GReddy GTX-R Tuner Turbo kit

Displayed at SEMA, has anyone seen this yet?

Other big news that we mentioned earlier in the year was GReddy's new partnership with Turbo By Garrett. By adding Garrett GTX-R turbos to our Turbo Kit line-ups, we are able to maintain top quality performance, with more power range options. Our first two GReddy GTX-R Turbo kits will be updates to our R35 GT-R Twin Turbo Upgrade and our FR-S/BRZ Turner Turbo Kits...
Looks like existing greddy kit owners can upgrade easily by swapping the turbo (and maybe downpipe?). Still don't see a BOV though... although if the journal-bearing T518Z could handle the back pressure, the ball-bearing GTXs should be ok I guess.

“Service availability is important to us,” says Quincy Tam, manager of GReddy Performance Products. “Customers who want to have their turbo kits serviced are able to send them in and get tested easily in the U.S. rather than a Japanese manufacturer.”

Now that GReddy is making a change for these kits to be more adaptable to the U.S. market, not only are they switching out their turbochargers, but they are also switching out their Trust wastegates to Tial units. This is will make their kits more cost effective and affordable.

Is there a difference in power? The Garrett GTX3076R is one of the most popular turbo upgrades for the GTR. It has a good balance between response and peak power, and can make up to 1,100 hp, which is ideal for street form.

“From kit to kit, we try to balance out what we used to have,” Tam responds. “We come across gains and sometimes losses, so it comes out to doing more work and testing. With that, every kit we have done thus far, has been getting better gains as far as response and peak power, but we will continue to test.”

These kits will be available for the Nissan GT-R, Scion FR-S, and Subaru BRZ by the first of the year of 2015. Upcoming months, they will continue development for other turbo kits for the Nissan 350Z & 370Z, which will also adapt to the change from the Mitsubishi turbochargers to the Garrett turbochargers.

I will be at Evasive tomorrow I will try to see if they heard anything about pricing or fitment yet :burnrubber:

This will be a great combo. For anyone who'd driven a greddy equipped car you notice the spool is incredibly quick with the short piping. With a gtx garrett and that piping it will be just a bit slower to spool, but hit like a freight train.

LOL I love this part: "and can make up to 1,100 hp, which is ideal for street form."

Yep! 1,100 hp, IDEAL for us street drivers!!

lucid215 11-12-2014 02:42 PM

so other then switching to a garret turbo, is there any other difference between the old and new kit?

Reaper 11-12-2014 02:51 PM

Doesn't appear to be. It's about time they did this though.

The Racers Line 11-12-2014 09:31 PM

So it's a gtx3076 for the gtrs but what size turbo for the ft86 kit?

It's not... completely finalized yet.

dabocx 11-12-2014 10:05 PM

I imagine at gtx2867 or the new gtx2871

midnight23 11-13-2014 02:20 AM

they were testing a gt28 with the greddy stroker kit when I saw it today, they changed the intake system as well to a better position.

Curious of what you know are you looking at trying (the new Greddy setup)?
I know you've had great luck with your existing setup.

yes I will most likely be upgrading to it once it is available or if I can get my hands on a prototype, they were testing on e85 so i'll have a good idea of how different these turbos perform.

Knshro13 11-13-2014 10:33 PM

They only changed the intake on the Mackin FR-S because they were able to. With the Greddy kit (updated), the intake will most likely remain the same. The issue is with the lack of space. What Midnight was looking at was a custom Suction tube that took the air filter to where the windshield sprayer tank sits. The Mackin car doesn't have that anymore, nor does it have a front crash beam. So this allows them to put the air filter there.

Greddy will have updates very soon. Stay tuned!

I was already planning on my setup with the Greddy kit when i get back from deployment. Cant wait for this updated kit now!

Shinchu 11-15-2014 08:03 AM

if i ever do go turbo, this is how i would do it.
especially if it gets CARB exemption! (i know, "dream on")

i had the T518Z on my silvia while stationed in japan. it was a GREAT little snail, nearly instant boost and had no problems holding 400hp at 16 lbs all day long.
oh i had some other goodies too but the turbo showed no sign of strain to keep up.
so if this garret is even better? badical.

It will not due to deleting one of the OEM catalytic converters.

Shinchu 11-15-2014 08:52 PM

well there goes that, then.

Knshro13 11-16-2014 10:36 PM

Shinchu, I noticed you are from Team Hinga. I am a friend of Booney. and of Ernie Fixmar.

I am also originally from Okinawa.

Also, good to hear this little 518 (or TD0518G) can hold 400ps!

Celigts 11-20-2014 02:46 AM

Any updates??? Anoxious awaiting. I'm in the market for a kit...so far I'm leaning ptuning but word of this greddy kit is intriguing.

Primeraman 11-20-2014 04:20 AM

When I get back in country Im going with the Greddy. I stopped by Dynosty before I left for deployment and the highly reccomended the Greddy kit. I imagine its going to be even better with the GTXr turbo.

lucid215 11-20-2014 11:37 AM

@Primeraman where you stationed at?

Primeraman 11-20-2014 11:38 AM

Ft Campbell. Im in Afghanistan now

Primeraman 11-20-2014 11:42 AM

Just looked at your profile....haha. which BRZ are you? Im the silver FRS that had temporary tags, TSW Nurburgrings, and trd exhaust.

beforprez 12-22-2014 09:28 PM

upgrade

Any updates. I have the original Greddy kit now waiting for upgrade.

Corner3garage 12-24-2014 04:33 PM

The entire Greddy line is going to be revamped with Garrett turbos and that is why the older FRS kits are selling like crazy right now.

Alltezza 12-24-2014 05:55 PM

stevo_12v 12-27-2014 08:23 AM

Anyone know if these will come with a V-mount setup? Or an different sized intercooler if your planning to V-mount?

SomeoneWhoIsntMe 12-27-2014 08:29 AM

anyone know if there's a greddy part # for the intercooler alone without the rest of the kit?

kcam86 02-15-2015 11:47 AM

Any updates on this? I cant find any new stuff on it.

raytrix 02-15-2015 02:35 PM

They have the T620Z kit available. I believe it uses the 20G unit? Also there is a catted version of the kit for sale with the cat built in the header for $400 more than a non-catted version.

Update:

I found this on instagram. Looks like they are exploring a new routing option and larger intercooler for the garrett stage 2 turbo upgrade.

Bumping this as it looks like Greddy has released their kit!

Check it out here
. I'm interested if the intercooler routing means you no longer have to cut the crash beam.

RedZaku 12-10-2017 07:53 PM

from the photo looks like you do
