HAVE YOU PUT SOMEONE IN THE BACK OF THIS CAR?

Let's be honest, there is no leg room in the backseat of the BRZ....

but is it possible? if so, how uncomfortable is it?

wbradley 10-21-2014 02:52 PM

My 7 year old, ever since he was 5 when I first got the car. Kinda sucks for the person in the seat in front of him. The solution is to get him to remove his shoes so he can put his feet up on the centre console if needed.

EAGLE5 10-21-2014 02:54 PM

7yo in the back. 9yo in the front. 5 days a week. It won't work forever, but it works for now. I figure another couple years.

carma143 10-21-2014 02:58 PM

Im 17 with a height of 5'9" and I can comftorably fit in the back seat as long as before the front seats are put back that I slide my feet between the 2 plastic seat supports on the floor. it gives hardly and room for movement, but I could sit behind like that for a good 2 hours.

Mind you this is with a 6'0" person in front of me in the passenger seat without feeling uncomftorable.

srizzors25 10-21-2014 03:04 PM

I'm 5'6" and have pretty short legs but it still tough for most people to sit behind me. The most recent solution, and I've done this a few times now is to have 2 other people in the car and have the third person just sit across the back seat. Not really sure how you would fit 4 in the car unless they were kids or all my height haha

Martinius 10-21-2014 03:13 PM

had to fit 3 more people in the car once. Gf in the passenger seat, her friends with shoes off, feet on the backseats. Doable for a short (15 min) ride.

tahdizzle 10-21-2014 03:19 PM

NO, I HAVEN'T. BUT SOME ONE CLAIMS TO HAVE FIT FOUR ADULTS BACK THERE.

kdmxdgt 10-21-2014 03:22 PM

if the person/people are small(er) it should be comfortable enough... i have had my friends daughter in the back for 5 minutes. she is 5'2'' and probably 100lbs tho.

aznatama 10-21-2014 03:28 PM

YES I HAVE, NOT GOOD FOR LONG DISTANCES UNLESS THEY'RE SMALL THOUGH. NEED A HEARING AID?

navanodd 10-21-2014 03:49 PM

I've had myself and 3 other adults in the car countless times. I wouldn't want to drive more than a half hour or so like that, but its definitely doable.

shiumai 10-21-2014 04:16 PM

My 6-yr old son sits back there in his child seat, with my wife in the front seat slid all the way forward. When he gets too big to fit back there comfortably, we'll probably put him up for adoption.

gramicci101 10-21-2014 04:18 PM

My 5'5" coworker. She's thin and flexible though, so we made it work. ;)

CBRZY 10-21-2014 04:23 PM

I'm 6'1 and push my seat almost all the way back. No one sits behind me, nor are they able to. But two shorter people can fit in the passenger and rear seat.

robr 10-21-2014 04:30 PM

We've fit 4 full-sized adults in an FRS. I'm 6'1" and sat behind someone that is 5'9". Other dude in the back was about 5'9" and sat behind another guy about the same height. Wasn't terrible (I've been in worse back seats).

The main trick is that you have to put your feet on the floor, then slide the front seat over them, wedging your feet into place. That's where they will be the remainder of the trip, so pick wisely.

Hitting your head on the roof/rear window was unavoidable, to me, without bending towards the middle...in which case I hope you like the person next to you.

strat61caster 10-21-2014 04:48 PM

I've fit four adults and didn't hear any complaints, but they're car guys so they were just enjoying the ride.

Driver/Front Passenger
Rear Left/Rear Right

5'8"/6'2"
5'6"/5'8"
The right side guys switched for the ride back.

Also:
5'8"/5'8"
NA/5'8"
With full luggage and stuff in the trunk for a weekend trip.

Sat in the back once on a trip to the airport, I get that it's not ideal but most of the challenge lies in getting in/out imo more so than the space once you've got yourself compacted and your feet are stuffed under the seat in front.

mush 10-21-2014 05:07 PM

Ive had girls back there a few times

ToyoburuBRZ 10-21-2014 05:13 PM

I've had 2 people in the back before.... pretty uncomfortable for me as a driver but if you have no other option than it is possible

tomaszjanczak 10-21-2014 05:19 PM

I've had all my seats filled a number of times and no one ever complained and even when I asked, some of them even said the back seats were really comfortable. I never got an answer that was worse than "it's really not that bad." It's true that the people in the back won't really be able to change the positioning of their feet but I've had people back there sitting for 2+ hours on a trip once and they said it wasn't a problem. I don't think it's uncomfortable, more like "snug."

THIS.

I laughed harder than I should have after reading this haha

infakt 10-21-2014 07:11 PM

Im 6'4" so theres just no way two people can sit in the back of my car, i call it a 3 seater as ive had people kinda lay across with their butt on one chair and feet on the other

Djratrap 10-21-2014 08:35 PM

I'm 5'9 and have fit a 5'10 and 6' person in the back at the same time, it just really sucked for the driver and the passenger. It is doable though.

G-awesome 10-21-2014 08:58 PM

my uncle who sat awkwardly sideways on a 15min ride home. My cousin had to push the passenger seat a bit to the front so his knees were touching the dash. They were not amused with the back seat to say the least.

Cliu91 10-21-2014 09:25 PM

You can fit two small asian women. That's about it.

bumppinKota 10-21-2014 11:16 PM

My friends fight for the back seat. And I'm short enough that my tallest friend fits in the seat behind me with out adjusting... Lol.

I drove three teenagers to a birthday party.
They are all over 6 foot and now i have to clean their hair gel off the rear glass.

fuck that. make them do it.

tigermack 10-22-2014 04:22 AM

My gf took her shoes off and crossed her feet on the seat. This was with the race seat, which has more leg room than the stock seats. I don't see her doing that for longer than an hour...

Ganthrithor 10-22-2014 05:59 AM

I actually put people back there reasonably often. I've never had anyone straight-up not fit. I wouldn't put people back there for longer trips, but for crossing town it's no big deal. I've been really pleased with this car's overall practicality, actually.

Bobblehead 10-22-2014 08:15 AM

I've fit 3 passengers in my car more times than I can remember. One particular time a 5' 10" friend of mine was in the passenger seat, and my 5'8" girlfriend was in the back with a 5'5" friend of ours. We had to have our seats moved up a little to give the people in back some leg room, but it wasn't impossible.

I don't know why everyone keeps freaking out about putting people in the back of this car. Its not comfortable, but it works.

midnight23 10-22-2014 09:01 AM

3 adults in the back seats. had to move the front seats up but this car can do 4 passengers.

DarkSunrise 10-22-2014 10:30 AM

Only one time - put a friend and his wife in the back seats. It was a tight fit. My wife and I had to pull our seats forward to accommodate them.

Still, it worked for a 30 min. trip and we all laughed about it while driving. And they were happy for the ride. It's not ideal, but it's better than nothing.

SkAsphalt 10-22-2014 10:48 AM

I HAVE PUT SOMEONE IN THE BACK SEAT
WHY ARE WE YELLING
WHY IS THIS A TOPIC??
I BELIEVE THIS GETS ASKED EVERY FEW MONTHS

daiheadjai 10-22-2014 11:13 AM

Not pleasant, but not impossible. I drove my parents and my sister home from the airport in the BRZ

Had four 6 footers in the car once on the way to lunch. The two in the back chose to walk back to work when we were done....
