Greddy Supreme Sp Exhaust

This exhaust just came out and I just received mines yesterday but did not have the time to installed it. I was wondering if anyone installed theirs and ran into any issues? Also did you use the 2 gaskets/bolts? Wondering if I should get OEM exhaust gaskets since hearing about leaks from the Elite exhaust that they had.

anewprelusion 10-15-2014 11:54 AM

I had mine installed already. No issues with the install. And yes, I used the gaskets and bolts that it came with.

Good to know, did you used the gasket for the midpipe to axelback or kept the donut?

anewprelusion 10-15-2014 01:54 PM

Sorry no sounds clips yet. It sounds awesome. So much bass. I can feel the rumble in my chest, and unfortunately in my head as well. So it may be too loud for me in the cabin. I'm considering going back to stock or trading for something quieter, like the q300. I'll see how I feel after a few more days. =/. I haven't heard the q300 with catless header before, but others claim q300 is almost stock like, with exception of getting on the throttle. I really thought the Supreme SP would yield similar results due to similar design. This was definitely not the case. Nothing "stock like" about it. Lol.

Also note that my current setup is Drop in filter, OFH, stock over and front pipe. Results may vary with other mods.

I used the 2 gaskets provided to connect the mid pipe to the small joint pipe, and then small joint pipe to the muffler. Reused the donut and spring Bolts to connect mid pipe to front pipe.

Thanks for the reply, thats interesting, I expected the sound to be similar to q300 and the sp elite from listening to those clips on youtube

Edit: Did not see that you had OFH. Cant wait for more sounds clips with different set ups.

STV3 10-15-2014 02:45 PM

Oh ok got scared for a second. Didn't see that you had a catless header at first. Ill be running mine with a catted UEL header and catted FP.

NLS8520 10-15-2014 10:58 PM

Looking forward to a sound clip/photo's.

Finally got around installing this last night, loving the sound. At idle it has a little rumble to it, at cruising speed its a bit louder than stock but no drones. Once you get on the gas, it sounds amazing. I don't know if it's placebo effect, but I feel like my car accelerated a little better, could be the weather though as it is getting colder. Will try to get some sound clips soon.

Sphirit 10-18-2014 07:33 AM

Sounds like sp elite no?

Would have had one for you guys today, but fucking FedEx wouldn't take the signed note I left on my front door in lieu of a signature. So now I have to wait until Monday to get it.

Got mine installed yesterday, and took a short sound clip with easy revving.
Hope this helps at least a little. Sorry about the quality. Took with iphone 5:(

STV3 10-20-2014 11:26 PM

Just installed mine tonight. I'm very happy with the way it sounds. Has a nice deep bassy rumble to it but not too loud at all. Pretty much sounds to me like what a stock sports car should sound like. I'll get up a video as soon as I can.

unlimited86 10-21-2014 12:51 AM

Havent got the time to record sound clip yet, but for the ones who installed it, how much gap do you have from the top of the exhaust tip to the bumper? I feel like mine is kind of low and does not fill up the hole that well.

anewprelusion 10-21-2014 02:33 AM

I'm happy to announce that the volume has actually mellowed down a bit and is more "bearable" than before. Maybe I'm just getting used to it. I'm going to try sound dampening to see if it helps even more. Again, catless header here.

Here's the only pic I have of mine. Might give you an idea on the gap.

Hmm..That looks like mine, I guess it's normal.

STV3 10-22-2014 02:17 PM

Here you guys go. FT86SpeedFactory Catted UEL header, Motiv Catted FP, and obviously Greddy Supreme Sp catback.

Going to make a better video over the weekend because there is too much wind noise in this one.

Wow that sounds sick, I'm stock with the supreme SP and I thought it already sounded good.

Could somebody do me a favour and take a photo of where the exhaust passes the rear member? Curious how close it passes it (I want lows!! :D)

I'm debating whether or not to pick one of these new suckers up right now. @anewprelusion In regards to your post that you can feel the SP's noise in your head, what did you mean? Are you eluding to drone or some sort? Can you go slightly more in into depth? Thanks! :D I, too, have catless headers and am in the boat to "quieten" my current set up for the daily driving. :/

Unfortunately I'm not too familiar with exactly what "drone" sounds like. The best I can describe it is that there's certain sound frequencies that goes through the head making it quite uncomfortable. It only occurred at lower RPMs (around 1500-2500), so it would pass quickly while shifting through gears, or while cruising. Since I have an A/T, I cruise in the city on 6th gear at this RPM range sometimes. It may be different for the M/T people.

Also note that I do believe I am more sensitive to sounds than others. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy loud exhausts, loud music, etc. But there's just certain sounds/frequencies that really bother me that others around me can't hear or don't notice. Like when an electrical device is emitting a faint sound in an otherwise silent environment.

HOWEVER, I don't know if I've gotten used to it, or the exhaust has quieted down after putting a few hundred miles on it, but I no longer feel this "uncomfortable" feeling in my head anymore. Which is why I have decided not to trade/go back to stock for now. I still find it a bit loud sometimes, but at least it's not uncomfortably loud.

I hope this helps you in your decision = )

Derka 11-02-2014 11:21 AM

I'm entirely the opposite way about this exhaust. It's quiet, almost too quiet. I've had invida q300 on my last civic si. Much louder than my frs.

This exhaust only let's you know it's there if you're WOT. And still the sound tube in the car is louder.

NLS8520 11-08-2014 07:02 PM

Any new videos? Perhaps one with the car pulling away going through the gears etc.

Lokenzi 11-15-2014 12:33 AM

Yes pls more vids! Was the base price 785 us dollars?

I just noticed some cosmetic differences between the manufacturer's marketing photos, and my own unit. I'm just curious as to why this may be? Was the unit on GReddy's pictures a prototype of some sort? What does everyone else's look like?

1.) "GReddy" etching on the tips.
GReddy's = different texture inside the GReddy name
Mine = same texture inside the GReddy name as the rest of the tip.

2.) GReddy plate w/serial number under the muffler
Greddy's = No plate
Mine = Yes plate

3.) Box/Packaging difference
Titan Motorsports = Displays a taller and narrow box.
Mine = Flatter, but wider box. (Maybe different packaging for pickups?)

Just curious. = )

unlimited86 12-10-2014 01:07 AM

Mine is the same as yours, but I do wonder why titan motorsports have narrow boxes.
The only thing that bothers me about the exhaust is that I feel like the tip should be higher and fill up the gap more, does anyone else feels that way or found a solution to it?

Yeah, I do think the exhaust tips hang a bit low. I didn't think so at first, but then I looked at other exhausts, and this exhaust's tips definitely hang lower than most. Are we even able to use OEM/OEM replica diffuser?

unlimited86 12-10-2014 01:54 AM

I'm wondering if aftermarket hangers would help, but man is it the picture or that Q300 left tips looks really off.

willnigguhwassuh 12-12-2014 02:40 PM

got mine installed a couple days ago. I love it!

Mine don't look anything like that picture. That needs to be adjusted more on the hangers to fit right by loosening it up. I've got Cusco exhaust hangers so that might be why. The Q300 is one of the best fitting catbacks I've had on this car so far.

Honestly, even with the low hanging, it doesn't look that bad. Much better than being crammed and almost rubbing.

anewprelusion 12-12-2014 02:59 PM

Yeah. I'm not too concerned about mine hanging too low. If anything, it looks better from a side profile, since the tips are revealed a bit more. My own opinion obviously. Just curious if this was by design from GReddy, or a design flaw, as we've seen several others that don't hang as low.
