On stock suspension, yes.

CSG David...could you explain why stock suspension would rub and aftermarket would not? I'm looking at similar fitment to above but 18x9 et 45. If they don't fit with stock suspension, would it be very close and possibly rub with Ohlins?

Stock suspension(struts/springs) are a lot wider than coil overs which allow for wider wheels and bigger offsets. I suggest going with 245/40.

My 245 40 on 17 x 9 +42 barely fits on stock suspension with proper camber. I couldn't even get 1.2 degrees without it rubbing. 9.5 and 255? no way without coilovers.

Because the back rim of the wheel is touching the spring, with an after market coilover you can add negative camber (which pushes the top of the coilover closer towards the engine), clearing the wheel

I can't fit my TE37SL 18 x 9.5 +45 without coilovers. LCA were ONLY required on the rear, if you aren't going to slam your car for more camber

I have Tein monoflex coilovers and with max negative camber, I had slight inner fender liner rubbing on the front wheel when taking corners hard. So, lets say I set -1 camber in the front and rear should 255/40/17 have any rubbing front or rear?

Does the brand of coilovers matter? I want to fit 18x9 et 45 with 235 or 245 tires with -1.5 degree camber on ohlins coilovers. Will that easily fit?

Yes.

My Enkie RPF1, 17x9x45, 235/40 Nitto, hit the stock front coil. I had to add a 10mm spacer.
Back cleared OK.

A 17x9+35 might work better. Even then, I think you might need some negative camber up front

Try raising the car a little bit. That action remedies that particular issue. :)

You need a coilover with around a 60mm diameter spring. Factory springs are 90mm diameter at minimum.

Sort of. It depends on the diameter of spring your specific coilover uses, but the higher end stuff can be converted to use any diameter spring.

The max for stock or lowered suspension (non-coilover) seems to be around 245 front and 265 rear on 8.5 width fronts and 9.5 width rears. Anything wider than that would need coilovers.

245/40/17s on 17x8 or 8.5 seems to be a good all around size for this car.
