What function can it be used for, the idle button in red.
a good place.:) |
For the automatic transmissions this is for the sport / snow settings.
|
Nice spot for a fog light switch if you ask me!

Ejection ala James Bond
|
What about that empty square next to the handbrake? Anyone know what's supposed to go there?

How about this : a really good button for a controller of the exhaust sound: quiet, loud, instead of the wireless controller like bluetooth
|
My vote: stealth mode toggle lol
|
Front/rear power split controller

bass control knob

Oil slicks/smoke screen/machine guns ala spy hunter!

All good ideas. Push Button start would be nice. Keep it in the theme of the buttons that are already there, and not s big red button lol. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It would just look cleaner.

Fog light controller: front on (with or without lights), front and back on, both off

:burnrubber: I press and hold the left one every time I start the car :) |
what does holding it on startup do?

Replace that empty spot with a button for an electrical hide-away retractable license plate! No need for those holes in the bumpers or those offset tow-hook mounts! :happyanim:

What does it do on a MT car? I actually want to know because I can't think of a single purpose for it. It's an ECT button toyota has used for decades more or less. |
I am pretty sure only the AT has that "Sport/Snow" button in the middle; regardless whether it's an 86, FR-S, BRZ, or GT86... We need interior pictures of those "toyota 86 in asia" you speak of.

I will let you know. I pre ordered my second MT in asia |

I might do garage door opener instead of getting homelink mirror/visor.
|
You could install the button used with the auto transmission and connect it to an e-cutout on the exhaust.
|
I actually took the panel apart and checked what it's like. The pictures are back home, so I can't upload them.
The "panel" that's there is actually a rocker switch. After shaving off 4 small bits, the switch rocks forward and backward. As of now, there is no resistance to the switch. However, the circuit board below is already setup for a switch pushing forward and backward. What's missing? Well, it needs 2 push pins to connect the rocker to the contact pads. It also needs the PCB pins and the connector pins. I plan to check my stock of connector pins in a week when the car is torn apart. In the end, once all the correct parts are sourced, it will be very easy to make that rocker switch control whatever you want. Garage remote. Radar Detector Mute. Ejector Seat. |

The ejector seat would really be my first option, but that might be a little tough on the roof. |
that button is reserved for NAAWS...

Awaiting images with baited breath :)

So I say Oil slick, for in front of the rear tires for extra drift "control" |
nos button

I will lable it IID. Points for those who can guess what that one is. |
I'm developing an aftermarket part for the car that will have a button installed in that space that will make the car run 90% quieter.
When you push the button, she stops talking. I know I know.. bad joke.;) |
