Stats project

So I have a project for my stats class and hope you guys can help, if you could answer the question it would really help. The question is, on your phone what operating system do you use? If you don't have a phone or the operating systems that are shown at the top hit neither. Thanks again

iOS, but I will be switching to Android once my contract is up. Not pleased with Apple's little stunt with U2.

Pandanoid 10-22-2014 07:50 PM

Android here!

Why is this better than pulling the widely available and heavily analyzed market share data?

Is the hypothesis that new car owners/appreciators have a brand preference?

Mim 10-22-2014 09:19 PM

iOS because I want it to be secure and reliable. That and I've been roped in with too many apps to make a switch to anything else!

I'll mention my fav app too. CineXPlayer which handles 1080p MKV movie files, has DTS/AC3 support and syncs with IMDB for art work and metadata to all your movies. Just need iTunes to transfer the files from or to any machine so the device doubles as a USB storage unit for vid files too :D

Demandred7 10-22-2014 11:45 PM

BlackBerry, because all other devices security are a joke.

I understand most people's reasons for wanting to switch from iOS to Android and vice versa, but this one baffles me. You know it's really easy to log into your iCloud account and delete that album if you don't want it, right?

My issue is not that it's there; my issue is that they decided to put it there without my knowledge or approval. That's very arrogant and presumptuous of them. Especially coming so soon after the whole iCloud hack and celeb nude leak scandal. Not only do we have to worry about hackers getting into our data, we have to worry about Apple getting into it too. It's like the owner of a storage facility helping himself to whatever's in your locker. And I have issue with that.

extrashaky 10-23-2014 11:39 AM

I have both. Now what smart guy?

tennisfreak 10-23-2014 12:06 PM

Windows Phone FTW

Ammunition 10-23-2014 01:26 PM

I voted iPhone because I've had mine for three years now, but if it matters any I'm not happy with it, and I'm looking into getting a Windows phone as soon as I can decide which one I want to go with.

GL with the class, and your assignment! :)

The iCloud "hack" was a targeted effort where the "hackers" were just making guesses at passwords. Unless your password is something easy to guess, you don't have to worry about anything personal getting out. The security on Apple devices has always been better than their competitors.

I don't have anything on my cloud worth stealing, so I'm honestly not worried about it being hacked. It was the arrogance shown by Apple to peremptorily push an album to everyone without asking first, and whether they wanted it or not.

I was with you up to that last sentence... There's no indication that there has been a fault in Apple's security as of late.

ric342 10-25-2014 11:28 PM

Just want to say thanks to all who are helping.
