cool! This is what you get (my laneway almost exactly one year ago):

Ahh... Wrong across the middle. I was thinking cutting through the equator. You still get north, me south. Not an east/west division.

No high-fives just yet. You still have to figure out who gets which half.

I'm ok with the leftovers.

I agree equator but if you read my original proposal I said I get the south!
I am sick of the north and would like to be warm for more then 5 months a year.
You already agreed without reading the fine print so the deal stands.
I think we can at least give Ultra Zanzibar or something.

And your car would only weight about 460 pounds!
Will need some minor intake conversions of course.

I'll just pack a couple extra bottles of nitrous.

Tcoat 11-29-2014 03:31 AM

Well if you hit escape velocity and head back to earth make sure you come down on my half because I am pretty sure Aussies don't know how to drink beer!

Oh shit, what was this thread about...
Oh Ya sad about that car in Texas isn't it!

Captain Snooze 11-29-2014 03:50 AM

Would this be a good or bad example of thread derailment?
Ahhh, the semantic and philosophical ramifications makes me speechless. Which is irrelevant given that I am posting in a forum.

I'm not jealous in the slightest. Im just upset that car was driven poorly and won't be driven again because of his careless mistakes. Idgaf about the guy, I care about the car

cdrazic93 11-29-2014 05:00 AM

Btw excellent example, and skillfully applied, correct thread derailment. I slow clap for you sir @Captain Snooze

Only because there are more of them (FR-S). This reminds me of the comment in another thread that the FR-S was the third most ticketed car. OK, but only if we mean percentage rather than actual numbers. So there are about 40,000 FR-S's on the road. How many millions of Mustangs are there? Don't you think that the sheer number of tickets issued to Mustangs has to simply dwarf that for the twins?
