What's your top speed?
Seems like since I bought the car I'm either flooring it or on here looking what my car could be so in curious what's the fastest you've driven? Specify track or road and if you've got any mods
Me 125 on the freeway and I'm all stock... For now |
I got to 127 GPS confirmed stock with the AT

I got up to about 110 in a school zone once, took a while though cause I had to build up speed passing through Make A Wish Foundation parking lot(lots of speed bumps)
I've got: Lightweight crank pully Sound tube delete Catback |

OP, highest speed I register on OEM GPS is 126 :iono:
It is kind of irrelevant, what are your lap times and where can you improve? Quote:

I hit 25mph once going around the Walmart parking "track". It was pretty intense.
|
128. Reckless driving ticket confirms it

It was slightly downhill. Plus, the kid I hit in a wheelchair might have helped, as I think one of the wheels got stuck under the chassis in a way that reduced rolling resistance. |
110.. race with a friend we just got off from work around 4:40am still cant beat him im all stock while he got mods plus im new to racing.
|
88 MPH but then found myself in 1955!
Yep, you can thank me for Johnny B Good! |
I hit the speed of light last weekend... Saw lots of "trails", heard some weird music and in the end saw a gigantic jar with what looked like a fetus inside it. Don't remember much else.
Can't wait to add my turbo and go even faster! |
129 at Roebling Road Raceway.
|
168 is the limit with 450+whp and a little aero.
|
168 mph stock or tuned ECU? I feel like the ECU would shut the car off before that.

Wow.

142 on the digital dash. Downhill Sunshine Skyway in Florida.

No such thing as top speed cutoff.

Potential? 170whp is not enough to overcome the aero drag past 130ish.

220 km/hr or 137.5 mph based on digital speedo.
|
All Bikes are limited to 186mph. Ford rangers 88mph. Scion tc's 124 mph it's all whatever the manufacturer wants.
|
So whats wph lol

This "shut off" is called a governor, or "electronic speed limiter". The triplets are not equipped with a governor. They are "drag limited" meaning they lack the horsepower to overcome aerodynamics to go faster than a certain speed. There are many factors effecting this as well as modifications etc. Make more power, go faster. The manual is geared to approximately 168mph at 7500rpm in 6th, so if you have the power to go that fast (most turbo cars probably do), then you're limited by gearing.
GM Trucks are limited at 99mph, Charger R/T's to 125mph, Charger R/T with R/T or Police package to 157mph, Charger SRT8's are drag limited. Most European cars are electronically limited to 155mph for legal reasons in Europe. |
I hate this thread! Ego out of control! Why are you guys putting at risk all of the people you love? What would you do if your wife, son, daughter, brother, was killed by some idiot trying to find how fast his car can go? If you want to find out what the 86 can do take it to the track! Let's stop this tread now!!!!!
|
Our cars aren't governed. They are drag/power limited to a certain top speed in which I do not know. Add more power and you'll be able to go faster, that is until you hit the stock rev limiter. Then of course if you want to go even faster you can do things like raising the rev limiter or change gearing etc.
If you have the funds getting this car over 200mph doesn't seem all that far fetched. |

There are absolutely no "limiters" in these cars except drag, I don't think you fully understand your own question, but, the reason you see 135 mph-145 mph or whatever is because the car literally cannot go past that in it's stock form with the current hp, ie. it cannot overcome the air resistance . The car if, I remember correctly from a dyno run video, is mechanically limited (transmission can't go further) than around 175 mph. |
