Torque app problem
So I have a mini OBDII (ELM327) Bluetooth from eBay. I have a Galaxy TAB 4. I was able to PAIR the OBD, but when I open torque it connects for 10 seconds and then it shows it cannot connect to the ECU of the car. Whats wrong :( it connect for a good 10 seconds.
Delete and reinstall app on your TAB 4.

Maybe I should get a different OBD. Did you buy the Torque App? Or you rooted device and cracked the app? LOL |
My ELM327 does that too. It'll stay connected with a laptop, but not my phone.
I bought the app and 2 different adapters
What are your units? Minis? I think of getting a full size OBD
Yeah they're elm327 minis
I had this problem with my carista app, on my friends car, but all I delete was delete all my paired bluetooth devices and press unpar on my galaxy s3 then redo the connection after restarting the device. I don't know if this is a similar issue.
maybe try a wifi elm327?
How do you do it with the laptop? Windows?

If you need recommendations for a new OBD, I have the full size one from BAFX. I've been using it with my Nexus 7 Tablet for a year and now my new Galaxy Note 4 the past week and it's been pretty solid for me with Torque.

From what I read when researching for my own setup, connection problems with Torque like what the OP is experiencing are usually caused by minor differences in the protocols used in some of the cheap bluetooth connectors. These Taiwan operations are making units with bootleg firmware that is old, and that sometimes renders them incompatible with some of the devices and/or software. From what I've read, switching to a different connector usually solves the problem. If you buy the connector from Amazon, you can pretty easily identify the duds because people will get on there and bitch in the reviews. One word of warning: Do NOT use any of the software on any CD that comes with the cheap OBDII connectors. Don't even put the CD in your computer. Those things are riddled with malware because those companies put those CDs together from cracked software they find on the internet. |
Try disconnect the elm and connected while connecting to the car
So I tried my set up with my other car (Accord) and it worked fine. Problem is not from the tablet nor elm327. It's the car that rejects it. Why?

The devices run perfectly on all my cars though I use torque and Carista all the time with them |
