ohhhhhh soooo jelloussss....post pics in the rcf thread in the other vehicles discussion when you get it

Zozr 11-18-2014 11:29 PM

Totally different class of cars:)

Obligatory you will love it.

BRZ gets you hooked on sports cars and prepares you for one with real power

shellslinger 11-18-2014 11:37 PM

I'm jealous but I must ask you a question....how the hell are you able to afford one? LOL :D

86-tundra 11-18-2014 11:38 PM

Nice. I am surprised more people aren't going crazy over it. Toyota V8 coupe. Consider me jelly, but for that price I'll take a used GT-R

AznKirby 11-18-2014 11:39 PM

Wow talk about an upgrade.
With that amount of money readily available for an RC F, what made you go with the FR-S in the first place?

lol, I still remember when we all got pissed at you for not releasing details about your early Monogram purchase

Quentin 11-18-2014 11:45 PM

Nice! I saw an RC350 this weekend and that is a sexy beast. I imagine the RC-F is that much sexier.

AVodka14 11-18-2014 11:49 PM

Time for something after a year. HAHA!

torqdork 11-18-2014 11:58 PM

You'll like working with the Kuni staff post purchase. I'm sure you know that the first alignment is free and they'll align to any spec you provide so camber ahoy. Not to mention that the service experience is worth it just to oggle the service writer babes and enjoy the buffets.

Good timing, too. You should be able to get out of it within a year and make a little given your discount. Have fun!

beatgenie 11-19-2014 01:53 AM

Such a sexy car....far too out of budget for me though. At least you're keeping it in the family :)

WesleyG 11-19-2014 01:59 AM

very nice, based on what I read about it, seems to be a more grown up, slightly heavier and more powerful version of an 86, that promises not to disapoint

dhuang 11-19-2014 02:03 AM

Congrats! The RC-F is a beautiful machine -- glad to see Lexus bringing a true performance coupe into their line up once again.

This proves how amazing the 86 platform really is -- Its accessible and attracts all sorts of buyers from different strata.

I myself was seriously considering a Lotus Evora until I test drove the 86 out of curiosity.

You simply cannot beat the smiles per dollar.

Well, when you do get south, it should be in record time. :D

Congrats on your car, the sexiest Lexus coupe available. I can only imagine the sound of that V-8 wound out to 7K+ rpm.

Please post pics on delivery and come on out to a PIR track day if only to visit with us 86 plebs (though you'll have to track it to humble the BMW's, right?).

hmong337 11-19-2014 02:42 AM

I need to make more money :(

This is actually one of my dream cars that I could come close to attaining. Post a full review when you get the chance.

Cheers.

White with red leather interior, fully loaded, torque vectoring rear axle, 19" wheels.

Time for something different.

That is cool. Wish it wasn't 3900 pounds - nonetheless badass

DarkSunrise 11-19-2014 10:32 AM

Sweet car! Out of curiosity, what made you go with this over the new M4?

jflogerzi 11-19-2014 11:21 AM

Wow congrats. What made you go from the twin to that car. Why not a c7,m3/m4, 4c?

hahha, so true.

Braces 11-19-2014 11:50 AM

Congrats, but did you even consider the 4C? The 4C seems more in line with what the 86 is all about. The 4C carbon fiber body shell, midengine, and exotic good looks.

Slightly heavier? The damn thing is 4000 pounds. It has absolutely nothing in common with the FRS except being a RWD coupe and having similar suspension design. Macpherson struts up front and multi-link in the rear? They market it as double wishbones in the rear, but I'm not sure if that's true, because they said the same about the FR-S, which really has a multi-link setup instead.

I can't afford one, but I wouldn't buy one even if I could. For that much money, there are so many other possibilities... C7 Stingray? LS7 FRS? LS7 RX7? LS7 S2000? Turbo FRS? Turbo S2000? Used NSX? Used NSX + a huge turbo? Evo 9 with a huge turbo? Used GTR? Supra?

:P

Quentin 11-19-2014 12:17 PM

The back seats are just as tight in the RC as the FR.-S.

Doesn't the RC have double wishbone front suspension? It is definitely a touring car rather than a sports car, but if the engine is anything like the ISF, I'm sure it will still get the adrenaline pumping.

Congrats on the car

Cayman S is around the same price. At that price point many outstanding choices. Good luck with the new ride. should be a blast

Sovereign 11-19-2014 12:30 PM

Nice, but why not go with the ft1 all you have to do is wait a little and if the rumored price is 60k it falls in the same price range as the rcf. On top of that you get more hp and torque, still keep it in the family, and it's a supra goddamit! You also get the toyota emblems as well so you wont have to do a swap like a lot of people here do for the scion badge.

I was thinking the same thing. For that money I would go for the Cayman S.

So many options up in that price range.

I wouldn't say no to a RC-F if offered, however! Enjoy the ride OP. I am a bit jelly.

I like the RC-F and all but for that money i would have to go with a R35 GTR or maybe a Supra with some cash left.

The internet is great at spending other people's money. Enjoy the RC-F in good health!

This is the internet. Cars are like women. Every guy will post a million reasons why one is better than the other, completely ignoring any facts or logic that may exist one way or the other.

Emotion is the number one selling point of cars when you get past the "point A to B" aspect.

Congrats OP, hope you like the car!

So true. Also, some things grow on you, while others fade away.

If you had an opportunity to buy an R8 .... you should have. Just sayin.:D

Superhatch 11-19-2014 04:58 PM

Keep in mind that Lexus consistently has one of the highest scores for initial and long term reliability of any brand on the market.

While he could have "dropped that mad loot on an LS7 tricycle", he's getting a monster of a car which will probably also go for 250K without any issues.

I would have bought thirty-seven Miatas.

:D

Congrats on the.. uh.. preorder I guess. I'm a big fan of the RCF. Especially in orange or blue.

OICU812 11-19-2014 06:49 PM

The weight, wheels and more so the front end of the RC-F is a boner killer for me.

It will be a nice luxury car however and will really have no nagging issues for sure.

youcantseeme24 11-20-2014 02:48 AM

The fact its auto only kills it off for me....

tennisfreak 11-21-2014 12:01 PM

Congrats OP nice choice.

I was strongly considering doing the same thing you are doing.

Then Toyota confirmed the FT-1 is a go (I think last week or week before) and I decided to hold out for that as I have been dreaming of a next gen Supra for years now.

If it had not been for the FT-1 I would see myself in the RC-F.

Have fun and enjoy. Be sure to post back after you take delivery!!
