GTA Fall Cruise 2014
 

Alright it seems we have some good interest here so this is happening for sure

DATE WILL BE SUNDAY NOVEMBER 2ND

So I drove the fun route out to cobourg and my secret fun road is under construction so forget that. We will instead do the tried and tested creemore route which is quite a bit of fun and is a well known road in southern ontario. It is just off the 400 south of Barrie.

This is how the day will go:

Pre-meet/cruise: here all of us from the GTA will meet up and fill up the tanks and maybe get a bite to eat
Where - King City Service station (12001 Ontario 400 Vaughan, ON L7B 1A8)
When - I will be there at 1PM but our departure will be at 2PM

At 2 we will leave the king city station and head north on the 400 toward Barrie and get off at Mapleview drive exit and head west. We will then meet at the Canadian tire parking lot (80 Mapleview Drive W)

Precruise Meet - Here we will all meet up and wait for any body from the north that wants to come out or anyone that just missed us in King City
When - 2:45 the pre cruise should arrive
Where - 80 Mapleview Drive W

Cruise Route - We will be departing at ~3:00PM

1. We will leave the CT parking lot and head west on Mapleview Drive
2. Turn right on to HWY 27
3. Left onto Hwy 90 and continue until Angus
4. From here we will take the route in the link below

5. It is then easiest to just take HWY 89 east to the 400 where you can either just head home or go to the Cookstown Outlet Mall which is right next to the 400

Rules
-No Excessive Speeding
-No Dangerous/Careless driving (drifting, burnouts, etc)
-if I see either of these I will ask you to leave the cruise
-If you do something stupid and damage your own car or anyone else's it is not the forum's or organizer's responsibility
-Participants are totally responsible for their own actions, I will not be responsible for any of you getting speeding tickets or dangerous driving tickets
-Finally be respectful not only other participants, but also the people who live in the area, even though this will be on a sunday afternoon, I'm sure the people will not enjoy ignition cut backfire or tires squealing

One last thing.

We as a group are fortunate to have the ability to physically get out and enjoy our cars on a sunday afternoon, but there are many children who will be spending the same afternoon fighting a range of diseases in a hospital bed. In light of this, I will be asking (optional) for a donation from each participant that go directly to SickKids Foundation. :thumb up:

I don't know about you guys but I'm pretty excited for this, invite your friends, but make sure they are aware of the rules!

I think November 2nd seems to work for the most people so let's just go with that.

I also wanted to ask if anyone here knows a good spot in Markham for us all to meet that is preferably close to the 401

This weekend my friend and I are going to drive the route I posted just to make sure there is no construction

If you do make it as far as Cobourg, there is a great spot for pics on the wharf by the beach.

Can't do the Sunday unless it starts after about 1pm.

Why don't we do around 2-3pm November 2nd? I don't mind that time and day. Plus I got church in the morning anyways.

yeah i like the afternoon better as well, i think 2PM departure from markham would work, that way we can go there and comeback while there is still daylight. Anyone have any good places in markham to meet?

^its a good thing I drove it first, would have been a shame if we went to all the trouble of getting together and then running into construction
