Deadly deal | Mishimoto MMCK-BRZ-13BK Cooling Kit for Subaru BRZ

Got it from FB.
Hey Guys - Just want to give everyone a heads up on this - Saw this on Amazon.First thought was that it's got to be some mixup or not legit. Talked to Mishimoto about it and it IS a legit product kit. Amazon just has the price wrong and they are 'working' on fixing it. If anything i've learned about e-commerce is correct, this might be a good chance to get a killer deal. Even if they fix it after you buy it, i doubt they'll ask you to pay more, and they certainly can't force you. So - worth a shot, nothing to lose really for $130.

Is this thicker than the stock rad? is it a direct replacement from the OEM rad? not sure how much more it can be efficient if it the same thickness..

woode 10-29-2014 01:11 AM

When you search the exact same part number that is listed on Amazon, it pulls up other vendors selling for ~$130 as well. I'm not convinced this is the same radiator that Mishimoto lists as $420.

On the flip side, I don't really know what else it could possibly be... weird.

Cop 10-29-2014 01:11 AM

Hmmm....seems legit? According to Mishimoto's site all these parts would be ~$700 retail.

I just added it up too. It's an Amazon Prime item sold by Amazon. If it turns out wrong it shouldn't be too hard to get money back.

@Mishimoto?

I just went to checkout and noticed:
  • Mishimoto MMCK-BRZ-13BK Cooling Kit for Subaru BRZ $129.11 - Quantity: 1
Usually ships within 1 to 2 months.
    Sold by: Amazon.com LLC
I think I still might buy it - I mean, they have to honor the price.. If not, I'll just get my money back. After being burned for thousands of dollars by FA20Club, nothing can be as bad as that.

I have Mishimoto's Oil Cooler. I had an issue with the plate and their customer service was great; sent me out a replacement instantly. The banjo fitting was being a pain in the ass, took me a while to get it to stop leaking though. Even now, it still has a drop every now n then.. But it functions great.

EDIT: I bought it. The wait begins.

Just spent $$$ thanks to you

EDIT: it's worth the wait even if that is a real shipping time frame, the worst that can happen is amazon refuse the sale and refund the money. I purchased a set of (4) 17X9 RPF1's on ebay for $256 shipped. Obviously it was a typo. Apparently the seller was "sold out" and cancelled my order and issued me a refund. Worth a shot.

What's the worst that can happen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Bought it as well :D

Half tempted to buy several and resell for a profit.. but 1) seems a bit risky and 2) kind of a **** move

Edit: didn't realize **** was sensored.. of all the things.

Ha, I thought the same thing but decided against it. Really looking forward to how this plays out. We'll have to keep this thread alive if the sales really go through.

According to Mishimito, it is:

...34mm thick, which is over twice the thickness of the stock radiator...adding 46% cooling capacity...

Carlitoz3 10-29-2014 01:40 AM

Placed an order as well!
Would have preferred red hoses, but for the price, ill just shut my mouth lol.

VacantSky 10-29-2014 01:42 AM

also to note, that hose kit is $118 by itself: [ame="http://www.amazon.com/Mishimoto-MMHOSE-BRZ-13BK-Silicone-Radiator-Subaru/dp/B00FIWJUGA"]Amazon.com: Mishimoto MMHOSE-BRZ-13BK Black Silicone Radiator Hose Kit for Subaru BRZ: Automotive[/ame].

You always need that extra cooling :w00t:

True, haha. Actually my coolant hovers at 192F right now daily driving. A few degrees cooler wouldn't hurt. Oil is almost a little too cold lately, 165-185.

Same. Although my summers out here in NM get stupid hot so it could be nice even if I stay as full NA bolt ons. I am slowly prepping the car for FI so this will be nice later down the road. I'll probably just keep it new in box until I'm ready for my SC. If my plans ever fall through, it's a quick $400 :iono:

Cop 10-29-2014 01:50 AM

Just looked at the install video and it looks like a pita...

VacantSky 10-29-2014 01:52 AM

I'll take PITA for a potential $500 discount. But lets not take taking a pain in the ass too literal though... lmao

Cop 10-29-2014 01:53 AM

Agreed. Hopefully this turns out well for everyone that purchased it.

Decay107 10-29-2014 01:54 AM

I have absolutely zero need for this nor the desire to install it, but why the hell not? :D

Carlitoz3 10-29-2014 01:58 AM

At the next car meet we will all be rolling in our new Mishimoto radiators

Well, judging by the estimated 1-2 month shipping, you might be waiting a little bit for those updates.

Ship time says 1-2 months. So I'll be betting they have the price fixed before anyone gets a radiator. Honestly the best thing to do is just slap it on a credit card an await amazons cancellation. If they don't cancel they've accepted the mistake, will continue with the transaction and hopefully people's radiators will start to show up. If not, complaints and refunds will shortly follow.

ohnoitsthefuzz 10-29-2014 02:21 AM

No need for it but damn.....just....can't.....put.....away.......my.. .....creddiiitttt caaarrrddd......:mad0259:

Also I love in the "Frequently Bought Together" section just below the ad it shows the Mishimoto radiator kit and "Fire TV Stick". Hmmmm......seems totally sensible.:iono:

NorCal_Guy 10-29-2014 02:52 AM

Screw it I pulled the trigger aswell worst case scenario I get a refund.

VacantSky 10-29-2014 03:10 AM

Can't pass that up. They even ship to Canada, I've never seen an amazon.com company do that. I'll let ya know how it works out.

raven1231 10-29-2014 06:20 AM

yeah, it's on several sites....

raven1231 10-29-2014 06:22 AM

am I the only one not seeing where it says the radiator is included? It just lists the hose and thermostat, although the picture shows it.

manonastick 10-29-2014 06:24 AM

I took the bullet too and I live in Australia haha

Description at the bottom says it includes radiator, hose kit, and replacement thermostat.

I bought it as well. In for the wait.

raven1231 10-29-2014 06:49 AM

I don't need this either but it is a hell of a buy.

07jazzrs5gt86 10-29-2014 06:54 AM

Just saw this thread and went to amazon for the purchase
Hope we all get it for that price since its a killer deal that can't pass up

SomeoneWhoIsntMe 10-29-2014 07:13 AM

I can't even use the hoses or the thermostat and to use the rad I'm going to have to have the ins and outs rewelded, but god damnit that's a good price. Ordered.
