FR-S in GTA
 

Hi everyone,

I'm from Toronto and ordered an asphalt FRS last week. Was told it should be here by end of June at latest. Works out for me as I'm going away to watch the EURO in Ukraine for 2 weeks and back for end of June.


Was wondering who else from GTA is waiting on their car, what was your ETA?
Who has their car already?

I also placed my order of a Whitout FR-S 6MT, last week Friday. This was at Don Valley North Toyota/scion. The sales guy says the first shipment will all go to the early birds who pre-ordered, and the next shipment is said to arrive at the end of the month.

I went to DVN as well at first, seemed like a too-busy-to-give-a-shit-about-customers kinda dealership..
so I went to Markville instead

I had the same feeling also when i walked in their. Their the type of dealership where they let you browse, and if you have questions or intentions to buy you flagged them down lol. Sort of like Bestbuy and not futureshop.

Agreed re: DVN. Keep in mind that Marville is owned by the same people, however.

Anyway, I've got an Ultramarine ordered from Ken Shaw for late June delivery.

Went to Attrell Toyota in Brampton today. Almost committed to an order for an Asphalt MT + the upgraded stereo. Sales guy said he was pretty confident he could get it before end of June.

As mentioned I almost committed to the order but the numbers that they came up with were a bit suspect. Basically with $0 down, 48 month lease @ 4.9% they came up with $448 per month taxes included. Total on delivery was about $100 + licensing. Based on the numbers coming back from scion.ca that monthly looks to be about $20 more.

Wondering if anyone out there thinks the monthly is correct based on MSRP + the upgraded stereo + the rest (freight/PDI etc.). Sorry I don't have the complete price breakdown. They wouldn't let me take it with me but I did take some notes.

I bought mine from scarborough toyota. I should be getting the keys tomorrow (tuesday). IMO best place to buy this car. Jure, is the man you wanna talk to.

I ordered a Firestorm AT from Oakville Toyota in early May, was told that it would arrive in Vancouver in the first week of June (got an email today saying it was at the port) and that I could expect delivery in 2 weeks

Looks like people in the GTA are one of the last to take delivery.

It may be the anti-thieft system from Global-I that basically registers all your car parts with the company incase it gets stolen.. you can opt out of it.. I did

I opted out of this as well. They charge $350 for Global-I and for nitrogen in your tires (which I was told they will come with either way), so that is probably where you're seeing the discrepancy

Tx guys for mentioning the Global-I. I'll see if they added that on as well.

I did happen to get a bit more information from them. Turns out they misunderstood me when I said I only wanted 20k per year (they did the quote for 24k) so that should be easy to address. Then they said they added a $399 "Toyota Green Program" fee (:S). Told them I wanted out of that as well. I'll make sure to kick out the Global-I if they added that as well.

Did you get your car yet? I've also ordered from Scarborough and I was told June 13 at the earliest. I was one of the first few to pre-order too...

When did you order yours? Do you know if your car is in Toronto or on the way from Vancouver?

I've been told I'm part of the second batch, so I should expect it by End of June, haven't been told much else.

Just curious who else is in my situation at Scarborough Toyota.

I ordered a manual hot lava back at the beginning of may from Scarborough Toyota and I've also been told June 13-16 delivery.

I had pre-ordered back in April. I didn't bother asking for my VIN because it's just unnecessary stress checking the status every day. I know it's on route though because the other day I went to test drive the white MT to satisfy my urges and Jure told me that if I wanted to switch to white, they could do a swap on route for me. I think it's highly likely that they will receive the first batch next week.

Pre-ordered mine in november, it arrived on June 4th, its now sitting next to my AE86 :)

From what I understand, they received their first batches this week, or maybe part of their first batch?

I have a silver MT, on pre-order, they told me they would try to swap it for a Firestorm if possible. Wonder why you are able to switch so easily to a white on route, but they can't do so for me =S

I ordered a Raven MT from Yorkdale Toyota/Scion last Monday (June 18th) and was told to expect it in two weeks...hoping to hear something this week!

Ordered June 5th. Mine should be the one that is coming next from the dealership I ordered from. 1.5 weeks on the train and another few days for PDI/cleaning so I'm expecting Mid-July delivery

Ordered mine mid-May, am taking delivery on Monday!!

I noticed your from Markham also. Which dealership did you order from? I ordered my Whitout 6MT on June 1st, and expected to pickup early July. Not to mention this was from DVN highest volume seller.

Nice! I ordered mine mid-May from DVN and it is coming Monday as well. Can't wait! I just wish I didn't have to wait all weekend for it.

Ordered mid April. Got VIN # mid May. Still no car.

What dealership did you order from? Did you try contacting info@scionnation.ca?

Hey Ultra86. Same here. I will get mine tomorrow too at DVNT. It's been a month and the wait is finally over.

Erin Park in 'sauga. I contact the dealer about once a week. It came into port about a month ago, and sat there a looong time (presumably because of the rail strike). I got an e-mail last Monday stating that the car had made it to the "yard" in Toronto. A full week later, and It hasn't made it to the dealer yet. I got to rub elbows with some Scion reps at an FR-S track event last weekend (Shannonville, ON), and some of them are almost as frustrated as we are. Kingston Toyota/Scion (a comparably small dealership) has already sold 3 or 4 cars, and has 2 just sitting there on the lot (Firestorm AT and Raven MT). Grrr. Maybe this week...

Was at that event too and they were surprised that the GTA hasnt seen their vehicles yet.

Ordered June 9th from DVN. Still no word:(

God dammit I just want my car already. This long brutal waiting in the dark is the worst. Allocating based on dealer overall output rather than dealer FRS demand was a terrible roll-out strategy.

I ordered June 1st, still waiting for my whiteout mt.

Did they give you a date? Who did you deal with there?

I delt with Ricky, and he said there will be no more cars coming this month. Will have to wait till July. Another thing i heard was not all First shipment buyers from DVN have there cars yet.

anyways Spotted a Raven frs yesterday oh god it got me soooo excited i think my head was about to explode

I already saw a white, blue, and silver so far.

I got to see one in every color last weekend. My favorites are ultramarine and hot lava. Asphalt really pops in the sunlight, Whietout looks great...and I'm not a white car guy. Firestorm suits the car very well, Raven is nice, but I found that it hid the body lines somewhat. Argento is silver.

Your dealerships are so slow..I got mine June 5 ordered from middle of may...is this due to the strike or something else...we should have had a meet already haha..I think it really depends on the scion brand manager of each dealership...hassle them enough and demand your Pre ordered cars!

I honestly wouldn't even believe what the dealership has to say about delivery dates. They don't seem to be very accurate. I have a friend who preordered on the first day and still hasn't gotten his car. Yet I read that others who just walk in and somehow can get one right away. It's luck of the draw. I don't see any sort of organization as to which cars are arriving first. I see some dealerships with silver FR-S that didn't sell right away because they didn't even get any silver preorders. So why did HQ ship them a silver one?

BTW I spotted a white, silver, and black FR-S yesterday and two WRB BRZs. Not sure wtheck was happening but spotted them everywhere.
