I keep seeing pictures of this car with those awesome looking ITBs but have yet to see it running.

Does anyone have any further information on this car? Any idea if it actually runs?

I saw clips of it on instagram. Just turned the motor over. No revving or anything.

yeah, definitely don't post links to the videos or anything.

It runs, it's on a Motec m150.

Since the car was sponsored by Borla Induction i would guess the ITB's are one of their models retrofitted to the fa20 with custom manifolds.

Sounds like it idles and drives super smooth at slow parking lot speeds.. the hardest to do with and impressive for ITBs! :)

Agreed. Turbos and Superchargers make the 86 not an 86 anymore. FI is for fruitcakes.

i would go ITB before turbo on FR-S. i have had cars with both (not at the same time lol)

plus i happen to like fruitcake.

Also surprised it took 7 posts before it turned into a FI vs NA thread! Different strokes for different folks, personally I'd prefer to stay NA. I understand I won't make anywhere near as much power, but that's not why I'd be doing it.

Next up: why the next 86 needs a rotary engine.

I can't imagine that based on power alone this would be worth the time and money it would have to take to sort it out properly.
On the other hand, popping the hood to see that incredibly clean engine bay and those throttle bodies has got to be one hell of a "oh, shit, will you look at that" factor.

Down the road, all that extra space might allow for a pair of small, stupid fast spooling turbos.

Power + Power Delivery + Sound = worth it :)

I was jus jokings guyses, lol. I knew it would disturb FI people haha ;) ..had an SR S13 back in the day. My mildly built NA EG before that, was honestly much more fun (and faster..and less problematic..and more consistent..and simpler...etc, etc, etc). Would rather stay NA.
