COTM - Car of the Month?
 

Now that members have started getting their new toys I think it would be a good time to start a COTM section. We can do one BRZ and one FRS each month and can pick 3-5 cars to get voted on each month.

A new section where the COTM winner can make a post regarding mods and opinions of said mods would be enjoyed by all.

Good idea... but I think, currently Moto-san gonna win for few month lol

Give few more month, so more ppl have a chance moddin' their FRS/BRZ

It's definitely something I would like to see in the future, but now is much too early for it. Even once there is a large enough population of actual Zx6 owners on the forum, and even once there are enough people modding their cars, it's still going to take a while for people to make their cars different enough to warrant voting over which is better. And even then, there needs to be a sufficient number of such cars so that it's not just the same 3 or 4 guys each month. I'd say we need another 6 months to a year before it's really feasible.

I'd like to suggest, though, that if/when something like this is set up that "shop cars" not be eligible. As in; the development cars of Perrin, RCE, Grimspeed etc. couldn't be entered regardless of how awesome they become. It should be something accessible for the average Joe to aspire to.

In 2-3 months there should be enough differentiated cars to make it a good feature...

We can do car of the year for now maybe? Moto clearly in the lead for this year haha

DirtyImpreza.com does something similar. It's very popular and they are now using the pictures to make a Calender for the following year.

This is their format:
Submission thread for June.
Voting Thread for May.
Winner thread for April.

And past winners thread. (I won Feb '09 :D )

The mods there are really great. I'm sure they'd be happy to help you with advice if you want to do something similar here.

Well it has been 10 months since I posted this and now that we have come amazing cars out there can we start this up?

Hm... We might do COTM at the 86EXPO to start off... See what we can do about COTM

And then each one that wins, will be put into an ft86club.com calendar for their winning month to be sold in a group buy on here!!!

on another board instead of voters voting on car quality they vote on photo quality. IE: Theme based photos. One month theme may be "DESERTED" car owners then photograph their car in their own way to depict the deserted theme the best they can. Each months winner gets front page photo. This way all different cars can enter so those who may not have many mods can have a chance at winning as well.

I like the idea of voting on photographic merit. Sometimes it's not about all the mods you can cram in, but how you flaunt it ;)
