F@@ck!! Good body shops to blend swp in Gta?
So after a year of babying this thing I fucked the bottom of the front bumper cover yesterday night. Cracked through the whole bottom part under the black grille and a nice flap underneath.. Dont have pics right now but from what I read most think it's easier/better just to dish out the $300 bucks on a new one rather than messing with filler and crap.
Did some research but couldn't find anybody really that has just had the front bumper painted/blended. (You do have to blend to get a decent result right?) what cost approximately do you guys think it'll come to? And most importantly I was hoping to get feedback from people who have also got paint blended somewhere around the GTA and how close they got it. Just moved to Mississauga 3 weeks ago so I have no idea where to go around there, I also drive to Hamilton everyday so in n around that area would be good to. I just want it to be a good job with this pearl shit that I wish I never got now. Thanks so much guys |
Uni Body Collission. Ask for Rich.. cool guy, does good work.
Let him know hark sent you! He did my fenders for reference of his work. |
We recommend European Autobody - they did a great job with our second trunk.
Ask for Manny only! |
Thanks guys,
Any whiteout owners with a blending experience? What would one expect to pay to get a new bumper installed/blended around the GTA? |
Fack fack faaaack looks this this is gunna be $2,000 + just to blend a new bumper, 1,000 + still if it's salvageable. Faaaaaack :( probably never getting a pearl car again. Had the same problem when I wanted to fix a chip on the roof. $500+ for a STONE CHIP.
Wonder how much it would cost to spray the car a new white without pearl... Did used to love civic white ... |
CLM collision at markham, they do work for speed stars, high quality stuff at realistic price.
They matched my pearl whiteout at the dented fender perfectly. |

How much is a new bumper?
Pearl white is a real bitch to blend in, sometimes it could take a shop a few tries before it looks decent. Flat paint is the easiest to work with obviously but it also doesn't hide swirls and scratches well. I had success with the GM dealer at Yonge and Doncaster (New Roads I think it's called, they use BASF paint system) when they did my Orange Golf's rear hatch at 2 months old (my garage door got accidentally activated while I had my hatch opened and it put a deep gorge right down the middle) and it cost me $500 bucks. Remained flawless for almost 7 years. |
A truck threw lots of rocks to my front bumper and windshield so I had my front bumper painted and it is a whiteout. To my knowledge, no blending was done. I do not see any issue with color match. I admit that I am not a picky person, but just saying that you might not need blending. I got it all done at Toyota's own paint shop and they did an excellent job. Don Valley North Collision Repair Center. Speak to Ricky if you call them, he is very helpful. He can also tell you if they usually do blending or not. I am not 100% sure what they did.

Op, check out paintforce.ca which is owned by Kevin. He's a magician when it comes to minor body work and yes he can blend the paint and he's mobile too. Good luck.

The bumper is only like $300 bucks but for him to paint and blend the whole bumper (if I provide the bumper) he said it was gunna come to 1900 and something. This is European auto body one of the more trusted ones around here I've read about. I'm going to be picky because the cars only a year old and I've read so many horror stories matching pearls. So I don't know If I want to cheap out. Gunna do more research and get a couple more quotes from shops I trust. Any who took a couple pics when I got home for all the people clicking this wanting to see the carnage.

All repair paint jobs require blending in with the adjacent panels it's just part of the refinish process. My friend has his front fender repaired at MS Auto and it took them like 4 tries to get it right.
When my old man sold Acuras back in the 90's for the Royfoss Group he did mention that not every dealership have their own body shop, and that dealership owned body shops are usually the best quality with access to OEM stuff (maybe bias since he sold the most NSX each year and their body shop had to spray new NSX replacement panels from time to time). But $1900 to respray just the front bumper only does sound steep to me. :iono: I've heard before that DVP North is owned by an entity in Japan, most likely emphasize on quality work. |
dude... call rich.. no way he'll charge you even close to that. no way.

Forget where the original thread about SWP was, but anyhow...
I've had two panels replaced on my car because people keep hitting my car.... The first one was the rear bumper cover, and the other one is the driver's side front fender. Both were replaced with OEM plastic and sprayed by Assured Automotive (Oaktown) in Oakville. The color of the rear bumper actually matched better than the OEM piece, and both are very very very close. They did blend my driver's side door to help. Only in some lighting conditions can you actually see a difference, but OEM cars would have the same difference too. My Opticoat guy couldn't even tell which panels were not original after a weekend of detailing it. |

Side fender was $1000 This included rental cars through my insurance claim Sent from my OnePlus One |
I would get a quote from 427 Auto Collision: http://www.427autocollision.com
Location: Kipling and Evans Dealerships within the area recommend it. They also send their vehicles to that location for repairs (customer vehicles). Marino's Group recommends it, I believe Acura Sherway does as well. I know a few people personally who have sent their vehicles there that were quite pleased with their work. I have not yet needed or used their services personally. |
Hey guys so I talked to European auto body again a couple days ago and was happy to hear the guy I spoke to there earlier didn't give me the right quote we didn't talk much. had a good talk with Manuel there and he was real helpful. Price just to paint is gunna be $600 without blending and around 1,100 with blending. Feeling a little happier now.

Drill 1/8" holes on both sides and stitch it with 14 or 12 wag solid copper wire. Racecar battle scars.
